Bailey and Lev are your textbook characters for a romance novel, especially in a high school. In a sort of screwed up Lady & The Tramp sort of a way, we have the perfect and polished Lev who can do no wrong in the eyes of many and Bailey, who apparently is a fuck up because she got a C- at a class in Julliard and we all know that C- equals drugs?

Their romance is meh, I liked it, but I can't handle when we give teenagers, LITERAL teenagers, in a HIGH SCHOOL SETTING the actions of adults.

Like, there is a scene, where, and I CANNOT stress this enough, Lev hopes his dad "gets it on" with another woman. What in the actual fuck.

I tried to also separate this from the 1st gen, but sweet Jesus. You killed off a main character and then had the MMC of that first gen HAVE A BABY WITH SOMEONE ELSE AND NAME IT AFTER THE CHARACTER YOU KILLED?

This book follows a very complex relationship. While I found myself loving the first half of the book, I felt the second half fell short. I was often skimming pages. The epilogue did answer some questions which helped clarify some things as well as bring closure.

LJ created a story that fills all of the last holes in Sinner's fans heart. After all these years she rebuilt these characters with so much love and compassion, I felt like we are really coming back home in Todos Santos.

Damaged Goods is amazing but it's also a truly bitter sweet journey because coming back delivers a lot of heartbreaking moments. The moments I ugly cried ? Not sure If I could count... This book is angst walking on steroids. Damaged Goods touched my heart deeply, and I cannot stop thinking about it. This book is not only romantic suspense, but it's also beautiful, complicated love story about healing

I am a huge fan of L.J. Shen, so to say I was excited to read this, is an understatement! L.J. Shen never ceases to amaze me, and I really enjoyed Bailey and Levs story. It was a great addition to the All Saints series, which I had read previously and loved. I ended up loving this one, almost as much as Pretty Reckless. It was emotional, and had some very sad parts, but all together it was quite a beautifully told story. I love how Shen writes her characters, they always have depth, and great development throughout her books, and this one was no exception to that. This book also covered some tough topics like drug addiction, and struggles with mental health, which Shen was able to express with care. Overall, I really liked Damaged Goods, and it has easily become one of my favorites of hers along with Vicious, Pretty Reckless, Angry God, and The Villain.

Thank you NetGalley and Bloom Books for the ARC!

Bailey Followhill's seemingly perfect existence starts to crumble, revealing the pressures and dark turns behind her impeccable facade. Lev Cole, the quintessential golden boy, finds himself at a crossroads, yearning for a life beyond societal expectations, with his heart tethered to Bailey and his dreams of flying. Their intertwined fates paint a raw and poignant tale of struggle, addiction, and the daunting task of living up to impossible standards. This book explores the depths of human resilience, the complexities of love and friendship, and the courage it takes to confront one's true self. It's an emotionally charged journey that resonates deeply, highlighting the importance of authenticity and the strength found in vulnerability.

I recently read Damaged Goods by L.J Shen and it was a powerful and emotional read. The story follows Bailey Followhill, a control freak who has always been the perfect daughter, and Lev Cole, a golden boy who is beginning to question the life that has been laid out for him. As they struggle to find their own paths in life, they must also navigate their complicated relationship and the lies and secrets that threaten to tear them apart.

Shen does an excellent job of creating complex and relatable characters. Bailey and Lev are both flawed in their own ways, but their struggles and vulnerabilities make them all the more compelling. The story is full of emotion and depth, touching on themes of family, friendship, love, and self-discovery.

I particularly appreciated the way Shen tackled tough topics such as drug addiction and mental health, handling them with sensitivity and care. She also does a great job of creating a realistic and vivid world, with detailed descriptions of the settings and characters that make you feel like you're right there with them.

Overall, I would highly recommend Damaged Goods to anyone looking for a gripping and emotional read. It's a book that will stick with you long after you've finished it, leaving you thinking about the characters and their struggles.

Damaged goods, fraying bits and broken pieces...

Bailey is a ballerina who isn't thriving at Julliard (Black Swan lite).
Lev is the golden boy football player.
The one thing they have in common?
They are crumbling under the weight of expectation.
Angsty, steamy, new adulting and kind of failing.
Recommend.
4.5

Damaged Goods is book 4 in the All Saints series by L.J. Shen.
I devoured and I mean straight up DEVOURED every single book in this phenomenal series!
Both characters are so complex, so unique and so real.
Shen outdid herself with this book. I’m at a loss for words.
Absolutely loved it all!

Thank You NetGalley and Bloom Books for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!

