Such a fun time! Definitely loved this for the christmas time!I cant wait to read more from carrie! thank you netgalley for the arc! Excited to recommend this to friends for next winter!
So our main character Holly hates the cold but surprisingly she decides to pack her stuff and move to the Swiss Alps!! She spends the winter season working as a sous-chef for the twins Genevieve and Luca, who is rich, handsome, kind but there’s always a catch.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching Holly’s character development and seeing where the story took me!
A very enjoyable snippet of this book. I will definitely be reading the full book based on this. It is my type of book anyway but this taster has whetted my appetite. I will be buying this book shortly.
I wish this advanced copy was the full book because I cannot wait to finish the story!! Great character development, hysterical moments and a fantastic (developing) love connection. Holly is someone I was rooting for from the beginning. After suffering heartbreak, she sets out on a cold and wintery adventure where she just happens to meet two new friends and a very handsome & very wealthy potential love interest. Can’t wait to see how this one ends!!
Thank you NetGalley for the excerpt of Escape to the Swiss Chalet. I enjoyed the chapters that I read and look forward to reading the remainder of the book.
Thank you to NetGalley for access to the first two chapters.
Holy and George are packing up to save on rent and prepare for their wedding in a few short weeks. When Holly gets laid off from her job, she picks up some shifts helping her sister run Chez Margot. As Holly works alongside her sister, Holly begins to question whether her life is headed in the direction she wants.
The first two chapters grabbed my attention and I found that I was able to connect to some of the stuff from the story. The characters are loveable and I wanted to know what would happen with George and Holly. This book has been added to my “to be read” list. I want to know how Holly’s story ends.
The book was cute so far. We open with our main character Holly getting ready for her wedding. I’m interested in seeing how the rest of the story goes and how exactly she gets to the Swiss chalet. It seems lighthearted and like a fun cozy read near a fireplace!
This was an extract from NetGalley. Thank you Netgalley.
I was a bit disappointed that this was only an extract and not the actual book. It does sound interesting and I will probably pick it up if I see it but I'm not sure that I would have requested this if I had seen that it was only an extract. It's hard to give a fair rating based on a partial book.
I loved this extract! It screams cozy and I love the main character’s interest in food and wine. I’m very fascinated to hear what happens with her approaching wedding. Great writing and I’ll definitely be reading the rest!
This was so cute and has me excited to read the entire novel!! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this excerpt!
I can't wait to read the full story! The writing is great and descriptive in the best possible way where you can imagine being in the London neighborhood or restaurant. The characters immediately jump off the page. This is going to be a great story to read.
I totally missed the part that an extract is the same thing as an EXCERPT. That's on me, but this does mean I'm just telling you about a preview of this book. And as far as previews go, this captivated me enough that I'm ready to read the whole thing. In just the little bit I read, it had some great humor and intriguing characters. I just wish I had more to read! Thanks to NetGalley for a preview of this recent release.
Thank you netgalley for the extract. Even though it was a short preview of the story I really liked the author's writing style. The start of the book didn't reveal much about the story but it looks very promising. Holly seems like a complete sweetheart and I kind of like George too. But he's too nice to be the endgame lol 😂. An ambitious beauty with a love for wine, sign me up.
Thank you to Netgalley and Aria & Aries Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this extract.
Based on the first few chapters, Escape to the Swiss Chalet is an intriguing and enjoyable romance. Holly came to life from the first page and I was hooked by the story - so eager to learn more about what happened to her relationship and how she ends up at a Swiss chalet! The writing flowed well and the dialogue felt very natural between characters. I'll be looking out for this one so I can see what happens next!
Thank you to NetGalley and Aria & Aries Publishing for letting me read and review this excerpt.
I'm fairly new to the romance genre and found this to be enjoyable. The author's writing style is very simple and easy to read which I'm sure makes the book go by very quickly. My only issue with the writing is that it was almost too simplistic. Everything feels as if it is being blatantly spelled out for the reader instead of letting the book naturally flow.
I don't plan on continuing and finishing the rest of the book but I would definitely recommend trying it out!
When I downloaded this I didn't realize that this was just an extract. I'm not going to lie and say that I read this and ran to be true book. I ran the opposite way. Giving an extraction of the book is a waste of time for everyone. That KS the whole point of reading the synopsis and reviews.
This extract showed that the book has a lot of potential, combining a likeable character with an interesting job, with a gorgeous cat and a full of red flags fiance and I can't wait to read the rest of the book
This was a sweet, quick winter read, best enjoyed while you're cozied up in a blanket. As soon as I started reading, I was transported gorgeous winter land. This book had a picturesque location, a funny main character, some comedic moments, and a dash of romance. The descriptions of food sounded amazing. This was a great, light-hearted debut novel!
This sneak peek of "Escape to the Swiss Chalet" definitely enticed me to pre-order the book to read in its entirety! I'm already a fan of the writing, the setting, and the FMC (Holly). I can't wait to see what happens next as she navigates her life with (or without) her fiancé George.
Thank you Net Galley and Aria & Aries for the excerpt ARC! Even though this was a short excerpt, I enjoyed reading it! I would love to read the rest of this book, I know so much more is going to happen! What I read was very well-written and so far I like the main character a lot.
