I really enjoyed this book. Cute with really detailed recipes. I am big fan of boba drinks and wanted to try them at home, but most of the tutorials seemed to be to hard (at least for me). Now, I have this cutie and I will give them a try. This book have everything, how to properly brew a tea, how to make your boba, what kind of equipment you need, even recipe for syrups , jams etc! P.S. wish me luck when I will be trying to recreate "Lady Bug" ;)
I adore bubble tea, but let's be real, buying it can burn a hole in your pocket. And if you try to make it at home without the right recipe, well, let's just say it can turn out pretty disastrous, making you doubt your cooking chops big time.
That's why when I got my hands on this book, I didn't even think twice. The book's got this super cute, anime-inspired vibe that had me all warm and fuzzy inside. What's even cooler is that it takes you from the absolute basics, and it's chock-full of these adorable little drawings that'll keep your eyes glued to the page.
The instructions are crystal clear, and they don't leave any room for messing up. I breezed through the whole thing in just 20 minutes, and now I'm itching to try making my own bubble tea at home. It's so darn perfect that I can't wait to get my hands on a physical copy once it's out.
*Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for providing the eARC in exchange for a review, but all thoughts are my own*
Such a cute read. I actually learned a lot about syrups and fruits and jams. I like the illustrations as well as how they named the drinks. This was an interesting look into a bubble tea and the best and creative ways to make it. Thank you.
Thanks to NetGalley the publishers for the arc.
I saw this and knew I had to read it. There are so many fun drinks in here I want to try. The recipes are pretty simple and give great hints and tips to help you get the best results. The pictures are so cute and everything looks so good!
This is the CUTEST recipe book ever. My 9 year old granddaughter is obsessed with bubble tea and she loves creating her own things. I am going to purchase the actual book for her when it is published - she is absolutely going to love this one.
Great recipes, colours in the book and easy to follow instructions. I also cannot wait to try some of these drinks. My mouth was salivating reading the recipes!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this electronic advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review.
This is a very cute recipe book on how to master the art of bubble tea making. The illustrations were adorable and the recipes were easy to follow. I tried out the green milk tea because that is the only recipe that I had ingredients for. It was delicious. Thank you! I loved the dedication in the book haha! I’m proud of you my fellow Asian sister! You go girl!
Absolutely adorable illustrations, easy to follow recipes and a world of fun to have with new boba adventures on every page.
Bubble tea is amazing but it can be expensive- and the risk of trying something new if you don’t like it doesn’t always feel worth it.
But this recipe book makes it safe to try new things and to make an experience out of it along the way.
What a wonderful recipe book for boba! The illustrations are incredibly adorable and cute, and the recipes are laid out concisely and accessibly for the home kitchen. It's so hard to find a laid out recipe book for milk teas, toppings, and recommendations and recipes on how to add them together smoothly that this book covers it all. This book would make the perfect Christmas gift and a great addition to your aesthetic cookbook shelf!
The perfect book for bubble tea lovers. The pairing of the illustrations with the directions is such a great way to keep the reader engaged. As someone who loves food drawings, I truly adored looking at all these adorable bubble tea illustrations. The colours are soo aesthetic. Can we just give some credit to the combination of cats and drinks because it's such a neat idea. Overall, this was a heartwarming read and I would love to create these drinks some time.
This is the cutest recipe book I've ever seen! I'm excited to try many of the recipes here, and I'm inspired to try making boba from scratch.
Thank you to the authors for such a detailed and instructive, yet adorable, recipe book! I'll enjoy making these for my family.
As someone who loves boba, this book is awesome and adorable. I actually want to try to make my own now. So cute!
Short (65 pages) but beautifully cute book.
My favorite beautiful picture is the little kiwi cat on the side of the drink on page 52.
Some of the smoothies are pleasant and tart. Most rely on making a specific jam ahead of time (e.g. pomelo or kiwi jam) enabling a quicker start for the smoothie once one has the jam made but it takes an extra step of effort to make the “blend and drink” simpler later.
