An empowering book with enticing interviews and insights into how activism and religion can go hand in hand.

In a world that tries to separate spirituality from activism, “Have You Got Good Religion” reminds us of the ethical and moral leadership that black women embodied during the civil rights movement (and beyond).

Through her interviews and intriguing concepts, we find a philosophical and womanist narrative that pushes against the ideas that religion is meant to push uniformity. Instead, she contends that liberation theology, which has an especially rich tradition in black religious spaces pushes forward ideals of a FULL freedom that encompasses the edges of society.

Quite an enriching book! Recommend everyone to dig in even if you only seek to read a chapter or two. It does have an academic tilt to it, but Mingo’s writing invites you to delve into the stories.
