4*
I absolutely loved book 1 and book 2 was just as great!
War of the land takes place 10 years after war of the sea(book 1) but can be read as a standalone.
We do have appearances and references throughout of characters/events from the first book but they are explained enough so you can enjoy without feeling like you are missing important information.
Set in a world with Greek Gods, Pirates and Sirens we follow Princess Savina and Conleth as they face their arranged marriage, secret identities, adventures and prophecy.
I loved how strong the characters are and how well their stories are written. They are not afraid to stand up/protect the people they love and those around them regardless of the possible consequences.

I loved Calli & Henrik and can't wait to read book 3 and follow their story!
Oh and Zeus can go suck it!

Thankyou to Netgalley & Dana Claire for the free copy in exchange for an honest review, sorry it took so long for me to read/post

LOVED this so much!
This had everything I love! Greek gods, pirates, a prophecy, and an enemies-to-lovers storyline with a slow-burn romance that's utterly swoon-worthy had me completely immersed. I just couldn't put it down!

Thank you Netgalley for sending me a free copy of this book

I didn’t realize until after I got accepted for this book that it was the second in the series, so I bought the first one and I have to say, I’m quite impressed with this author’s storytelling talents. I was captivated by Savina’s story, and her blooming romance with Prometheus.

Savina is a strong female who is destined to rule Cava, once she takes a husband. What she doesn’t realize, however, is that her betrothed is Prometheus, the god of the people. Savina is destined for some kind of mankind destroying power, which Zeus knows and plans to take advantage of.

Prometheus (or Conleth), escaped from his mountain imprisonment only to find a threat to humankind approaching in the form of a young girl, Savina, who also happens to be Apollo’s daughter. Pythia advises him to kill the girl, but he can’t find it in him to do that. He enlists the help of the sirens, who are allies of Savina’s brother and sister in law, Rylander and Lou.

This story is absolutely captivating and kept me turning the page. I would recommend this story to anyone who is interested in high fantasy with a good dabbling in romance and Greek mythology. I absolutely loved every second of it!

I have been provided with a review copy of War of the Land from NetGalley for an impartial review. I was just drawn into this story and I just couldn’t get enough of it. I was so disappointed to turn the last page and I immediately wanted more. I can’t wait to see what's next from this author.

Great fantasy romance

Princess Savina is a demigod with powers that can choose between life and death. When she becomes the target of her grandfather Zeus, her brother marries her to a Duke to keep her safe. She isn't very happy with that, until she meets him and realizes they have a common goal. Will their union and love be enough to derail Zeus's plans or will their world burn down to ash?

Although a bit cliché at times, I had a lot of fun reading this book. It's a fast-paced, arranged marriage fantasy romance that drew me in from the first pages. I had previously read War of the Sea, and it was a pleasure to dive back into this great world of Greek mythology and conflict. Savina was a very intriguing main character and I liked that she wanted to take control of her own fate despite the Gods' plans for her. As for Conleth, he was very intriguing and I liked discovering the truth about him with his chapters. The romance was a bit fast, but it was also cute and intense and made perfect sense. The ending made me gasp and cry, I couldn't believe what was happening and I couldn't stop reading. It was that intense... I enjoyed this book a lot and it was everything a YA fantasy romance should be!

I recommend if you like fantasy romance and Greek mythology.

Unfortunately I am unable to give a suitable rating as I DNF'ed at 26%. I was sold by the blurb and I went in with high hopes.

I read the synopsis of the story and I was totally hooked into reading the book. The book has entertainment and and jaw dropping romance. The book is a good read for people who like the paranormal/ fantasy love themes. The heroine’s age could be older. Perhaps over the age of twenty four. With the heroine being eighteen I was on the fence with her character being able to handle mature adult situations and can make quick decisions during life and death scenarios. If the heroine was a little older maybe twenty- four or older I could relate her character to the plot and sub-plot. I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I have no strong feelings about this book one way or the other. It took me a while to get into it, but once I did, I enjoyed the story. I thought it was super weird and creepy that Savina was under 18 and Conleth was old when they first got together. I also felt like the editing dropped off for the last few chapters of the book. The amount of errors was much larger in the final chapters compared to the rest of the book. Overall, not my favorite, but also not bad.

I received a copy of this book for free from NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Young Adult fantasy in a world of ancient mythology, true to the form, with their gods' cruel and brutal nature. Love, love, the meet-cute between the duo Savina and Conleth. It sets the tone of their relationship. Vulnerability and teasing abound, with strings of fate twisting them together.

A minor criticism: A little description or explanation of the mythology concepts would’ve been excellent for context (for example, Greek Heaven vs. Hell). Greek mythology is not my strength.
There are so many strengths to this book: the author’s research, language, character development, pacing, and the plot, the plot was some of the best writing I’ve experienced this year. I usually know and can predict events, but this was unique, and I stayed present instead of foreshadowing each move. So, I am excited and happy to find another author I want to support and follow.

