I am a sucker for any trope involving a baby so I loved this book!

I found BABY, ONE MORE TIME to be unique because it involved IVF. Marissa was the total independent woman and was ready to have a baby. She couldn’t foresee her ex who broke her heart at 18 being the neonatal specialist she’d run into.

This had a lot of swoon but also a lot of emotions which I really loved.

This is perfect for fans of second chance romance, multiple POV, and no smut’

I wanted to love this as an IVF mom, but I couldn’t.

Marissa is a total boss babe who has it all - except a baby. So she goes to the IVF clinic to make her dreams come true. It’s there she ran into John - who is now some neonatal specialist who is working in an IVF clinic? - who broke her heart at 18. A random mixup at the lab brings John back into her life and we watch Marissa struggle with this.

I don’t want to give spoilers, but what happened at the lab? Nothing to just shrug off like happened in the book. I was confused over timelines (they can feel the baby kicking from the outside at 18 weeks?), why John broke Marissa’s heart, and Marissa’s back and forth will she or won’t she annoyed me.

I loved this book! It was so fun, sweet, and cute. It was so addictive and easy to read, leading me to read it in just a few hours.

Marissa, our FMC, is an intelligent, successful, driven, and passionate woman. I loved reading Marissa. I loved that she's utterly successful and a career woman and, at the same time, wants to become a mother. I understood and felt her emotions and trust issues. I mean, who wouldn't have problems trusting the guy who broke your heart so badly? And Marissa handled it perfectly. She needed the time, the reassurance and the getting to know the new man John was.

John, our MMC, was a walking green flag with his charming smile and tender heart. At first, I didn't think I'd say that about him as he so callously broke Marissa's heart. But I loved reading about the man John had become and how he so devotedly and resolutely tried to win Marissa back. He owned his past mistake and, most importantly, made sure to show Marissa that he wasn't that boy anymore.

It was clear Marissa and John were meant to be together, and I'm so happy to have read their lovely story. And I know many people will love this book as well. Also, I can't wait to read more books by Camilla Isley!

So, this kinda didn’t workout for me.

The story as it is - is okay. Going trough IVF when you are ready and being bosslady, but I just couldn’t like her.

His reason for dropping her is also no go.

Ugh, I just didn't really like this one; But I wanted to, so badly. The writing style just felt immature. Calling a woman's vagina a "doo-dah" just...isn't for me. The FMC just rubbed me the wrong way, and the insta-love aspect from the MMC wasn't for me.

Wow! This book was such a fun read. I loved Marissa and John and found myself hoping that they would get together the whole time. He was such a sweet guy, but she was also a great character. Their romance was so sweet and cute. I also liked the bonds they had with other characters in it. I'm going to have to read the first in this series since this one was so great.

First off, the tropes and premise of this book are SO GOOD!! Yup, there's Second Chance, High School Sweetheart, Single Parent, sub-tropes: Accidental Pregnancy and Miscommunication. I know many readers hate the last two, but they didn't turn into the whole plot.

I love the increased tension with almost the proximity trope, with their residences, Marissa still going to the same fertility clinic, and their families. Kids and relatives are always a great addition as side characters, and so I'm so happy with the bonds shared in this book. The scene at thanksgiving was honestly priceless, made me actually laugh out loud. In addition, this little chaos in the middle which I know became the whole plot of a Bollywood movie, but I enjoyed how Isley kept it on the side.

John is such a green flag and despite all the ways he could have justified the past, he kept it simple. He's patient, persistent, and ALWAYS there for Marissa. I adored the way he gave her space when she needed it and didn't force anything upon her. The chemistry between both MCs is always sizzling and for once their stories and fear were entirely believable.

Everything apart, this is a genuinely brilliant book with a unique combination of ideas that make for an awesome read. It's a feel-good read that'll make you laugh and swoon, and honestly, I think it's just time well spent. Go get yourself a copy of this book ASAP and enjoy the writing.

This book had endearing moments, but I couldn’t get over the fact that the entire time what was holding her back from love is what someone did on the verge of adulthood, it came up so many times that it was getting old and annoying. The book did have cute sweet moments, but overall it was one of the harder books I’ve read lately to get into.

Really enjoyed this fun, lighthearted romance. Even better — it was a second chance romance. Camilla Isley is awesome!

When I started this book I didn't knew how much would I conect with the characters and their story.
This is the story of Marissa a succesful woman who want to have a baby and during her IVF process, when she goes to her Obstetrician she runs into her high School Sweetheart that broke his heart 16 years ago. Akward!!!
She hate him, but him can't stop thinking about her and they way he broke her heart so John makes a plan to apologize and win her back.
These 2 characters are in for a ride when the hospital mixed their genes in her IVF cycle, so she could be pregnant with his baby.
John up the game and started doing anything for her, to show her he wouldnt leave again and how he will be an amazing dad.
This book was so adorable in every way that counts, Dr. Sweet should be his name like they way he was always doing little things for her and their baby but giving her the space she needed. I don't there was something so comforting of him been always there for her.
If you love a:
-2nd chance romance.
-It always been you.
-High school sweethearts.
-Single Dad.
This is the book for you, John it's one of the sweetest MC that I've a read and Marissa it's susch a badass FC, and togheter they made the cutest family.

Slow clap for the most awkward way to ever run into your ex of 16 years: at the gyno and he’s your doctor.
Immediately: hooked.

