I enjoyed this book, the ending was great! It kept me guessing the whole way through, I was thoroughly entertained!!!
I could not put this book down. Read it in 6 hours.
Being a mom is one of the greatest joys of a woman’s life.
So when a young girl goes missing her mom can think of nothing but the worst. Who wouldn’t when there have feen 5 girls before her, 4 who have been missing for up to 10 years and 1 who after 6 months turned up dead in a corn field.
The mom will stop at nothing to find her daughter and her son will stop at nothing to find the killer of his best friend who was the only one of the missing 5 who was killed.
This is a good book about family, community, love, distrust, and strength.
I loved this book and think you will too.
From start ro finish this book was written superbly and I've really become a fan of this author. So many things happening and keeps your wondering from start to end about where the girls actually are.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of this book. Anya Mora can write a story! Wow! This book was excellent! I love the writing style and cast of characters. There was tension and twists on almost every page. Highly recommend
The storyline was what sucked me into the story. But the as it went along is was hard to follow
1 star.
Omg the suspense! It has twists on nearly every single page. I had my own list of suspects but I was surprised by the outcome.
Amazing book!
I was thoroughly engaged throughout this book and I didn't want to put it down! The author captured my attention from the get go! Five stars from me :)
This was a fairly good read, the premise sounded intriguing. However the plot dragged at times, and I struggled to engage with the characters..

This is my first time ever reading one of Anya Mora books. I definitely will be adding more of her books to my tbr list. I loved the book and how well it was put together.
The suspense and action was written and expressed extremely well and timed perfectly, and is definitely worth the read! I was so immersed in the book and finished it in less than a day.

Nine year old Jubilee has been adopted into a loving home with five new siblings and she can't believe her eyes and heart when she sees her new home and surroundings. Her very own bedroom and a set of gentle, loving new parents who have chosen her to be part of their wonderful family.
Unknown to Jubilee, all is not as stable as appearances suggest and there have been young girls gone missing over the years in this particular county. When the family's close friends' fifteen year old daughter goes missing, all the neighbors are in shock and fear while never expecting that a few days later one of their own beautiful daughters will also become one of the missing.
How could this safe community become a place of nefarious dangers when it was always the best place to settle down and raise a family. Can it be a stranger in their midst or is the predator a "wolf in sheep's clothing" who is kidnapping their daughters who are never to be seen again?
An entertaining and interesting domestic mystery that had my attention in the beginning. The storyline was filled with unanswered questions and may be a puzzle to many readers although I figured it out (the villain or villains) pretty early due to some obvious "hidden in plain sight" clues. A quick read and though a dark subject I found the the adult characters very flat and I was unable to connect to their emotions since many of their reactions were inappropriate and stilted for many of the situations (imo). All the parents were too flawed in their behaviors with the way they were handling their children's needs and problems, sometimes they held too strict a rein and other times the parents were just lax or cavalier in the care of their children and what they were doing. I loved all the kids and the parents not so much!
There were just way too many consistencies for my liking especially with the dark nature of the book. Sometimes the families almost felt almost cult-like in some of the women's subservient attitudes with their husbands and the style of clothing they wore yet it surprised me that they all had cell phones which didn't align with all the old fashioned mannerisms that were confusing and off-putting to me because I wanted to know more about some of the characters personal histories and I just never found the answers I was looking for within the story. I know many readers will enjoy this book but it just wasn't the best one for myself.
I do recommend this story to other mystery readers and base their own opinions because there have been many terrific reviews written for this book.
I want to thank the publisher "Joffe Books" and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this digital copy and any thoughts or opinions expressed are unbiased and mine alone!
I have given a rating of 2 1/2 CURIOUS AND DISAPPOINTING 🌟🌟🌠 STARS!!
I really wasn’t a fan of this book. I will give the author another go, but this one wasn’t for me. I didn’t like the writing style and that kept me from getting engaged in the storyline.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this book. Girls are disappearing in a small town and no one knows why or how to find them. Then a newly adopted nine year old goes missing. This was a fast paced read with a surprise at the end.
Fantastic book.
Harrowing tale of a lonely little girl who has found her forever home. The family welcomes her with open arms along with all her quirks.
Then girls start to go missing again . This book keeps you guessing til the very end expertly written with loads of twist and turns.
Highly recommended read
Thanks net galley for this very interesting book about families in a town in America who love having children making their own clothes and cooking but not everything was so great in the community.
Someone was taking little girls keeping them locked up for years and one had recently been killed.
Annie and David had just adopted a little girl called Jubilee whom the whole family adored, but Jubilee climbed out of her window one night thinking the family did not love her and sh also went missing.
This book was easy reading and I enjoyed it very.much. Thank
At first I thought this book was too far fetched..It was all a bit strange, these women sewing their own clothes and leaving decisions to their husbands "the head of the house" Surely no one lives like that nowadays. Then I realised I was looking at it from a UK point of view and that there were several communities and religions in the US that do live like this. After that I began to enjoy the story. I did think the local police were a bit complacent about the fact that over the last ten years several young girls had gone missing, the most recent just three months before. To be fair they were invested in the recent disappearance of Leah and really pulled out the stops when Jubilee went missing but it seemed to me that their attitude towards the older cases was well we tried, let's move on. I enjoyed the book but I thought the end was a bit predictable, or maybe I just read too many books.. I have read work by this author before and really liked them but I thought this one was pretty average. All the same it won't stop me looking out for her books in the future.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book
Jubilee is not the first girl to go missing in our town. They found a body out in the cornfield — bones broken, a beautiful young girl gone.
A solid mystery with good tension and plot twists.
I was quite disappointed with The Little Girl I Always Wanted. The description sounded great but the book completely missed the mark for me. There was very little emotion in the book and the ending was quite disappointing.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my ARC.
This book didn't grip me I'm afraid.I found the characters wooden and one-dimensional. I also noticed confusing mistakes in the names. I thought Annie was rather like a Stepford wife, defined by housework and feeding people.
I was really disappointed by this novel.
Having read another couple of books by the author, and being excited by the premise of this one, I read it almost straight away.
The story lacked depth as a whole, and the dialogue in particular wasn’t well written - it came across very stilted and fake rather than flowing. There were no characters I warmed to, and I wasn’t invested in the storyline. It was also very predictable.
Completely missed the mark for me.