It’s always a good feeling coming back to Todos Santos, but this one brings a bittersweet sense of closure. This is the last in this series that I’ve loved for so long. These characters and this world are one that you’ll never forget. And ending on #Bailev is heartbreaking perfection. There are so many appearances throughout this book you can’t help but smile. And daddy Vicious has not changed one bit and every scene with him made me remember why I fell in love with this world to begin with.

Bailey and Lev are two pieces of the same soul. Their journey does feel a touch like Knight and Luna’s however, it’s also very different in so many ways. The Cole men love and the love hard. Watching Lev push and push to help Bailey shatters pieces of your very marrow. He goes through so many conflicting emotions comparing so much to his loss of his mother and the near loss of his brother. This man has been through more than most but he’s stronger for it. He destroys himself for the ones he loves but piece by piece he builds himself into the man he wants to be. I loved watching his growth and strength throughout this story he’s the best pieces of his mom and dad.

Bailey broke my heart; she literally kills herself to be the version of perfect she thinks her parents want. This beautifully funny, smart, and caring human doesn’t think she’s good enough and those feelings hit so close to my heart. The desperation to be everything your family wants, and the feeling of never measuring up is one I feel a lot of people will understand and commiserate with. She breaks herself to the very foundation but what she builds herself into shows how strong this girl is.

These Cole men are something special. It was said that “Rosie LeBlanc made the men in her life so easy to love” and a more accurate statement has never existed. Dean brought me to my knees. The love that he still has for Rosie is the kind you never get over. And he didn’t. He’s still so much in love with her it will make your heart ache. To have that kind of love is to have something so pure so untainted that there is no other love for you. I think people are misunderstanding his portion of this book which is sad because they are going to miss out on the magic of Dean and Rosie.

This book is classic LJ, the banter and wit. The sarcasm and innuendos. The overall feeling of this story brings a sense of nostalgia that I’ve been missing. Seeing all these characters together again and all in the same book was something I didn’t know I needed. This is one story that should not be missed.

Damaged Goods is part of the All Saints High series and if you've read the first three, don't expect this one to be anything like them. Just like the others, this is the story of the children of the Sinners of Saint and they do not disappoint. I loved getting to see how the Sinners of Saint turned out to be not so messed up after all and how they parent. You get glimpses of them throughout the books and it brings everything full circle. While it is part of a series, you do not have to read the previous books to know what's happening in this one, and can be read as a standalone.

Damaged Goods tells the story of Bailey Followhill, the not-so-perfect ballerina who is crumbling under the weight of being what she thinks her mother wants her to be. It also tells the story of Lev Cole, the hot quarterback that every girl wants to date and wants to be doing anything by playing football and who only has eyes for his Bailey. When Bailey arrives back in town, Lev does everything he can to help her overcome her addiction and go back to being her old self. Will they be able to overcome their problems and save each other or will they be lost to their darkness forever?

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the free copy of Damaged Goods by LJ Shen in exchange for my honest and free review. Though nothing can replace Vicious as my all-time favorite, this book really did touch deeper because of the subject. There are more younger people who are facing addiction than ever before and often times, they can't or don't want to admit it.

This one wasn't for me I'm afraid. I've loved all of Shen's work but this one was too off. The characters didn't gel, the plot line was clunky and didn't move and I didn't like the premise of the plot. I'm not giving up on her but this one just wasn't for me unfortunately.

This book was so heartbreaking and beautiful and full of ANGST. I finished it in one day (which im regretting now because I miss them so much already) Damaged Goods is amazing but it's also truly bitter sweet journey. Damaged Goods touched my heart deeply, and I cannot stop thinking about it. This book is not only romantic suspense, but it's also beautiful, complicated love story about healing. This book was everything I wanted it to be and more.

This book is an emotional rollercoaster. Lev and Baily have been best friends since birth and have such a bond that watching them go through their challenges is heartbreaking and rewarding all rolled into this book. The topic of addiction is strong but the humor between Dean and Lev and Knight really lighten this book and help push it through the uncomfortable truths about the disease. Great book!

Ahh absolutely loved this next All Saints installment by LJ Shen! Lev and Bailey were absolutely amazing. Shen ripped my heart out of my chest repeatedly and put it back together again. I am a simp for Lev, and would give a kidney to have that man in my life. Must read! Love this series!

This is a second generation book and I'm not sure why the initial feedback from others was not received well. I think it's showing how people move on, people fall in love differently, people become different as they grow older and grow with and past grief. There was a lot of angst in this book, as is an LJ specialty. I rather enjoyed it.
