What a fun recipe book! I tried a few of the boba recipes from the book and the UnBEElievable boba tea was my favourite from it.
The recipes are easy to follow with stunning illustrations that makes this book so fun to read, and makes a fun addition to my cookbook shelf!
Bubble Tea has been a guilty pleasure treat for awhile now, but I’ve never had the courage to try my hand at making my own at home! Kawaii Cafe Bubble Tea Cookbook has given me the nudge and confidence to finally try making my own Bubble Tea!
The recipes were easy to follow along with and my husband and I both loved the Pineberry Tea that I made! I loved the style of the cookbook and the cute illustrations! The book definitely kept with the Kawaii theme!
I received an eARC of this title through NetGalley in return for an honest review.
I was not expecting this title to go into so much detail on making bubble tea. The book thoroughly explains what bubble tea is and how to make it. The art added to the explanations, which I appreciate as a visual learner.
I did not get to actually make anything before the title had to be sent back, but I would recommend this title to anyone interested in making bubble tea for themselves.
This was absolutely adorable! I loved the pictures and the information included. Will definitely keep using the make drinks.
Kawaii Café Bubble Tea is filled with 60 delicious recipes and absolutely adorable artwork featuring a kawaii aesthetic. This book is perfect for anyone who loves boba tea. The writing is clear and concise, making the recipes easy to follow. The flavour combinations include classic favourites plus many other mouth-watering combinations that I have never tried before. I highly recommend this book to bubble tea lovers of all ages.
Kind thanks to Quarto Publishing Group – Rock Point and NetGalley for an advanced reading copy of Kawaii Café Bubble Tea.
Overall it's really cute - good instructions for making bubble tea at home. I live in an area where there are not boba tea shops and I think this would circulate really well in my area.
I thought this was so cute! The colors are really pretty and I want to get a physical copy now so I can the recipes at home. I loved looking at all the drawing and the recipes.
Kawaii Café Bubble Tea is a recipe book full of pastel colors, cute illustrations, love for Bubble Tea, and all the info you may need.
I can't put into words how much I enjoyed reading this book, which I think I had never said about a cookbook before!
But this title is so well curated, and full of appreciation for the history this beverage has! A history, may I say, I was completely oblivious about. The concept of bubble tea is quite a recent “discovery” as a European and I foolishly thought “Oh, this is a new thing”. IT ORIGINATED IN THE 80'!
Bubble tea may not be always my drink of choice, but Stacey Kwong and Beyah del Mundo managed to fascinate me with their business story and historical facts.
I was just expecting some cute small recipes with hard-to-find ingredients, and instead, I found this well-loved cookbook.
My expectations couldn't be more wrong. It has all the information you may need: Not only preparing the tea but any sweeteners that you may need, any toppings… Any requirement for the recipe is well explained in some way or the other.
Overall a 10/10. No complaints, I cannot recommend it enough.
I love bubble tea. It's one of my favorite drinks. When I was living in Korea, I would get 2 on my way to work. I can't get enough of the stuff.
This little recipe book has a cute aesthetic and art style! The recipes are easy to follow and are fun for kids and adults alike! There are some intro to boba recipes and some fun exciting ones that I can't wait to try!
Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Rock Point for the ARC! ♥
Such cute aka. kawaii cover art - I was immediately sold and wanted to read all about bubble tea. This is a bubble tea....cook book of sorts. It is so much more than just a bunch of recipes though and it was far more intense than expected.
'Reading' a cookbook for review is weird - and I haven't made any of the recipes so I cannot to that point. Overall, the book had a lot of seemingly great recipes and a lot of helpful information to share.
The authors talk about boba, syrups, bases, james, homemade thai tea, and a pink drink variation called a Piglet. The illustration from the cover and its adorable nature continues throughout - watercolor style with detail of the drinks and components.
The notes they include are so thoughtful in the process of bubble tea making and helpful. They also note that pre-made is not the end of the world, which as a non-Bubble tea maker normally, that was a nice touch. Readers could be really intimidated by this cookbook, but they do a good job trying to keep it a little light and giving you a wealth of information.
So fun, such a happy read and viewing experience.
Neat, cute Boba drinks. Some are really high-effort and should probably made in bulk to make the work worth doing. The lemonade-tea mix is a standout, though there are lovely drinks throughout.
I really enjoyed reading this book about bubble tea or boba.
This book describes all such recipes related about delicious drinks like boba tea, sweeteners and syrups.
The description of the recipes and details in animated and cute illustrations.
This is useful to anyone interested in bubble tea and trying out new drinks.
I would like to thank the author and net galley for the arc.
I love boba tea, a lot. Making it, though, is easier said than done. Doing it from scratch means having a lot of patience with tapioca flour, and not looking away from the stove.
Kawaii Cafe Bubble Tea is very patient with the art of boba, explaining why you may want to source your syrups rather than buy a bottle from the store. We learn there are three types of boba available, depending on how dedicated you are to a high-quality bubble tea. You also don't have to use syrup for fruit tea; homemade jams will also work wonders!
I can't wait to try out these recipes at the next opportunity; the first thing to do is to secure the ingredients. That means choosing between five-minute or one-hour boba. And, of course, knowing how to stir and shake ice appropriately.
I got this book for my Christmas holiday because my son just loves bubble teas but as holidays go we didn’t have enough time to check all the Recipes, but the ones we did make, we loved them. We will be buying it and finish the rest of the recipes when he comes back from school.
I got this more for my Bubble tea loving daughter, who loved all the receipes.
This would make the perfect present for anyone and already been brought for daughter's birthday to finish her experimentations.
Such a great book!
The recipes are easy to understand, so I could make some boba drinks for my nephews. I didn't have many of the ingredients because those are expensive where I live but you can do lots with the basics. The illustrations were so cute that my nephews had their fun trying to make theirs too. We had such a great family time!
Could there be a cuter recipe book?! Nope, it's not possible!! This recipe was so adorable and extremely informative. I loved at the tips and tried and test knowledge that the authors included. The drawings were adorable and there was so much thought and detail put into them. The recipes included quite the variety that I think would appeal to many different tastes. I could see this book being a perfect addition to a kawaii/boba themed gift set! Very engaging book!
This cookbook is super cute and colorful! I adored this book and all of the colorful designs. I'm normally not a fan of cookbooks that use art instead of real photos, but this one is an exception. In addition to recipes for drinks, there are also recipes for toppings, jellies and egg pudding.
My only complaint about this book is that it's rather short, and you can probably find similar recipes online for free. But if you're looking for an adorable little boba cookbook than this is for you!
Thank you netgalley for providing me with an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
It's hard to find bubble tea near me so that's what drew me to this book. It's like a treasure chest for bubble tea lovers. It has so many easy recipes with clear instructions and fun pictures. You can make classic milk teas, fruity ones, and even special drinks with ice cream. Plus, it shows how to do everything yourself.
Everything is very easy to follow and the pastel illustrations are an absolute joy! (Wait until you see the super decadent drizzle-type drinks! The one titled "Guilt Trip" is amazing!)
This is such a charming little volume! If you love boba or just want to start making boba treats for your kids, buy this! Worth every cent!
