Two and a half stars.
The idea, concept and plot of this book was very understandable and had a lot of potentials. I love the fake dating/forced proximity trope and that was what made me interested in this book at first but, the way the author executed the writing made it quite frustrating to read.
It felt forced and rushed that sometimes I even forget what the book is even supposed to be about. The writing was what made me lose interest quickly even though it had a lot of potential to be good.
But all in all, it was a quick, fun read and if you're willing to look past the writing, I think you might be able to enjoy it.
Delilah goes home to help take care of her grandmother after an unfortunate accident keeps her from taking care of her best client, super stare Jake Leonard. Delilah instantly dislikes what she believes is the stuck up superstar but what she's not expecting is for their chemistry to fly.
I enjoyed this read, it was a quick and sweet contemporary romance that even though it was a part of a series I felt like I wasn't missing too much reading it as a stand alone.
I loved this book! I devoured it in only a few sittings and wish there was more to read. The story line was paced very well and the characters were easy to love!
A feel good book. It was a little cheesy and predictable at times but it still left me feeling happy 😊

Such a cute easy read with loveable characters I enjoyed this one much more than the other book in the series
Thank you net galley for the arc
This fake to real relationship slow-burn romance novel was one of the best books I have ever enjoyed reading.
*Jake's character is my favorite. His personality is the most grounded, kind and selfless.
*The story is really cute.
*Jake and Delilah sweet comedy romance is interesting.
*Agnes character of being the supportive grandmother is the best.
*The ending was quicker than expected.
I would like to thank the author for the arc.
I really wanted to enjoy this book as I’ve been in the mood for a little romance book lately but unfortunately, this wasn’t it for me.
Whilst I can appreciate some of the writing throughout, I found the characters to be very flat and forgettable. Their love seemed to come on very quickly and there was no sort of build up to that chemistry and romance. I also found the ending to be very sudden and just overall not for me.
Though, this was a quick and easy read with some nice descriptions throughout.
There was absolutely nothing to this. I was not seeing the romance. I don't even get how it is considered a romance. I feel like I just got tossed into a world that is extremely boring but all the sudden they love each other. Why does Delilah feel the need to say his last name? She really couldn't just say Jake.
This was a solid 3.5 for me, simply because instalove isn’t always my thing.
Overall it was a cute and sweet light romance with good banter! If you’re looking for a quick enjoyable read this one is it, and even better it’s the fourth installment so there are more books from this author to enjoy
I wanted to enjoy this book, but I just couldn't. While the story does flow, and Mia Summers includes some beautiful prose in her descriptions of places and things, I couldn't click with the characters.
The dialogue, at times, felt forced, and some of the things they said to each other were mean.
There were also times when I felt like Delilah was being too harsh on Jake and her hatred toward him for being rich was unfounded.
I was smiling the whole time I read this book not had some cheese parts but I loved it. I am a sucker for fake romance and celebrity tropes. This book was a perfect quick fun read. Lots of love but not steamy.
3.5/5 stars
This book takes place over the span of 2 weeks so if instalove is your thing this book is great. It’s a solid 3.5 out of 5 for me. The beginning was very strong, fake relationship with Hollywood celebrity but the middle felt a bit slow and the build up to when they realize they are in love felt a little lackluster. The relationship goes from friends to love really quickly right at the end. This is definitely a closed door/ clean romance book if that is what you are looking for.
3.5, This was a fun time! I quite liked the characters in this one and the MC was a bundle of laughs. Overall, a good time.

The Reel Deal is the 3rd installment of the Big Star, Small Town series by Mia Summers. This book can be read as a standalone. The Reel Deal focuses on Jake Leonard and Delilah Hastings. Jake is a Hollywood movie star desperate for his secluded haven in Elk Ridge, except his ex-girlfriend, Zoe, has other plans. Delilah is in town to help her grandmother, Agnes, after an injury. Agnes is Jake's housekeeper, so while she is recovering, Delilah helps with Jake's errands, etc. Because of a mishap, Jake enlists Delilah's help in keep Zoe away.
The Reel Deal is charming tale. The reader gets more of Lucas Stone from Love Interest #9 and Hooked on Hollywood. The book realistically portrays small town life, especially in regards to Delilah's grandmother and her grandmother's friends. Both Jake and Delilah are more than meets the eye, which keeps the reader engaged and rooting for a HEA.
"The Reel Deal" by Mia Summers delivers a charming blend of Hollywood glitz and small-town sweetness. As a reader, I was immediately drawn into the magnetic pull between Jake Leonard, the well known actor seeking solace, and Delilah Hastings, the unsuspecting small-town girl roped into a fake relationship.
The narrative unfolds seamlessly, weaving the delightful tropes of fake dating and forced proximity into a heartwarming tale of unexpected love. Summers crafts characters with genuine chemistry, making their evolving connection a joy to witness. The story's strength lies in its ability to balance sweet moments with the right touch of humor, creating a delightful romcom experience. While the writing occasionally lacks fluidity, the engaging plot and endearing characters compensate for any minor imperfections.
“The Reel Deal" is a delightful addition to the Big Star, Small Town series, offering a feel-good romance with just the right amount of sizzle.
Very grateful to the publisher/author for my review copy through NetGalley, opinions are my own.
Quick read about a fake dating romance. This is a great rainy afternoon or lazy day read. The scenario is a bit different, so that is enjoyable and the couple is so cute together. I definitely recommend this book.

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest review.
I love the closed door romances that Mia Summers puts out. In this book we follow Delilah and Jake. Delilah was an aspiring artist that was always supported by her grandmother. When circumstances change, she hurries back to Elk ridge to take care of her. Unfortunately, this means having to help clean Mr. Movie Star (Jakes) house.
Jake cannot wait to escape Hollywood in his fortress of solitude in Elk Ridge. When he comes home and sees a stranger in his bedroom. But he’s thankful for her presence when his ex-girlfriend shows up on his doorstep. Most unwelcome.
Will Jake be able to convince his ex that he’s truly in love with this unexpected woman? Or will he actually fall for her?
I loved the story, the sense of place, and the kind characters repeatedly being selfless. It was a heartwarming read perfect for a cozy weekend at home.

If you love insta-love, this is the story for you. Jake is a Hollywood heart throb who comes home to enjoy some peace and quiet after a brutal break up. Also in town is Delilah, who's picking up the slack at Jake's house while her grandmother heals.
It was an easy read, cute and uncomplicated - with a side of fluff. Though I missed the gradual build up of chemistry between Jake and Delilah, this was a sweet story.
