Release date: January, 20th

This book belongs to the True Love Serie:
1. Not in a Billion Years
2. Baby, One More Time

Tropes:
🏫School Sweethearts

💙Second Chance Romance
🐣Pregnancy (IVF rep)
👨🏻Single Dad

📖Marisa and Dear John were school sweethearts until prom night when something happened that left Marissa crying and heartbroken. Since then Marissa banished his persona from existence until she decided to have a baby by IVF (in vitro fertilization). Surprise surprise, Dear John comes back to her life as her doctor substitute in an awful yet comic situation where she is prepared for a gynecological exploration (so yes, with her legs spread)

✨And as an ARC that has not yet been published, I can't say much more without spoiling you. The book was easy to read but as I used to Camilla's books being my go-to, this one left me wanting a bit more. I think I would do some things differently for it to be more plausible and I would have expected a longer end because it felt slightly abrupt.

“And I know that I haven’t been that safe harbor for you in the past, but I swear Marissa, I am that man now. I’ll be everything you’ve ever wanted and more. I tried life without you and really did not like it. I don’t care how long I have to wait, you’re worth every second.” And just like that you know that John and Marissa are mean together if he can convince her he is not going anywhere and he is going to saty forever after breaking her heart sister years ago. A great love story

Oh wow! This is definitely hopeful for women struggling with infertility and being a woman finding love while building a family! The plot was suitable to the romance novel and family dynamic. The single dad trope with ex high school sweet hearts with second chances is what I needed and I’m sure you will devour this quickly like I did! There are so many tropes and honest descriptions like IVF pain and struggles this book will stay highly recommended with me for a long time and I’m so glad an author actually wrote about this instead of the accidental pregnant trope. Pregnancy can happen many different ways and that’s not a bad thing. Thank you so much to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley sooooo much for letting me read this!

A good, fun book. I liked it but let’s not take it too seriously. The build up to the big event on the prologue probably over egged the pudding a. It but then that would be tricky because if it was as dramatic as it first sounded we’d have to hate young Johnny a lot. And I’m pretty sure the mix up throwing them back together just ALL has to be taken with a pinch of salt. But otherwise it was a fun read and I’m glad the inevitable bump in the road was quite natural. If I have any fault with the novel it’s that Marissa was a bit of a melt.

Marissa Mayer is beautiful, successful and has everything she want except… love which she gave up on and a baby… which is why she decided to become a mother through IVF

John Raikes aka s the man that broke marissa heart at 18 with no explanation is now a divorced single dad and is also a super smart world neonatal surgeon

So imagine Marissa surprised when John( who she hasn’t seen in 16 years) turns out to be filling in for her normal doctor. And to make matter even worse by some freak accident the clinic ends of fertilizing her eggs with his sperm so now she pregnant with her high school sweethearts baby..

Now that they are basically forced to be in each other lives, John wants a second chance and has to prove to Marrisa he’s worthy of one.

I honestly wish we saw more of them as a couple, even though they did get their HEA we didn’t really get to see it. Also, I wish a few topic were discuss in more detail. I personally don’t like when kids talk like adults in books, I had to keep making sure John daughter was like 6/7 and not 16.

Overall I did enjoy the story, and I look forward to reading the last book in this trilogy.

Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.

I am a sucker for any trope involving a baby so I loved this book!

I found BABY, ONE MORE TIME to be unique because it involved IVF. Marissa was the total independent woman and was ready to have a baby. She couldn’t foresee her ex who broke her heart at 18 being the neonatal specialist she’d run into.

This had a lot of swoon but also a lot of emotions which I really loved.

This is perfect for fans of second chance romance, multiple POV, and no smut’

I wanted to love this as an IVF mom, but I couldn’t.

Marissa is a total boss babe who has it all - except a baby. So she goes to the IVF clinic to make her dreams come true. It’s there she ran into John - who is now some neonatal specialist who is working in an IVF clinic? - who broke her heart at 18. A random mixup at the lab brings John back into her life and we watch Marissa struggle with this.

I don’t want to give spoilers, but what happened at the lab? Nothing to just shrug off like happened in the book. I was confused over timelines (they can feel the baby kicking from the outside at 18 weeks?), why John broke Marissa’s heart, and Marissa’s back and forth will she or won’t she annoyed me.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for this ARC

I loved this book! It was so fun, sweet, and cute. It was so addictive and easy to read, leading me to read it in just a few hours.

Marissa, our FMC, is an intelligent, successful, driven, and passionate woman. I loved reading Marissa. I loved that she's utterly successful and a career woman and, at the same time, wants to become a mother. I understood and felt her emotions and trust issues. I mean, who wouldn't have problems trusting the guy who broke your heart so badly? And Marissa handled it perfectly. She needed the time, the reassurance and the getting to know the new man John was.

