I love a fake dating romance, and The Reel Deal didn’t disappoint on that front. It was a quick read, with good characters. My only qualm was just that unfortunately, it was quick. The fake dating came into play so soon that I barely had time to get to know the characters, which is why it’s a 3 for me, not a 4.

Thanks to NetGalley and Sterling & Stone for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

so my first ever #Netgalley book review is here and also in their exclusive #NetGalleyReadingJournal
i thoroughly enjoyed the book, the characters, the pacing and all the literary writing, chef's kiss 💋
Delilah and Jake hold such a special bond with them, they just clicked the moment they met with, "I'm the jerk you can't wait to meet".
🎀 it is not out of the world with humanly emotions and understanding and respect and humane nature of how they venture through their difficult emotions for each other, but yet the patience with which Jake handles Delilah's anxious nerves and helps her believe that yes she is worth every effort and how Delilah reciprocates her love by being with Jake and showing him that he would love his peace and solace if only he gets to share it with his beloved.
🎀 infact i have added the last slide (in my post) to show their comfort and ease around each other and how i really enjoyed it.

This wasn't great for me, i'm not sure how to explain why - the set up is good, as far as tropes, and being forced together, but the two characters didn't draw me in

The Reel Deal
3.5 stars
Thank you to NetGalley, Sterling & Stone, and the author herself for allowing me to read this book!
Fake dating has quickly become one of my favorite tropes and this book absolutely had me loving it even more. Its characters are engaging, and the rom-com feel of it was fantastic – it had me giggling along the way. A cozy little romance for a light easy read. I look forward to reading more from Mia Summers!

The Reel Deal by Mia Summers is an entertaining Hollywood read with some meddling characters involved. It makes for a funny and endearing story.

Thankyou NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book
Main characters: Jake and Delilah, Zoe (Jake’s ex), Agnes (Delilah’s grandmother)
Plot: Jake is a hollywood heartthrod an Delilah is his housekeeper, Agnes’ granddaughter. When Jake’s ex, Zoe, turns up at his doorstep, he enlists the help of Delilah and they enter in a fake relationship. The two get to know each other and fall in love on the way.
Character Development: Delilah grows as a person and we get a glimpse of Jake as a good man.
What I liked: The characters, the description of various places and things. A glimpse into the lives of Hollywood celebrities.
What I did not like: The forced dialogues between the characters and some of Delilah’s mean statements to Jake.

The Reel Deal is such a cute meet cute.
The title of this book, The Reel Deal, is very clever and right on point.

The third part features a few Hollywood actors and this one is also very entertaining.
She comes home to support her grandmother, he needs help around the house.
She wants to paint most of all, he wants to have peace and quiet before Hollywood.
A beautiful cozy romance, peppered with a drama queen as an ex-girlfriend.
Nice story, good characters and a great grandma.
Have fun reading for yourself!

The Reel Deal proves itself as a true gem with its engaging characters and binge-worthy format, offering the perfect literary escape for a relaxing evening. While I maintain reservations about the book's romantic idealism, its humorous narrative and compelling storytelling cannot be overlooked. The infusion of humour not only entertains but also serves as a reminder of the therapeutic power of laughter in our lives. The bingeable format caters to the fast-paced lifestyles of contemporary readers, making the book a standout in the literary landscape. Despite my skepticism towards love at first sight, The Reel Deal prompts introspection and challenges readers to embrace the enchanting possibilities that fiction can bring. In a world filled with uncertainties, this book stands as a welcome respite, inviting readers to immerse themselves in a realm where love, laughter, and the unexpected reign supreme. The reason I gave The Reel Deal three stars is because of the predictable nature of the plot. Despite its entertaining characters and bingeable format, if the storyline follows a conventional and expected trajectory without many surprising twists or turns, it may leave some readers craving a more complex and unpredictable narrative. While the humour and escapism are commendable, the lack of narrative innovation might lead to a less-than-enthusiastic three-star rating for those seeking a more challenging or unconventional reading experience.

