I liked Love at first Night, it was a very sweet romance that also touched on neurodiversity, which was done well. I liked both of the main characters and the supporting characters were great too. I read Megan’s first book too, and I loved learning all about the Tower of London.

Love at First Knight is a great read for anyone who loves the enemies to lovers trope. The main character, Daisy, is very shy and hasn't seen much of the world and seems to have a high level of anxiety. That being said, it doesn't stop her from being in charge as her alter ego Lady A, because she loves to LARP, along with her whole family. This love for LARPing is what presents an opportunity to work in London, and in the Tower of London grounds no less. Pushed out of her comfort zone, Daisy ventures to London and overcomes her obstacles to do something she enjoys for fun. That is, until a Viscount gets dropped on her and becomes her responsibility, as well as her arch nemesis.

This book was a sweet, lighthearted read with plenty of detail that made it easy to vividly picture what the author was intending. The main character is unsure of herself and day to day life, let alone the big city of London! I felt you really got to know her and resonate with her as a character. Not to spoil it but the ending was sweet, I only wish that might have been drawn out a little more!

Daisy grew up in a family that loves “LARPing” (Live Action Role Playing). She takes a summer job in London at a Knight school, where she meets Theodore, a member of the royal family.
After just recently reading Spare by Prince Harry, the storyline felt familiar, and I kept picturing Harry as Theodore, which was lovey.
This was a sweet book. I really appreciated that the main character was introverted, quirky, and not your typical rom-com heroine. She dealt with anxiety, but had a brave alter-ago “Lady A” which I loved.
It very much gave me fairytale vibes. Modern day nerdy Cinderella, if you will. Again I love that Megan Clawson went outside the typical rom-com box, and did something different.
I think this book will appeal to a very niche market. Some of the nuances I appreciated and other parts I just felt weren’t necessarily targeted towards me, but could see the draw for a particular market. I am an introvert and somewhat “nerdy” and appreciated the LOTR references etc. However LARP is not something I know anything about, so while I appreciated reading about it, I think if it’s something you are into you- you would LOVE this book.

I wish romance novels came with a spice-o-meter, as I just never know what to expect. This was a zero on the spice- which may help others determine if this is for them or not.

The path of royal love doesn't run smoothly!
I loved Megan's first book and this second one doesn't disappoint. I have to admit that at first I found the details at the start of the book, about Daisy's LARPing a bit intense, but I realised why it was important later, as it the essence of the book.
I love the setting of the Tower of London and the 'real life goofiness' that she gives to all of her characters.
This is a fun, fabulous read with several laugh out loud moments as well as a serious message underneath.

I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I read the other book that takes place at the Tower Hill and it was fun. This one caught my interest.

Love at First Knight is a cute read with all the fixings. Larping, LOTR references, sweet romance, family & friends, funny scenarios, it has them all. While it moves a bit quickly, you do feel entertained through the whole story and enjoy seeing it unfold.

Thanks NetGalley for an ARC of Love at First Knight

Daisy has her first summer job at no less than the Tower of London. Will she meet amazing people? You have no idea. Her new life is about to begin with a big bang, Theo. Not the love of her life, more the bane of her life.

awww this was such a cute, quick read! it somehow managed to be very quirky and very cliche at the same time, but it was enjoyable read nonetheless.

I was really looking forward to reading "Love at First Knight" after devouring Megan's debut novel.

Love at First Knight follows Daisy who lives with her geeky and loveable family who spend their weekends LARPing. Daisy is very much stuck in her comfort zone until she gets the opportunity to work at a Knight School in the Tower of London. Here she meets the royal pain in the ass Teddy Fairfax.

When I received an ARC copy of this book I had been in a run of reading quite heavy literary fiction and LAFT was a wonderful palate cleanser. It had everything I love in a book, humour, romance and an important message. I really related to the fact that Daisy created an alter ego to cope when she was feeling overwhelmed and anxious. The book had a really interesting way of exploring social anxiety and the long term effects of bullying.

I was really rooting for our heroine and I can't wait to see what else Megan has up her sleeve.

The only criticism I would give is she introduced Freddie and Maggie from her first novel and I think she should have either weaved them into the storyline a bit more or just left them out entirely.

Falling Hard For The Royal Guard was a fun book to read, so when I saw that Megan Clawson had another book coming, I was keen to read it.
Centred around the Tower of London, again, Love at First Knight is the story of Daisy, a LARPing enthusiast.
Well, her and her whole family.
Daisy is a simple girl, nothing to write home about, looks-wise, quiet, shy and boring in her eyes, who finds it increasingly difficult to deal with social situations, instead finding solace in her little job helping her father in his 'hobby' shop in a sleepy Lincolnshire village and taking the form of her LARP character, Lady A. But then, her twin brother throws a curveball, finding an advert for a job in London that he feels she would be perfect at, helping at a Knight School at the Tower of London for the summer.
After a lot of persuasion, she finally took the steps to build her confidence and took the job. But she doesn't foresee the one big possible hindrance.
Viscount Theodore Fairfax.
A spoilt media-hungry royal, she ends up being assigned to mentor.
A pompous royal who seems to find pleasure in causing her discomfort.
A rude royal who tramples over others' emotions with no apparent realisation of what he leaves in his wake.
A handsome royal who can't help but get under her skin.
Okay, so I won't rehash the story. After all, this is a review, not a synopsis! But it was an entertaining read.
Daisy is a character who appears to have some form of neurodiversity, meaning she finds it hard in social situations and has a fear of being out there. Of being herself.
Theodore, or Teddy, as he becomes affectionately known, is another kind of character. He shows the darker side of being a part of a famous family.
And then there is the inevitable happily ever after, attained after a complex set of events.
I love the historical details woven into the threads of the story, as well as the detailing about LARPing. It all sounds like a right larp; sorry, lark!
There is a colourful cast of supporting characters, including Bobble, Daisy's London flatmate, who is as eccentric as she is loveable.
A little unbelievable, but hey, that's what stories are for, aren't they? To take us out of the realms of our boring normality so we can live a modern fairytale as we dive into our books?
If you like a bit of a fairytale, then I would recommend this. I certainly enjoyed it.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books for an ARC.

