The Quilt Room Secret is Lisa Jones Baker's contribution to the multi author series, The Heart of the Amish. It was a great addition to the series. I adored getting to know the main characters, Jacob and Trini. I found their story to be sweet and heartwarming. I wanted to see what decisions they would make for their future. I enjoyed this tale of second chances, find yourself, love and faith.
I give The Quilt Room Secret five stars. I highly recommend it for readers who love to read clean romance, particularly Amish romance. I look forward to continuing The Heart of the Amish series with book four, Mindy Steele's Courting an Amish Bishop.
I received a paperback copy of Lisa Jones Baker's The Quilt Room Secret from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

This was the first book I have read by this author. It was a sweet Amish story of discovering what you want in life with the help of God.

I really enjoy these light hearted, light romance reads. Trini has been planning with her brother to make a big change in her life. A change that no one else knows about, nor can they find out. But when Jacob returns to Arthur after the death of his aunt, her childhood memories come crashing back as well as a promise she made to a five year old Jacob. But as she sees more and more of Jacob and as he seems to become a daily part of her life after a little mishap in the orchard, she is starting to question her future and what she wants. Swearing her best friends to her biggest secret, Trini lets them know what she is deciding and somehow word gets around town of Trini's plans. Her mother and sisters are now questioning her faith and wants in life, but Trini knows she must do this for herself in order to find herself again. I really enjoyed this story line, as well as the characters. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review. This review is of my own opinion and accord.

Sometimes what we think we want isn't what we want at all. Trini learned this lesson in a hard way, but its possible that had she not tried her heart's desire, she might have spent her whole life wishing she had. Jacob knew what he wanted from a very young age and chased that dream on a very narrow path, all the while heading for his ultimate ending. When it appeared that his desired outcome might never be his, he felt lost and without direction. Where does one go when the only path you've ever known turns out to be the wrong way?
Jacob and Trini's love for each other was strong, but Trini still chose to follow her dream. It took living without Jacob's love to see what was really important.
The risk both encountered during this indecisive time was that by the time they learned what God's plan for them might truly be, Would it be too late? That's where their deep faith came into play, always leading them, even when they couldn't feel it. Trini also learned that independence might be an admirable quality in some instances, but is it ever more important than family and those who love you?
This was a story of faith, romantic love and deep friendship. Now I am ready to read the next books in the series. I'm hoping Trini's friends find their path to the Amish husband God has planned for them and that Jacob's brothers do the same.

The Quilt Room Secret by Lisa Jones Baker
This was a delightful book. The book is about Jacob who comes to live on his deceased Aunt’s farm which he and his two brothers inherited. The farm is next door to Trini’s home whom Jacob has loved since he was five years old. Jacob and his brothers are from Lancaster Pennsylvania and spent time with their Aunt fifteen years earlier when their father left his wife, family and the church. Trini who is a few years older became friends with Jacob and kind of took care of him during this difficult time. They both had bonded through their friendship, but for Jacob who was five at the time, it became more and he hasn’t forgotten Trini.
Fifteen years later Trini is an independent Amish woman who owns a quilt shop, a home, makes lists of everything and has no plans to marry. She has other plans. She plans to leave the Amish church and become Englisch, joining her brother and his wife in Rhode Island. That’s what her plan was until Jacob came back and everything changes. Does she leave or does she stay?
I really enjoyed this book and the author did excellent job writing. I just hope that the author writes another book about Trini's two best friends, Serenity and Abby, because they have their eyes on Jacob's brothers and wondering what happens for them. Will there be a continuation of The Quilt Room Secret?

When you do something with love and good intentions, it's never in vain. Because when your heart gives in a spirit of love, you reap more benefits than the recipient. Doing for others is a way of nurturing your own soul.
Trini Sutter is a planner. She has lists all over her house of the things that need to be done. The how and when of her lists helps her feel in control. She is very independent for an young Amish woman. She has her own business and is single. To keep her independence, she is planning to leave the Amish community to live in the town that her brother lives. He had crossed over after his baptismal and has been shunned by her family and community. This has always has been a hard time in her life. However, when Jacob Lantz and his brothers move into the house next door, she begins to be troubled by her future decision to leave. It is a secret that she has not shared with her family and her best friends. Jacob remembers Trini when they were young children and the kindness that Trini showed him after a family tragedy. His aunt had taken him and brothers in for a short time and when she passed away, she left her home to the brothers.
Jacob has returned the kindness to Trini when she suffers an accident and needs help getting around. It is this kindness that they become very close friends and deep feelings become evident.
Trini is still determined with her plans however, Jacob has different ideals.
I liked how their relationship progressed. There is a letting go that Jacob had to endure for Trini to find her true home. There is peace in freedom and it is a reminder why God gives us free will. Free will is the only way to find true love.
A special thank you to Barbour Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