Little details like the “science of ice” make one appreciate the quest for the perfect smoothie. It goes through the basics of different bases and the basics of making “grade A” boba. While it’s cute it’s not simple for kids to make without adult supervision but the art is definitely kawaii. Collectible for boba tea lovers.
this is so cute! the cover really caught my attention, so i tried some of the recipes. i think these are easy to follow and delicious! highly recommend.
Boba tea, bubble tea, whatever you call it, it's delicious!
Kawaii Cafe Bubble Tea is a celebration of the Milk+T bubble tea franchise, and their bubble or boba teas.
This book has everything- from the ideal brewing temperature of different teas to the history of boba (including how to make them from scratch or how to cook ready-made ones), to bubble tea recipes. There are notes for vegan readers, the back story to why certain ingredients or methods are used, and much much more
The recipes sound amazing. They are clearly written and easy to follow, and I've already earmarked some to try at home. The ingredients listed are NOT region-specific (I often find American cookbooks have particular ingredients that do not translate well globally), which makes them accessible. Each recipe is accompanied by a hand-drawn illustration to show the expected results, and often a bit of narrative surrounding the reasoning behind the flavours/names/idea.
I can't wait to get started making my bubble tea using these recipes!
~ Many thanks to NetGalley for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review~
This book lives up to the Kawaii cuteness. It’s short and sweet, with adorable illustrations and easy to follow recipes for fruit teas, milk teas, and everything you need to know to make bubble teas for yourself.
More helpful that I was expecting. It will be a success in our section of geek cookbook.
Cute drawings and great explanations.
I love bubble tea. It is my goto drink when I am out and about, and I have even experimented with making my own at home from scratch. If you also are interested in making some bubble tea at home then Kawaii Café Bubble Tea is here to hold your hand and take you through the process.
This recipe book has 7 distinct sections: Introduction and the origin of bubble tea; the basic of boba; fruit teas; milk teas; speciality drinks; sip’n’dips; and toppings. The first section provides a background in what bubble tea is and where it is from. After that every section details different ways to make you bubble tea. In these sections you will find numerous ways to make different drinks, whether you decide to include the boba into them or not is your choice!
The recipes that I cannot wait to make are the Ladybug (Watermelon & Strawberry Black Tea), the Babybug (Watermelon and Strawberry Refresher), the classic Black Milk Tea, The Piglet (Strawberry Coconut Milk), and The Evelyn (Strawberry Milk Tea). Honestly picking out which drinks I am going to make is the hardest part of this book! So many combinations look very enticing I have no idea where to start.
This recipe book also includes illustrations for each of the drinks, and also the relevant equipment at the beginning of the book. Every drink has an illustration beside it to give you an idea of what the drink will look like, which is a must-have for me. Also, by using an illustration instead of a picture doesn’t give you unrealistic expectations as to how your drink will end up looking. This is very good, epically since you can ass so many different topping to bubble tea that you would need countless images to show all the options available to you!
A very well laid out and easy to follow recipe book that I will certainly be using when I feel like I want some bubble tea at home.
This recipe book is very cute and eye catching! I love the cute drawings and simple recipes all being in one place! If you like boba or different types of drinks this book is packed with easy to do syrups, jams, tea drinks and even a few ice cream drinks. I think there were a few parts of the book that were glossed over like i wish there were different types of boba recipes shown how to be made like a strawberry one, or more additives being listed earlier in the book instead of at the end. Other then that the book is easy to follow and understand and the recipes are easy to try!!
A lovely and very interesting book. It tells you the history of bubble tea and gives some fabulous recipes the tea, flavours, sauces, jams so that you can make the tea at home to your liking.
I really loved this cookbook. It has an amazing array of different drinks to make as well as cute illustrations. I also liked how in the beginning it gives you the corrclect steeping time as well as the right temperature for brewing the different types of teas.
