This is a fun and educational book about a young girl and her dyslexia. She must talk herself into asking for help and then getting the help that she and her “Lexi” need. This is a great book to help others understand dyslexia at a young age.

I received a complimentary copy of this book via Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are my own opinions.

Lexi is the cutest friend I have ever seen. I enjoyed the story and how it's almost more needed for the adult than the child. The idea that children may need help and that's okay is hard to understand, but I find this book wonderfully helpful, and giving you "difference" a shape is really smart.

I will be recommending Molly's great discovery to teachers, parents, and friends.

I will be recommending this book to all of my teacher friends and mom friends. This is a great beginning or intro book into the world of differences in learning. I honestly think every kid needs the opportunity to understand that we all learn differently and that’s completely ok. Giving visuals like this really just helps to normalize these things and have kids understand at an early age so they don’t feel ashamed.

Molly has given her learning difference/difficulty a name, Lexie. Lexie is really dyslexia, but Molly doesn't know that until she self-advocates about her difficulties in reading and spelling. This book is valuable for students with dyslexia as well as being an example of how self-advocacy can make a student's school experience better. Highly recommend.

This book helps kids understand what dyslexia is like for people who have it. It explains what it looks like and feels like. I think this book would be an excellent discussion starter. There is a note at the end about self advocating for kids.

Molly's Great Discovery shows Molly as she struggles in school with her learning because of reading and writing. With the help of her imaginary friend Lexi, Molly gains the courage to ask for help, and she soon learns that she has dyslexia. With beautiful illustrations, this book shows that its okay to need extra help, and that many other kids can relate too. Molly was scared to be different, but in the end she realized that being different is not a bad thing, and not every kid learns the same way.