In Arthur, Illinois, Trini Sutter discovers her childhood friend, Jacob Lantz & his 2 brothers have moved in next door after the passing of their aunt. As a child, Jacob doesn't get an answer to his marriage proposal from Trini. Now he's back & loves her more than ever, but Trini has a very detailed plan of how her life will go. Circumstances will interrupt her plans and Trini will have to decide what is really important. With The Quilt Room Secret, Baker has created an engaging story with a unique premise. The Sutter and Lantz families spent a great deal of time together after Jacob's father went away. His wise and loving Aunt Margaret helped care for Jacob and his two brothers, Gabriel and Stephen. And this beloved member of the community was a surrogate mother to many.
When Jacob and his brothers return to Arthur, Illinois, to live in Aunt Margaret's house after her death, he reconnects with Trini, and he is still interested in pursuing her. But in the years they have been apart, Trini has been making her own plans. The youngest of eleven children, she doesn't think she can be an Amish wife and mother. All she knows is that she has fallen for Jacob. However, when she leaves, it looks like a future with him will never be possible.
Baker works in many endearing moments as this story unfolds. Mostly told from Trini's and Jacob's points of view, there are occasional other point of view characters that add to the story. Along the way, Trini discovers a lot about herself and Jacob. It's also good to see she has dependable best friends who help her as she reveals her secret.
If you're looking for a fabulous Amish romance, you need to pick up a copy of The Quilt Room Secret by Lisa Jones Baker.

The Quilt Room Secret by Lisa Jones Baker ⭐⭐⭐⭐
My first book by Lisa and looking forward to reading others in the future.
Although this is part of a series, it reads as Stand alone. Which I also liked.
Trini owns the Quilt shop and in the back room, the girls get together and tell deep dark secrets. But Trini keeps her's to herself.
She plans to leave the Amish life and chase her dreams. but will Jacob's plans change that?
Jacob and Trini have known each over 20years. As kids, Jacob age 5, promises to marry her when the time is right. Is this time now?
Pre-order your copy now and find the answers to these questions, you will be pleasantly surprised. I recommend you read this delightful story about Trini and Jacob.
I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley.

I was honestly very confused by the narration… mostly it was Jacob or Trini but randomly it would focus on someone else. Serenity, Abby, Mary all took a turn narrating, and I just was not a fan of the style. The side stories of Gabe and Abby, and Stephen and Serenity were too much for me as well, even though I would guess it was because they’ll have their own stories later. The idea behind Trini & Jacob's childhood crush relationship was cute, but I was not a fan of the book overall.

Endearing
Trini and Jacob have quite the history, which I found to be sweet and endearing. That history played a huge part in their reconnecting and their day-to-day interactions, which impacted their blossoming relationship. As that relationship grew, it had me feeling torn with the characters.
While I loved Jacob with his kind, caring, sweet, and understanding character, Trini ended up spending a lot of time getting on my last nerve. I kept waiting to see if and when she would ever see what was right in front of her nose. Needless to say, it was painful to watch. However, seeing how all of that worked to impact the end result was what made this such an enjoyable read. When you add to that the lessons learned by the characters, as well as the deep message of faith and God's will, you have a very special and endearing story that is well worth the read.
Lisa Jones Baker is a new author to me, and as such, Although I didn't know what to expect., I have to say that I greatly enjoyed the story and look forward to reading more of her books.
Thank you to NetGalley and Barbour for providing me with a copy of this book. All opinions and comments are voluntary and completely my own.

Story starts with a five-year old boy proposing to a nine-year old who says she'll answer later. Fast forward twenty years and they re-connect. Love is strong, but she has lists which control her life. One list even has her leaving the Plain Life. We meet friends, family, fun, and heartache as the story progresses..

