I enjoyed this poetry collection. This is the first one that really had me wanting to annotate. There was so many relatable moments and moments that I could quote at any time. I'm definitely going to take a look at the authors other poetry collections as well. This is an author whoni will be looking out for in bookstores for the next time they release a new poetry collection.
This was a pleasant read. It wasn't my favorite by Wilder Poetry, but there were some great poems in this collection. As always, the illustrations were gorgeous. The format was fantastic. Either way, I recommend this book. I also recommend you read Wilder Poetry's Golden and Nocturnal...those collections were absolutely amazing.
I LOVED it. I could not stop reading it. It was just amazing and breath taking. You can understand everything well but its still writen nicely
I am a big fan of Wilder poetry and I love how I these poems always resonate with me. This book was great! It wasn't exactly what I expected and it focuses very much on the love between the sun and the moon, which is something I haven't read a hundred times already. So I really enjoyed it. However, I do think I prefer Wilder poetry other works a little more. Overall I would absolutely recommend this book though.
Thank you NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the chance to read and review Eclipse by Wilder Poetry.
This is the second Wilder Poetry book I’ve read, the first being Golden (also via NetGalley). While I wasn’t a fan of Golden, I’m a sucker for a pretty poetry book, and Eclipse is just that.
Unfortunately, and perhaps fortunately, that is all Eclipse is. The illustrations are gorgeous and you just like the vibe of the book; does the poetry have any actual substance to it; absolutely…not.
There is definitely a crowd for Eclipse, and it’s the kind of book I’d want to be on my bookshelf just because it’s so pretty.
The book is quite enjoyable and its phrases are cute, poetry is not my strong point but I think it is very good and the illustrations are a gem, I loved how they handled the drawings although I should add that there are still a lot of white spaces on some pages.
I LOVE every single bit of it! I love how simple the poems are and yet it affects you entirely. The illustrations are beautiful and wonderful to look at. Every words in this book flow well together. Reading it feels quite sentimental; making me miss a lover that I never had. The passages is not just about loving someone but also about loving and appreciating yourself. I love it sooo much!
“This is us holding the universe together like a pinky holds a promise. Even though I am broken in halves, I know you will always find me.”
This was a very sweet collection of poetry. I’m a sucker for any sun/moon imagery and oh my goodness! The illustrations in this book are absolutely stunning. I’m obsessed with them!
I wasn’t terribly invested or moved by the writing but it was a light and pretty read. I’m glad I stumbled across it!
The strength of this poetry book lies in the author's ability to articulate complex emotions with simplicity. Each poem is a carefully crafted expression, revealing the author's keen observation of the human condition. The language is evocative, and the imagery vivid, transporting the reader into the very heart of the emotions being explored. The collection is structured thoughtfully, with each poem flowing seamlessly into the next, creating a cohesive narrative that unfolds organically. The pacing allows for moments of introspection and contemplation, inviting readers to savor the richness of each poem.
Thank you to Netgally for providing this ARC.
I adored this love story between the sun and the moon. If I could give this book all the start in the sky I would. This collection of words just moves the soul. The artwork in the book is also absolutely stunning! I am certainly going to be reading more of Wilder’s poetry.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for making this available..
Wow, wilder has done it again. I fell in love with this as soon as I read the first poem.
The artwork was really beautiful and I loved how the paintings/drawings made this feel like you were reading their journal and connecting with them.
“no matter how dark
i get, i can promise you that i will always carry
your light with me
and love you with all
that i am and all that i have yet to be.”
This is such a beautiful collection of poetry! Eclipse by Wilder Poetry is a poetry collection about the love between the sun and the moon, the contrast between them, and all the symbols around it. It is divided into three parts - "Stars," "Between" and "You and Me," and it is illustrated throughout with images of the sun, the moon, nature, and the universe.
Some of my favorite kinds of poetry is the one that follows themes of the universe, so I knew I had to read this the second I saw the cover and learned what the themes were, and it did not disappoint. It is meaningful in its metaphors to life and love, touching, beautiful, and somehow achingly romantic. It is mainly a very positive collection, which I love, because sad/painful poetry dominates the genre, and it's refreshing to have something filled with mostly love and light.
I have to talk about the illustrations. I always love illustrated poetry collections, but this one is definitely one of my favorites. They're done in a watercolor style, with vivid colors, and clear imagery, and they're so evocative and utterly perfect for all the words that accompany them.
I highly recommend this if you connect to the themes of the sun, the moon. and the universe, and if you'd like to read a lovely poetry collection about love, light, the world, and everything in between.

May I commend first the illustrations and format of this book? It's stunning. It will make your reading experience more relaxing and you'll be able to reflect on it. The poems are simple yet it will actually make you feel. It's a must look forward collection on 2024.
Beautiful book both outside and inside, the cover was what caught my eye initially, but the gorgeous illustrations and poetry inside were what made me keep reading. I used to think I didn't enjoy poetry, but I think this book just changed my mind.
Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for a digital ARC in return for an honest review.

I think I know why I stopped reading this authors work. It lacks a lot of depth of other poets I've read since abandoning this kind. Not for me but I imagine others will eat this up.
This book of poetry was absolutely beautiful along with the significance of detail between the different pages. I loved it and plan on buying a physical copy for myself.
First off, fantastic artwork! This book's formatting was gorgeous.
A love story between the sun and moon. One of the oldest "tales as old as time".
But Wilder was able to give a more modern feeling to the way that these two beings spoke to one another.
The poems embrace love, encouragement, darkness, loneliness, and overall hope.
It's such a treat to come across a beautiful book, and when I say this I mean the illustrations on this and the poetry, it's beautiful at dawn and dusk, and I loved how it made me feel-reminded me of the light in the things that move me. I hope it pleases and inspires other readers too.
And like this piece right here says "The way we shine is a reflection of all that you give. I hope you remember to save some of that light for yourself."
Thanks Netgalley for the eARC.
Thank you netgalley for this ARC. Its been a while since I've read some good poetry and this was such a breath of fresh air for me. Absolutely loved the words and the art work was superb too. I feel soothed.
Not letting me open the book even with downloading it. Can't access the book. But I love the cover and the name.
