Your health depends on the whole you: body, mind, spirit, diet, and environment. This book is a good tool for those looking to improve their holistic health. I recommend this book for anyone who has an autoimmune disease who would like another tool in their health-toolbox.

The Self-Care Devotional
3.5 Stars
I enjoyed this read; it's a beautiful book, but not the right fit for me. I'm all about self-care. That is not what this book is about. I wish the book description was upfront about this being a Christian prayer or meditation book. That's not what I was looking for. However, some areas really impressed me. I skipped the preachy bits.
Thank you, NetGalley and Barbour Publishing, for an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the Self-Care Devotional. It is written with Scripture that reminds me of the importance to slow down, listen, and just be. Not try to be more or be someone I am not. It provides encouragement to nourish your own soul and your relationship with Jesus. The writings are simple and yet profoundly encouraging. Grab your journal and spend some time being encouraged by hearing what Jesus has to say about you. Each entry is just the perfect length to allow me to spend some quiet moments before my day begins.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are solely my own, freely given.
This down-to-earth Christian devotional won me over from the start. I love the way the author speaks to real life issues, concerns, and dilemmas. It's as if she looked into my heart!
Though similar in format to other devotionals (topic, scripture from multiple versions of the Bible, text about the topic, ending with a prayer), this author writes in such a calming, flowing and heart-felt manner that I felt calmed and uplifted after each day's reading.
I enjoyed it so much I've already pre-ordered several copies for gifts.
My sincere thanks to Barbour Books for allowing me access to a DRC via NetGalley. Publication is 2/1/24. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and are freely given.
I love devotional books, so I was excited to check this one out. Themes of calm, positivity, and the importance of self-care are woven throughout devotion. These devotions follow a similar format to other books, as they contain a heading, Bible verse, the self-care focus for , and a prayer. Making this a journal, with lines to write on, would've been nice, but I used it with an external notebook during my devotional time.

This Self-Care Devotional is filled with Bible verses from various Bibles. There are many subjects and each one has a Bible verse, devotional and a prayer. The devotionals in this book provides the reader with positive ways to find peace in hard times and self reflection. I enjoyed the scriptures as well as the messages and prayers 1
I think this is a beautiful book and is incredibly amazing for people of the christian belief. I do however wish that the book was more open about being a christian self care book in the description.
Good self-care devotional for those who especially like the Message, Amplified, The Living Bible and the Voice bible translations. We can use the daily readings as a spring-board for our own favorite bible translations.
The title heading, for the day, is set in a nice color, followed by a bible verse. Then, an explanation of the daily self-care focus and ending with a prayer.
The Self-Care Devotional by Carey Scott gives us plenty of suggestions to ponder through-out our day.
I really love this!
(Although it did not download correctly on my reading device, I could read enough for this review.)
I love the format of this book. It's easy to read especially if you are struggling with anxiety and executive function. I would gift this book to someone starting their career and learning to balance everything.
A nice little self help book. It has a scripture, a little “devotional” of sorts and then a prayer for that topic that day. It is good, and could be very helpful! Not my cup of tea. But it really was nice.

** this is not my faith or normal content, but I love journals so I reviewed this book from that perspective. I thought is was very new fresh concept layout style compared to other devotionals I’ve seen. Creative with fonts and more. Highly recommend to anyone that does this style of journal and of this faith.
This is the nicest and prettiest daily devotional! The illustrations are gorgeous. You will love reading the daily quotes and scriptures.
The Self-Care Devotional by Carey Scott is perfect for the busy Christian woman. The devotions are short less than 5 minutes but contain the beautiful wisdom of Our Lord. I read the ebook and I feel like the print version would be a better version some of the edging was cut off in the ebook but other than that the scripture was very readable and it is perfect for on the go. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to give my honest opinion on this devotional.
I reviewed The Self-Care Devotional by Carey Scott. #TheSelfCareDevotional #NetGalley I was given a copy in advance. I choose to review this devotional because it was very appealing I am on a self care journey and each page is a topic, scripture, information on the topic with guidance and a prayer. The only thing that I wish this devotional had was space to write our own thoughts but I used this devotional as part of my weekly practice and added my own lined journal. It was comforting in being able to add scripture to my weekly self care and focus on that topic, scripture and prayer for the week . Thank you
The only bit I didn’t like about this was that there’s no room to write any notes, you would have to write in the margins. I love the blending of self care and devotions in one because your quiet time with God is a form of self care. I am definitely going to incorporate this into my daily devotion time and share what I’ve learned with my Sunday school class.
Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read this ARC.
The Self Care Devotional journal by Carey Scott is an amazing uplifting devotional. Embarking on healthy habits, enhancing the pursuit of happiness and embracing God's plan for life are virtues we must hold dear to our hearts. Throughout our daily life, it is important to practice self care in the best possible way such as finding reasons and ways to care for oneself, being our own caretaker as well as focusing on our needs. Too often we forget to give ourselves self care by means of be coming healthy, providing warmth to our bodies physically, emotionally and spiritually. In addition, being kind to ourselves more by honoring our mistakes and accomplishments to learn, and striving through difficult times will help improve our daily life. Making yourself matter and being mindful of who you truly are and what you can do to make better choices , will provide a meaningful life to live by. Thank you Net Galley for this opportunity. I truly appreciate this devotional. I definitely will grab a print copy once released and get some for family and friends as gifts
This book is not formatted for easy reading on a Kindle. It could be a nice book though.

First of all, Thank you Netgalley for the ARC granted. Second, after read the crosswords devotional and getting obssesed with it, I was constanly looking for another different kind of devotional, and here I found exacty what I was asking: reflections from our day-by-day challenges based in the bible, taking mentions about how to love and respect ourselves while serving the Lord. Definetely approved!
