Honestly 10 out of 10. Jen Devon owns a part of my heart with her writing. Her characters are so well thought out and detailed. I love a second chance romance and this one was so well done. The Bradys are such an intricate family with so many great dynamics and how Temperance is connected, which also keeps her connected to Duncan was so well done.

I read the first book in this 'series' and absolutely adored it. I put series in quotes because this is not marketed on Amazon or Goodreads as a series, however you can tell that the setting, characters and side stories are a carryover from the first book. I was excited to read the second book, but this book was released two years after the first. With that amount of time in between reading the first book, I was completely lost as to who everyone was in the book. There were so many family members and side characters that I couldn't keep straight who was who. I only made it 12% through the book before I decided it was not for me. Jen Devon does angst well, so I may come back to it when I am in the mood, but it was too much backtracking and feeling lost for me to want to continue it right now.

I loved Bend Towards the Sun and am happy to say Right Where We Left Us was equally as good. Jen Devon knows how to write a story that's going to hit you with all the feels. I particularly loved the back story with Temperance and Duncan and how their lives have always been intertwined. A very sweet story, with a bit of spice. I would recommend reading Bends Towards the Sun before reading Right Where We Left Us to provide you a bit more background.

Thank you St. Martins Griffin and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

If you give me the chance to read a book on forced proximity, you better believe I'm gonna read it and boy did I read this one! I fell in love with this book! The amount of yearning in this book had me completely melting!

Unfortunately, I think I've read similar romances that have done these tropes a little better. I found the writing style a bit dry and it wasn't as captivating as I imagined the story being.

Jen Devon knows how to write a romance novel.

I fell in love with the Brady family in Bend Toward the Sun and my love only continued into Right Where We Left Us. To say I was excited for a book about Temperance and Duncan is an understatement and it not only lived up to my expectations, but blew them away.

Temperance is so strong and fierce, but also has so many family issues. Duncan is so incredibly sweet, but hides it. These two together are something special and their chemistry and pull towards each other is unmatched.

I love that we got to see more of Rowan and Harry (from Bend Toward the Sun) and I highly recommend reading their book first to get all of the family backstory and figure out the characters. The Brady family is large and wonderful and you'll want to meet them all!

I enjoyed the second-chance trope. It was lighthearted, straightforward and sweet. That said, I feel like there were a lot of plot holes and I was left with some questions. I understand it is part of a standalone series, but feel like it maybe should have been marketed as a true series, as there wasn't a lot of context into their relationship and the connection between the main characters and many of the side characters.
I felt the dialogue was fun, but the amount of characters and the lack of context as a standalone made it a bit harder to read. 2.5/5

This was a cute story. I did struggle a smidge with the third person and the pacing of the book. And I wish I would have known there was a book prior to this one, even tho it is a standalone. I did really enjoy the Brady family taking her in and then getting a second chance!

For a second chance romance, I feel I didn’t get a lot of details about Temperance and Duncan’s past. Unfortunately, Right Where We Left Us just wasn’t for me.

Jen Devon’s follow up to her novel Bend Towards the Sun follows the Duncan Family again and one of their members falling in love. Right Where We Left Us (which is set to be released on June 18th) is a story about family, loyalty, and finding love at the right place at the right time.

This book took me a little bit to get into, but by the halfway point I was really itching to see when Duncan and Temperance would finally give into their feelings.

I found the pining to be a little too dragged out and their communication skills to be lacking something, but overall this book has a bit of everything: steamy moments, heartwarming family moments, a bit of family drama, long kept secrets, funny moments, a wedding, and characters you’ll fall in love with (even if you do need a family tree to keep everyone in order lol)!

I felt a lot of the plot points from BEND TOWARDS THE SUN (which chronicle’s Duncan’s brother and Temperance’s best friend fall in love) transitioned over to this book which made it more enjoyable of a read for me. That being said, this book can definitely work as a standalone novel also!

If you like second chance romances with a slow burn and LOTS of pining, then this is the book for you!

*I received an ARC from St. Martin’s Press in exchange for my honest opinion.