Thank you to netgalley and Sterling & Stone for allowing me to read this book. I absolutely love fake dating trope and this fixed my itch for it.

I have loved this series so much And the Reel Deal is no different. Another forced fake dating trope ans I absolutely loved the dynamics and baggage do the main characters. And the last twist at the end surprised me in a good way.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
3.1 rounded down to 3/5.
Mia Summers' "The Reel Deal" takes readers on a whirlwind romantic journey when Delilah is called home to care for her grandmother's VIP client, Hollywood superstar Jake Leonard. The story unfolds with a cute and quick narrative, offering a fluffy read set against a backdrop of great scenery descriptions.
The premise introduces us to the complications of Delilah's new role, not just as a caretaker for Jake's sprawling mansion but also as his pretend girlfriend to ward off a troublesome ex-girlfriend. The story's uncomplicated nature is both a strength and a weakness, contributing to its easy flow but also leaving certain aspects underdeveloped.
The strengths lie in the picturesque descriptions that immerse readers in the story's setting, providing a pleasant backdrop to the unfolding events. The concept of a fake relationship turning into something real adds an intriguing layer to the plot, and the book maintains a quick pace throughout.
However, certain weaknesses hinder the overall experience. The dialogue occasionally feels forced, and the ending comes quicker than anticipated, lacking the desired build-up of chemistry between Jake and Delilah. The characters, including the main protagonists, feel two-dimensional, and their relationships progress too rapidly in places, leaving readers longing for more depth.
The lack of a genuine connection between Jake and Delilah is a notable flaw, making their romantic involvement feel somewhat abrupt. Additionally, the sudden reconciliation with the ex-girlfriend, Zoe, raises eyebrows, as her past actions seemed irredeemable. This resolution may leave readers puzzled, questioning the authenticity of the characters' newfound friendship with Zoe.
In summary, "The Reel Deal" offers a light and fluffy read with an interesting premise, but its shortcomings, such as forced dialogue, rushed relationships, and questionable character dynamics, prevent it from reaching its full potential. Despite these flaws, readers seeking a quick and undemanding romantic escape may still find moments of enjoyment in Delilah and Jake's journey.

loved this romance and how the journey stated and ended. loved the friends and all of the trials that they went through on the journey. loved the cast and i can't wait t read more.

Gosh I just adored this story. It was so cute and I loved the characters so much. I look forward to seeing more from Summers in the future and I think she is great at writing just cute little romances. They do not necessarily have the most detail or development, but they are just want I wanted and so cute!

"The Reel Deal" left me with an unsatisfied feeling that I couldn't quite put my finger on. Despite my efforts, I struggled to connect with the characters, and the writing style further hindered my engagement with the narrative. The book seemed to lack a certain depth or resonance, leaving me feeling disconnected from the story. It's challenging to identify a specific element that was missing, but the overall reading experience left me wanting more. Unfortunately, "The Reel Deal" failed to capture my interest, and I found it to be a somewhat unremarkable and forgettable read.

This is a sweet love story of pretending to be a girlfriend to a Hollywood star and in between finding your true love. A sweet gentle romance.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

Even though the book is 37 chapters long I am still looking for "something" in the book (I can't pinpoint what is it). I was first confused with the last chapter, so I had to read it twice - that ending happened too fast for me. But the storyline has a lot of potential or maybe I just read a lot of books similar to this that's why I have high expectations. But for anyone who likes a fast-phase book this one could be for you.

the premise sounded really cute so I knew instantly that I had to have it but it fell short of expectations. I felt that the writing was bland and it was just so so not for me off that premise. I had to drag myself through the book for it.

Fab read. A celeb fake relationship story, what will happen when it starts to feel real? Looking forward to more books from this author.

I loved some of the tropes in this book and this series seems amazing I think I’m going to try and read the first book in the series as well. Please do read the tropes and description as it is closed door and slow burn. I’m not a big fan of both so that’s the only downside of this novel for me. The relationship between the FMC and MMC was so cute because he’s this famous guy. I kept picturing Chris Evans for some reason when reading this. I loved the fake dating trope so that really sold me on this book!
