This book was a cute romance with a slow burn between the characters.

The side characters definitely added to the story & I would be interested to read other books in this series.

This was just ok for me. It would make a great hallmark type movie, but it was hard for me to get through(as a book). It had a lot of description that didn’t further the plot.
I skimmed through a lot of it.
I did love the grandma and their relationship. I also enjoyed hearing about the food and cooking.
I loved the setting- made me want to take a trip to the mountains!

It’s just me. Alone in a mansion with a famous Hollywood heartthrob. Pretending to be his girlfriend. Shout out to Grandma for getting me here.

After Grandma hurts her ankle, she asks me to come home so I can take care of her VIP client. Clean his sprawling mansion, do grocery runs, the works.

Turns out the client is Hollywood superstar Jake Leonard.

That’s fine.

I can handle the rich and famous.

What I can’t handle is his vicious ex-girlfriend who shows up on his doorstep and demands to know who I am.

I also can’t handle the way he puts his arm around my shoulders, the way he squeezes me against his side, and the way he tells his ex that I’m his new girlfriend.

And oh yeah, we’re living together, too.

I don’t want to play along. But Jake makes me an offer I can’t refuse. And the more I play house with him, the more I start to wonder if our fake relationship could turn into something real.

I love this trope and this book did not disappoint at all. Loved it

I unfortunately just could not get into this one. I wanted to because it’s a lot of my favorite microtropes but man oh man I could not. It just was not for me sadly. Well written with good characters tho so if that’s you’re thing then you’ll love it!!

What a lovely book! I really liked this small town/celebrity romance. The main character were really amazing and I'm just a lover of the fake dating trope! I really liked that ending too.
I didn't know this was a series of books, but it definitely can be read as a stand alone.

Thank you to Netgally, the publishers, and Mia Summers

When I requested this book I was unaware that it was apart of a series, one that requires you to read the previous books for this one to make sense. I am unable to read all the previous books along with this one before the publish date. Therefore, I will rate this a fair 3/5 stars and will adjust the rating and review when I am able to read all the books in the series along with this one.

Delilah and the actor: Ditch the binder!📒

I found The Reel Deal entertaining, especially the way Delilah, the female lead, has her preconceived notions of her grandmother's wealthy employer blown out of the water. Jake may have tons of money but he's not the demanding, pretentious guy she expects. The fake dating trope worked, and I liked that the clingy actress that Jake colluded with Delilah to escape gets her own brief chance for redemption.

Thanks to publisher Sterling & Stone and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

This is a cute story, a relaxing read for a Sunday afternoon where you don't need to worry much. It did start out nice enough - a fake relationship with a famous movie star? Who wouldn't want that. While Jake and Delilah are attracted to each other right away, it is still quite the slow burn. Tropes: fake dating, small town, billionaire romance.
But unfortunately, it wasn't my thing in the end. The characters were a bit flat, their interactions didn't feel natural, and the writing style was a bit "try-too-hard". Parts could have been expanded on, while other things, such as the restaurant's menu, didn't need to take up so much space. I didn't understand how they felt so strongly for each other, it just didn't come across, and they had just met. I also didn't understand why the "plot twist" towards the end was such a big deal for all the characters. All in all, personally, I won't read the rest of the series, as there were too many little things (in the writing style) that weren't for me, but if you're looking for a light, quick read, this may be for you.

I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I am all about the fake dating trope. Hilarious that grandma was the cause of this one.

Fun romcom romp that was a blast to read while waiting in line at the pharmacy. While the title is punny the plot perks along without being too cheesy.

The story of Delilah and Jake was very sweet! Loved how Delilah was not impressed by Jake's movie star status and how Jake was adorably smitten by Delilah almost from the beginning. Throw in cute but meddling grandmother, a couple of opinionated best friends, and an ex on a mission, and what you have is a great fake dating story with plenty of romantic moments.

Unfortunately, I got stuck and was not able to move forward on to the next chapters. Somehow, it lacks the element that captivates my attention on the first few pages in.

The third book in this series and my third Mia Summers book. Jake Leonard was introduced in book 2 as Logan's friend in a toxic relationship and now he's the star of book #3. Delilah is taking care of her grandmother in the small town of Elk River after an accident that led to a broken foot. Grandma does housekeeping for Jake and Mia must help keep up his house as her grandma is out of commission. When Jake's toxic ex shows up, Delilah and Jake strike a bargain: She pretends to be his girlfriend to get his crazy ex off of his case while she stalks him in town for the next two weeks and Jake will help Delilah get her art into a gallery for a showing.

I think this book is my favorite of the series, honestly. I was so happy that there wasn't a huge focus on papparazzi, lots of beautiful landscapes detailed in the writing, and two really likable main characters. I even liked the element of the crazy ex Zoe, she's written very well to be despised. The descriptions of Delilah painting by the lake were quite lovely. Delilah's spunky grandmother Agnes is incredibly cute. My favorite thing about this book was that it didn't follow a similar formula to the first two. Very cute, closed door romance.

I loved this book! It hits on all my favourite tropes, a fake girlfriend-to-lovers situation, and famous person vs common folk. And unlike Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood, The Reel Deal did not make me cringe at all. In fact, I found all the scenes to be super adorable and tastefully written. The author did a fantastic job writing the romantic tension between Jake and Delilah.

Typically, I don't like reading stories with alternating narrative perspectives, but The Reel Deal does it very well. I found that it provided an intimate look at how Jake and Delilah felt during that moment and I really appreciated

The overall conflict with Zoe, the ex-girlfriend, felt to be under-developed. It came off as a typical villain for the main characters to navigate around, which is perfectly fine, however, I thought that the story made a weird decision near the end of the story.

Overall, this novel was such a fun and light-hearted read. I loved how descriptive the food scenes were. And the eloquent descriptions of the paintings were very well done, I could truly imagine it in my mind as I read. If you're looking for a light-hearted read, I recommend giving The Reel Deal a try.

I read ‘Love interest #9’, the second book in the ‘Big star, small town’ series by Mia Summers and I enjoyed it a lot, so I was happy to receive book three as an advanced reading copy. Lukas and Rachel from book two pop up every now and then, which was fun. Although this is part three, the book can be read as a standalone.
The book is about Delila and Jake. Delila returns to the small town Elk Ridge to take care of her grandmother who broke her foot, but she ends up at the house of famous actor Jake Leonard. Delila’s grandmother is his housekeeper and since she broke her foot, her gran persuades her to do some chores for him in her absence. But then Jake’s ex-girlfriend shows up and Jake introduces Delila as his girlfriend, hoping that will shoo her away. Delila plays along and she ends up staying at his mansion for two weeks, in which the relationship blossoms…
This book is a sweet story about two people with totally different lives but are basically both looking for trust, acknowledgment, being seen and loved and cherished for who they are on the inside.
There are a few things in the storylines that seemed too good to be true or realistic, but it does add to the feel-good vibe that you want. Jake is a sweet man and Delila is very caring and authentic.
I valued that Mia Summers kept this a clean story, instead focusing on the relationship and the story.
I can recommend this book and I hope you’ll enjoy it like I did.
I received and reviewed an advanced copy of this book and I am grateful for this opportunity. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you Netgalley and Starling and Stone Publishers for the opportunity to review this book.

While I have not read the first two, I gave it a try anyways. I do enjoy a fake dating scenario after all. I wasn't overly enthralled by the characters, they kind of felt a little flat, but for a simple hallmark type scenario it was cute.