One of the greatest compliments I can give an author is to say I want to buy this book as a gift or save it in my library.

Take a chance on this one. It’s PG-13, with spice and violence.

4.5/5 Star rating.

War of the Land is a fast-paced YA fantasy romance. It is a standalone book, and the readers are promised from the start that there would be a happy ending. Overall, the book did deliver; however, there were a few things that detracted from the book for me. To begin with, the diologue was a bit cringey and unnatural throughout. There was very little character development. I actually liked quite a lot of the characters; however, I didn't get to really know them. The romance happened way too fast. The various nods to Greek mythology was fun and well-done. I honestly prefer series, and this book was a good example of why I prefer series over standalones. I do think people will enjoy War of the Land, especially fans of romantasy books.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. #WaroftheLand #NetGalley

'War of the Land' is a fast-paced YA fantasy, with multiple POVs, gods and demi-gods, a dash of Greek mythology and lots of complications. It's the second installment of the series, but it can be read as a standalone, be advised that it does spoil the resolution of the first book!

Savina is the princess of Cava, who must enter an arranged marriage before her 18th birthday to avoid a prophecy. But before she can travel back to her homeland to meet her destined, she meets a very handsome stranger during a very-very embarrassing situation. Of course this mysterious person is our other POV, Conleth. The story is straightforward most of the time but it does keep surprises, conflicts, pirates, sirens and a dash of magic!

A very entertaining YA fantasy, if you are in the mood for that, it won't disappoint! 'War of the Land' will be released on December 7th, 2023!

War of the Land is book two in the Olympian Wars series, but each book is a standalone and can be read at any point, this book is set 10 years after the events of War of the Sea and has a few recurring characters from book one, it is not neccessary to read the first book, but it's a great read so I would highly recommend it anyway.

War of the Land centres our amazingly head strong and charasmatic lead female character Savina, who has been told she will be entered into an arranged marriage before her 18th birthday to fulfill a prophecy. Enter our lead male character Conleth, who has a secret plan to protect the humans and land from destruction, which is destined to be caused by Savina. Conleth is absolutely brilliant, his charm and wit shine through the book and the chemistry that him and Savina have is brilliant, the author has built both characters fantastically well and watching their relationship develop and have secrets revealed was brilliant. There are a number of characters in this book who really add to the plot with fantastic personalities, I can honestly see a third book following Henrik and Calli, and I cannot wait for it!

This is a very engrossing book that I could not put down, I literally read it in one sitting, I will say there is the insta love trope between the two MCs, which personally I am not the biggest fan of, but it does help keep the books pace, which is fast and action packed, there is never a dull moment in the book. The world building is fantastic and the twists and turns throughout the book are great, this is a series that I fell in love with first time round, and the second book has just sealed my love further. This is a must read series, and personally I cannot wait for more from the Olympians!

This review is my honest, unbiased, opinion. Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for granting me an arc.

Originally, I wasn't going to read War of the Land. I'd read the first one and loved it, but I didn't think I had enough time to pick up yet another arc. I couldn't resist though, I had to request it, and I'm so glad I did, I breezed through the book. Not only that, but I absolutely loved War of the Land, even more than War of the Sea.

Savina was the perfect hero and I loved her personality. She wasn't afraid to protect the people she cared about and yet also had a vulnerability that made me love her more. Conleth was very cocky and sure of himself but that cockiness made sense when his true name is revealed, along with the reason for why he wants to marry Savina.

We're treated to an entirely new story but, thankfully, we still get to see Rylander and Lou, although I would have liked to see more of Lou. Callie, Ry and Lou's daughter is adorable and loveable, but very naive and blinded by love for the son of a pirate, Henrik. I'd love to have a story that centers on them next.

I was immediately interested in the premise of this book, I mean who doesn't love gods and goddesses? I was not disappointed when we were immediately introduced to the characters, Conleth and Savina had banter for days that had me giggling and envious. I also loved the side characters and what they added into the story really rounded it out. As far as the plot goes, I loved all of the politics and mystery. It kept me ripping through the pages to find out what was going to come next, which I consider to be a quality of a good book. The writing style was easy to follow and understand, and the author did a wonderful job in writing this book and its world, I thoroughly enjoyed this read!

Good lord my heart…..

I loved every single detail of this novel. It had the perfect mix of suspence, intrigue, charm and all things deliciously cheeky. It was light-hearted, heart-warming and thought provoking in all the right places. It grabbed my heart and didn’t let go. Such a beautifully written read that I just adored.

"War of the Land" had me hooked from the first page. Dana Claire's storytelling, world building and character development kept me on the edge of my seat and dying for more!

This tale has a combination of Greek gods, pirates, and sirens with plenty of mayhem and a swoon worthy enemy to lovers' romance.

The book was an adventure and a thoroughly enjoyable reading experience that has me eagerly waiting for the next one!