The Quilt Room Secret by Lisa Jones Baker is book #3 of the Heart of the Amish series. When Jacob Lantz was 5, he asked Trini to marry him, right before he moved away. Now, almost 20 years later, he's back with his two brothers to take over his late aunt's farm. And he's still in love with Trini. But Trini has big plans that she's been working on a long time, with her brother's help. And those plans do NOT include either staying Amish or contnuing to live in her community. How will this relationship ever work out?
I really did enjoy this book. However, at times, Jacob seems to be too good to be true. I guess that's why this is a fiction story.
Thanks to #NetGalley and #Barbour for an e-pub of this book. All opinions expressed are strictly my own.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗟𝗧 𝗥𝗢𝗢𝗠 𝗦𝗘𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗧 was an unexpected find and I am very happy to have read it. Amish romances are a recent discovery and I find that their underlying message of faith and hope are what draw me to them. In this book, childhood friends Jacob and Trini reconnect decades later and their friendship is as strong as ever. As a young boy, Jacob falls in love with the sweet girl next door and his love for Trini has never changed. As a man, he is determined to make her his wife and that determination is unconditional. Trini is not your typical Amish woman. She is strong, independent and fiercely loyal. She is also confused. What I enjoyed most about these two characters was the maturity they showed and the patience that it took to fall in love. It was special. I’m giving 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗟𝗧 𝗥𝗢𝗢𝗠 𝗦𝗘𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗧 the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!

(The Heart of the Amish)
Trini Holds Secret Dreams for Her Future
Full of faith, hope, and romance, this new series takes you into the Heart of Amish country.
As they took turns pushing each other on the swing that hung from a large tree, the mature—for a five-year-old—Jacob Lantz asked Trini Sutter to marry him. The nine-year-old thoughtfully responded that she’d consider his proposal when they were older.
Nearly two decades later, the Amish farmer returns to the beautiful countryside of Arthur, Illinois, to take the independent owner of The Quilt Room up on her promise. Quiet, handsome Jacob is truly in love with the spirited list maker, and Trini finds herself falling in love with Jacob, but the youngest of eleven has big plans of her own.
Jacob’s long-held aspirations are put to the test when he learns that Trini has been holding a secret. He prays for a turnaround of events; however, when Trini moves away from her tight-knit community, he begins to realize that his dream of them being Mr. and Mrs. most likely won't happen.
Will Trini forfeit her own well-laid plan for the man of her dreams?
This is Trini Sutter and Jacob Lantz's story.
Trini Sutter didn’t fear much. But she wasn’t fond of heights. Still, she stood on her aluminum ladder’s top step amid her beloved peach tree’s green, leafy foliage. Focused on her balance, she held her breath as she extended her clippers to the broken branch. Last night’s windstorm had wreaked havoc on her orchard.
Finally, the pruners gripped the limb. Taking great care not to fall, she steadied herself and squeezed the wooden handles together. The moment the sharp blades bit into the wood, a noise startled her from behind. As the limb dropped from the bushy tree, Trini lost her footing, dropped the clippers, and fell.
A set of strong arms reached down and lifted her to a sitting position as her heart pounded from the shock of the fall. She looked up to see a somewhat familiar-looking man with an expression of urgency.
His gentle touch put her at ease. “You … you startled me.”
“I’m really sorry. But here, let’s make sure you’re okay. Can you stand?” His soothing voice expressed concern.
Before she could reply, he went on. “I didn’t mean to surprise you. Again, I apologize for causing your fall. I’ll make sure you’re all right.”
As she caught her breath, his voice softened. “You’re bleeding, Trinity.”
I recommend this book.

The Quilt Room Secret by Lisa Jones Baker

The Quilt Room Secret by Lisa Jones Baker is the third book in The Heart of the Amish series, but it can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed the descriptions of the beautiful quilts Trini Sutter created. I would love to own one of her creations. The Quilt Room Secret is a sweet story, but I found the pacing to be on the slow side. The overly detailed descriptions and repetitious details led to the lethargic tempo. Trini’s two friends, Serenity and Abby, were certainly taken with the other two Lantz brothers, Gabriel and Stephen. I liked that the book did not solely focus on Trini and Jacob. I did find Trini to be a conundrum. She is having a crisis of faith and identity. She feels the rules of the Amish community to be restricting yet she is not baptized. I do not know how Trini kept track of all her lists. I thought the ending was rushed. I liked the wisdom that had been handed down by the Lantz brother’s Aunt Margaret. She touched many lives. The Quilt Room Secret is a sweetly stitched story with a heaven-sent bequest, lengthy lists, peaceful countryside, quality quilts, and an old love note.

This was my first book by Lisa Jones Baker and it was very well written. I enjoyed reading the love story of Jacob and Trini. There was also more than just a love story. The life lessons that each character learned was eye opening for me. It was a great reminder that we are not in control of our lives, God is. I enjoy simple, heart warming books and this book definitely fit the bill.