Second Chance Romance
High school sweethearts
Single dad
Closed door
Badass female COO
IVF/Fertility journey
Female friendships

Camilla did a beautiful job writing this second chance romance. She navigated the complexities of the experience and the path to forgiveness well.
John kind of broke my heart too, and I was team Marissa the whole way through. Love that they got their HEA and how well Not In A Billion Years set their story up.
Can’t wait for Thomas’ book!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

This was vey cute! Quick easy read with many tropes (second chance and enemies to lovers). I really enjoy Camilla Isleys writing and I hope there’s another book in this series (although they can be read as standalone).

Camilla Isley is a writing goddess. I do not know how she does it. This author writes and publishes so many books a year and delivers a unique take on a cute fulfilling romance. This book was no exception. I adore both of the MC's in this book, appreciating their strong characters and growth throughout the story. If contemporary romance is for you, this book full of the booktok tropes is right up your street. an easy, enjoyable, read!

Ooh this was a super sweet one! I think I’ve read nearly all of @camillaisley books at this point and you can always rely on them for fun, lighthearted and sweet romances!

Do you remember that film with JLo called the Back up plan and a really similar one with Jennifer Anniston and Jason Bateman that came out around the same time called The Switch? Well I loved both of them and if you did too then I think you will really enjoy this book as the storyline/feelings definitely give me vibes of both of those films a lot.

“Driven and smart, Marissa Mayer has worked her way to COO at a major Fintech startup as well as launching her own successful app on the side. Now what she wants more than anything is a baby. And having given up on love after her heart was broken by the boy next door, she’s prepared to do it alone.

Recently returning to New York from LA, Dr John Raikes is an expert in his field of neonatal medicine. But when John introduces himself as Marissa’s doctor, sparks fly, and not in a good way. Because Dr John Raikes is no stranger: he’s her teenage sweetheart all grown up.

Marissa knows she should keep John at arm’s length, lest she have her heart broken again... But there’s something about a man in a white coat. And with John determined to show Marissa he’s changed, can she keep saying no when her heart is saying yes?”

This comes out on January 20th!

I was so excited to see that Camilla Isley had another book coming out! I was even more excited when I realized it was the next book in the True Love series. Not in a Billion Years is this first book in the series. Baby, One More Time delivered! This book can be read as a stand-alone but as it is only the second book in the series, why not read Not in a Billion Years as well.

Marissa Mayer wants a baby. She hasn't had a significant relationship since her high school boyfriend broke her heart. She is a successful COO at a major Fintech startup. She also has a successful app on the side. So, she decides why not and begins the process of becoming a mother through IVF.

Dr John Raikes is an expert in neonatal medicine. She also happens to be the one who broke Marissa's heart in high school. He has personal reasons for moving back to New York.

When Marissa's doctor is out of town, she is told she is going to see another doctor that day. Imagine the shock on both their faces as Marissa and John are reunited after sixteen years. What a way to meet again. UGH! John wants to prove he is a changed man; He knows he made a huge mistake and wants a second chance. Marissa doesn't know if she can trust him. Both feel the attraction, but does he deserve a second chance?????

I was fully invested in this book from the very beginning. I didn't want to put it down and found reasons to keep reading. Both characters are likeable and have likeable people in their lives. Speaking of likeable people, Marissa and Blake, from Not in a Billion Years are best friends and their stories overlap in this book which was a nice touch. I enjoyed reading about Blake and Gabriel again.

There is plenty of drama in this book. Marissa was hurt and struggles with trust and taking chances. I could feel her hesitancy and wanted to tell her to take the leap. John has grown since the night he broke Marissa's heart. He has changed and sets out to prove that. He also had a little helper who stole every scene she was in.

I found this book to be gripping and heartwarming. I loved the mix of drama, humor, touching moments, indecision, and the journey John and Marissa went on. It's all about the journey in romance books for me.

This was an addictive second chance romance/enemies-to-lovers book! I loved seeing Blake and Gabriel again. I enjoyed the overlapping stories but mainly I enjoyed the journey in this book. Plus, readers get both Marissa and John's POV's which was also a very nice touch.

This book touches on IVF, second chances, family, love, friendship, trust, and starting over.

Gripping, well written, and heartwarming.

Baby One More Time was witty, heartwarming, and a fun read. Granted, at least for me, I wish our FMC would have forgiven the MMC a little faster, especially considering he was 18 at the time of his transgressions. This story was cute with the sweetest little girl. And who doesn't love a single dad and a heroine that is a complete boss? It had everything to make it a sweet, fun romcom.

Camilla Isley’s book “Baby one more time” is a hilarious and heartwarming story about two school sweethearts who broke up in a heartbreaking way after prom.

I’m such a fan of the author since I discovered her in the middle of the Covid pandemia. Her stories never disappoint you. They are light, funny and full of second chances.
Particularly, this story was a bit extreme bordering to exaggerated but it was actually what makes it funny at the end. It was also incredibly imaginative to say the least.

I suggest reading “Not in a billion years” which is the story of Blake, Marissa”s best friend, and Gabriel Mercer. They are important supporting characters in “Baby one more time” and sort completes the whole scenario. I hope that Thomas Mercer, Gabriel’s brother, gets his own story as well.

I strongly recommend it if what you are looking for is to unwind and relax for a few hours. This is a story that will allow to get you mind of any stress you may have in your life. It was lovely!

Thanks NetGalley and Boldwood Books Ltd for accepting my request to have a copy.

This book surprised me in the best way! I'm always drawn to books about pregnancy, babies, etc. but they often end up falling flat for me. This was certainly not the case here though! Marissa and John were highschool sweethearts, torn apart, and then reunited 16 years later. To say it wasn't a pleasant reunion is an understatement (IYKYK), but I loved following their journey back to one another! Highly recommend if you're looking for a sweet, second chance romcom ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