I tried to get into this book but I don’t think it was for me at the time. I do look forward to coming back to it in the future!

Right Where We Left Us had a promising premise and beautifully written prose, but it ultimately fell a little flat for me. While the second-chance romance trope can be incredibly emotional and rewarding, the pacing of this novel felt slow, making it difficult to stay fully engaged.

One of the biggest challenges was the introduction of so many side characters early on. With little time to establish a connection to the main characters first, the influx of names and relationships made the beginning feel overwhelming and somewhat confusing. It took a while to settle into the story, and by then, the emotional impact of the romance was lessened.

That said, Jen Devon’s writing is undeniably lovely, and there were moments of heartfelt depth between the main characters that shone through. Fans of character-driven, lyrical romance may still find a lot to love here, but for me, the slow pace and crowded cast kept it from being a standout read.

A very interesting read. Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read this book. It wasn't really for me, but I am sure that it will be loved by the right audience.

Right Where We Left Us by Jen Devon is an intense, emotionally charged romance that will resonate with fans of Carly Fortune and Lucy Score. This story follows the complicated, on-again, off-again relationship between Temperance Jean (TJ) Madigan and Duncan Brady, whose connection started with a secret, passionate summer when they were eighteen. Despite their undeniable chemistry, years of miscommunication and unresolved tension have turned them into nothing more than strangers who can't help but get caught up in a cycle of bickering and messy hookups.

The novel kicks into gear when TJ returns to Duncan's family vineyard for a wedding, forcing them into close quarters once again. As they try to avoid their past while being drawn together by their simmering attraction, old wounds begin to surface, and the tension between them grows more intense. What follows is a beautifully written journey of self-discovery, healing, and the fight to make love work when everything seems to be standing in the way.

Devon does a fantastic job of building the emotional depth between TJ and Duncan, exploring how their past together shapes their present and their chance at a future. The push and pull of their relationship feels raw and authentic, and readers will be rooting for them to overcome their differences and finally get it right.

With its mix of fiery chemistry, heartfelt moments, and the kind of slow-burn tension that keeps you turning the pages, Right Where We Left Us is a deeply satisfying romance that proves sometimes love just needs one last chance. If you’re a fan of second-chance romances with complex characters and a lot of heart, this one is a must-read.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this new novel.

This was not a hit with me, I found it boring and I couldn't really bring myself to care for the characters.

To know and read Jen Devon's words is to love them. Jen is a master at creating real and raw love stories, Temperance and Duncan are more proof of that. These two are destined to be together, they just haven't been able to quite figure out how without feeling like they're going to lose themselves. They have to be foolish to figure their love out, but once the stars align, there is no going back.

I love Jen Devon's writing, which is why I was excited to read this book, despite not really being interested in second chance romances. Her writing style ignites my imagination and is why I have given this book 4 stars instead of 3.

I loved how vivid the setting of the book was, and could feel some of the emotions of the characters. I also loved seeing Harry and Rowan from the first book. Duncan and Temperance's relationship was meh. I was rooting for them to get together, but also couldn't get a feel for their chemistry or why they liked each other. It felt like they were supposed to be together because of their extensive history, rather than a deeper connection, especially with how angsty their interactions were.

I wasn't a fan of the pacing at times; it felt disjointed - like I was finally getting answers about why they liked each other, and then boom 2 weeks later. I felt that there were some things that needed more explanation and others that needed less. Further, there were too many characters to keep track of, I was constantly forgetting who was who, which muddled the story a bit.

Thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for this gifted copy of Right Where We Left Us.

I absolutely adored this book. I thought it was a quick read and I devoured it. It is told in 3rd person which took me a second to get used to. The characters were phenomenal. I loved the Brady family the most. They took everyone in like they were family. And I loved how close they were. It reminded me of my family.

This story was such a treat to read! The chemistry between the leads was intense and beautifully written, with just the right touch of heat. The close-knit group of friends and family added so much warmth, making the story feel richer and more heartfelt. It was the perfect mix of romance, passion, and community.
I really enjoyed this one! Thank you for the E-ARC!