I really struggle with reviewing this book. I felt that the relationship between Teddy and Daisy was a bit rushed. It also wasn’t believable to me. The main character wasn’t relatable as I don’t struggle with the same social concerns, but the author managed to make me “feel” her pain. I appreciated reading about a woman who fit a totally different mold than the norm. For my personal taste, it was severely lacking spice. The LOTR references were fantastic however. This book makes me want to try LARPing so badly!! Overall, this was an enjoyable, easy read. I even got a bit teary eyed during one scene (I’m a sucker for anything sister related). Thank you, Netgalley for the ARC!

I was fortunate to be given a copy of the authors previous book to read and absolutely loved it. I was mesmerised by the history as well as the romantic story!

Following up on a hit is always difficult, so when I received a copy of this book to review I was worried that it would not be as good as the first.

I started reading it quickly and did find the first 25% quite difficult to get into. This is more to do with my complete ignorance of anything relating to LARPing and such rather than it being a reflection on the author or story.

I adored Daisy. A real woman with genuine, realistic problems. The low confidence and general anxiety references were so well written; such as leaving super early to avoid crowds on the underground, struggling to socialise etc. I loved the development of Daisy, how she found herself and grew as a person. Just brilliant!

Teddy was a great love interest. I liked how their relationship developed, but would have liked a little more chemistry between them.

Once I got to around 45% I could not put this down! The author smashed it again.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for my advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review 📚

Daisy doesn’t get out much but likes role playing at medieval events. However her father signs her up for a job in London without her knowing. And she ends up working in the Tower of London helping running their knight school However there’s a fly in the ointment in the name of Theodore Fairfax a distant relative of the royal family. Daisy is staying in a that with Bonnie who is probably the best thing that’s ever happened to her. Teddy Fairfax gets Daisy sacked. But finds her back at home and a lovely romance ensues. Loved it!

Love at First Knight by Megan Clawson was a fun and easy read that had one of my favorite plot lines - enemies to love story.

Daisy and Teddy drew me in to their story immediately and all I say about the plot is that I want to start LARPing!

If you're looking for a little magic, a lot of fun, and enjoyable characters then you need look no further.

I fell in love with Megan Clawson's writing a year ago when I discovered her debut novel "Falling Hard for the Royal Guard." I was such a wonderfully new and refreshing read from a person who is intimately familiar with the Tower of London. As soon as I heard she planned to write a second book, "Love at First Knight", I jumped on the preorder. I've been counting down the days until its release.

The folks over at Avon UK Publishing surprised me however and I was lucky enough to be selected to receive an advance copy.

The moment I began reading "Love at First Knight", I was sucked into the world Daisy Hastings and Teddy Fairfax. Daisy is a wonderfully witty and expressive character who is afraid of the world outside of her Lincolnshire bubble. Teddy is a grumpy Viscount who is known for his partying ways. They come from two completely different plants, yet the universe works in mysterious ways. It isn't long before Daisy encounters the grumpy Viscount in London.

Without giving away too much of the plot, I am thrilled to say that the magic of the Tower that was cultivated in the first book, continues to shine through. Clawson has done a wonderful job at once again creating a fascinating, fresh, and intriguing story line. I literally could not put this book down and stayed up late into the night (no pun intended) to finish Daisy's story. Daisy and Teddy are both such strong characters that they feel like old friends. I'm dying to know more about Bauble!

This royal romcom is easily on its way to becoming one of my favorite books and I can't wait to read it again once I receive my paperback copy in a few months time. This book is one that any fan of enemies to lovers, grumpy sunshine, and royal romance should have in their collection!

Ten out of ten brilliant stars!

Thank you so much to Avon UK and NetGalley for letting me enjoy this book early. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Another amazing romcom from this author as I just fell in love with this book as much as I did falling hard for the royal guard! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book.

A fun and totally entertaining read with a totally improbable plot which I thoroughly enjoyed. Beneath the surface is the more serious issue of agoraphobia but dealt with not only sensitively but how the main character, Daisy, deals with it in her alter ego. Utterly delightful, charming read whilst being totally mad at times. Megan's knowledge of the Tower of London is second to none as she actually lives there and with the TV programme about the Tower the scenes are so easy to envisage. Love the intertwining of fantasy and life and I never knew about LARPing before, a sort of Sealed Knot club together with a rogue Royal character in Theo. Loved all the characters especially Daisy's colourful flatmate who hides behind her flamboyant exterior. Loved it and it can't help but make the reader smile but possibly not for everyone