John, our MMC, was a walking green flag with his charming smile and tender heart. At first, I didn't think I'd say that about him as he so callously broke Marissa's heart. But I loved reading about the man John had become and how he so devotedly and resolutely tried to win Marissa back. He owned his past mistake and, most importantly, made sure to show Marissa that he wasn't that boy anymore.

It was clear Marissa and John were meant to be together, and I'm so happy to have read their lovely story. And I know many people will love this book as well. Also, I can't wait to read more books by Camilla Isley!

So, this kinda didn’t workout for me.

The story as it is - is okay. Going trough IVF when you are ready and being bosslady, but I just couldn’t like her.

His reason for dropping her is also no go.

Ugh, I just didn't really like this one; But I wanted to, so badly. The writing style just felt immature. Calling a woman's vagina a "doo-dah" just...isn't for me. The FMC just rubbed me the wrong way, and the insta-love aspect from the MMC wasn't for me.

Wow! This book was such a fun read. I loved Marissa and John and found myself hoping that they would get together the whole time. He was such a sweet guy, but she was also a great character. Their romance was so sweet and cute. I also liked the bonds they had with other characters in it. I'm going to have to read the first in this series since this one was so great.

First off, the tropes and premise of this book are SO GOOD!! Yup, there's Second Chance, High School Sweetheart, Single Parent, sub-tropes: Accidental Pregnancy and Miscommunication. I know many readers hate the last two, but they didn't turn into the whole plot.

I love the increased tension with almost the proximity trope, with their residences, Marissa still going to the same fertility clinic, and their families. Kids and relatives are always a great addition as side characters, and so I'm so happy with the bonds shared in this book. The scene at thanksgiving was honestly priceless, made me actually laugh out loud. In addition, this little chaos in the middle which I know became the whole plot of a Bollywood movie, but I enjoyed how Isley kept it on the side.

John is such a green flag and despite all the ways he could have justified the past, he kept it simple. He's patient, persistent, and ALWAYS there for Marissa. I adored the way he gave her space when she needed it and didn't force anything upon her. The chemistry between both MCs is always sizzling and for once their stories and fear were entirely believable.

Everything apart, this is a genuinely brilliant book with a unique combination of ideas that make for an awesome read. It's a feel-good read that'll make you laugh and swoon, and honestly, I think it's just time well spent. Go get yourself a copy of this book ASAP and enjoy the writing.

This book had endearing moments, but I couldn’t get over the fact that the entire time what was holding her back from love is what someone did on the verge of adulthood, it came up so many times that it was getting old and annoying. The book did have cute sweet moments, but overall it was one of the harder books I’ve read lately to get into.

Really enjoyed this fun, lighthearted romance. Even better — it was a second chance romance. Camilla Isley is awesome!

When I started this book I didn't knew how much would I conect with the characters and their story.
This is the story of Marissa a succesful woman who want to have a baby and during her IVF process, when she goes to her Obstetrician she runs into her high School Sweetheart that broke his heart 16 years ago. Akward!!!
She hate him, but him can't stop thinking about her and they way he broke her heart so John makes a plan to apologize and win her back.
These 2 characters are in for a ride when the hospital mixed their genes in her IVF cycle, so she could be pregnant with his baby.
John up the game and started doing anything for her, to show her he wouldnt leave again and how he will be an amazing dad.
This book was so adorable in every way that counts, Dr. Sweet should be his name like they way he was always doing little things for her and their baby but giving her the space she needed. I don't there was something so comforting of him been always there for her.
If you love a:
-2nd chance romance.
-It always been you.
-High school sweethearts.
-Single Dad.
This is the book for you, John it's one of the sweetest MC that I've a read and Marissa it's susch a badass FC, and togheter they made the cutest family.

Slow clap for the most awkward way to ever run into your ex of 16 years: at the gyno and he’s your doctor.
Immediately: hooked.

Second Chance Romance
High school sweethearts
Single dad
Closed door
Badass female COO
IVF/Fertility journey
Female friendships

Camilla did a beautiful job writing this second chance romance. She navigated the complexities of the experience and the path to forgiveness well.
John kind of broke my heart too, and I was team Marissa the whole way through. Love that they got their HEA and how well Not In A Billion Years set their story up.
Can’t wait for Thomas’ book!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

This was vey cute! Quick easy read with many tropes (second chance and enemies to lovers). I really enjoy Camilla Isleys writing and I hope there’s another book in this series (although they can be read as standalone).

Camilla Isley is a writing goddess. I do not know how she does it. This author writes and publishes so many books a year and delivers a unique take on a cute fulfilling romance. This book was no exception. I adore both of the MC's in this book, appreciating their strong characters and growth throughout the story. If contemporary romance is for you, this book full of the booktok tropes is right up your street. an easy, enjoyable, read!
