I received a copy of this ARC from NetGalley.
First I want to start off with the fact that I am reviewing a Kindle version of this book, and while interacting with the book is not the same as having a physical copy of the book which is required to full use the book. With that being said because I did get the chance to view It and I do see the usefulness I did purchase the actual book.
It is so much more than an adult coloring book it gives you ideas to distract your mind from your anxiety and helpful tools to use calm down when the book is not with you.
Admittedly, I did not get a chance to look at or try all of the activities before it expired. Sadly I downloaded it just two weeks or so before it was archived and thought I had more time with it than I did. However, I think it's a refreshing take on an art therapy approach to anxiety. I appreciated some of the exercises and activities that I was able to try. With its interactive nature, a physical copy may not make sense for library purchasing, but perhaps eBooks could work well for a public library setting. I think the physical book could do well in book stories by other books related to anxiety.
This book is super interactive and fun! I love that this is both artistic and therapeutic, as I’m an artist myself and I struggle with anxiety as well. This was such a great resource to work and read through!
As someone who suffers anxiety, this activity book really helps in teaching how to manage your anxiety and how to let the small stuff go.
I love the interactive nature of this book. I am working on being more self reflective and this book perfectly aligns with those needs. I would love to see a kid version that I could use on my classroom. Get a fun pack of pens and jump in.
Leah Guzman’s Anxiety Relief Activity workbook published by Callisto publishing, offers different ways to help reduce anxiety by centering one’s thoughts on easy, creative activities including such things as writing prompts, drawing, painting, coloring, and more.
My favorite activity was using the dot matrix to create patterns which I then colored. I found this to be very engaging and relaxing.

As someone that struggles with anxiety I would find this activity book a nice distraction from my spiral and a way to refocus myself.
As it was sent as a PDF I was unable to complete the activities but will look for this book on the bookshelves to buy a hardcopy to enjoy and use.
This book is right up my alley. I consider myself an artistic person, even though nowadays I rarely have time for artistic pursuits, because of working long hours. That being said, the prompts/activities in this book were pretty short and easy to accomplish, so I consider it a good option even for people with very busy schedules. I also found them very relaxing. I’ll definitely be adding a physical copy to my collection and buying some for a few friends as well.
There were some unique and fun exercises in this workbook. I love the utilization of art techniques to process and treat anxiety.
Good prompts and activities for those who struggle with stress and anxiety, and who love being creative and putting their feelings to paper 💙
Some of the activities in this book are helpful. However, the first one stressed me out so much because I couldn't understand the directions and how she wanted me to draw the circles!
Additionally, nearly every other page is blank. I suppose it was for on-your-own sharing. But if it's an activity book, shouldn't it provide prompts? I hope they get that sorted before it's published.
I really liked this book and thought it was so inspiring to read from a professional that combines creativity with therapy. I don't think this works for libraries and ebooks as well as the physical copy but I still enjoyed it. It's great, especially if you're into adult coloring books.
ANXIETY RELIEF ACTIVITY BOOK by Leah Guzman offers multiple approaches to "Draw, Paint, Color, Doodle, and Write Your Way to Calm." Guzman is a professional artist and a board-certified art therapist with a master’s degree in art education, plus nearly two decades of experience in helping people see how creativity can contribute to healing. There are many imaginative suggestions offered, but because of how interactive this text is, it is really not appropriate for a library collection. Individual readers may enjoy it, especially if they are fond of adult coloring books.
This anxiety relief workbook is great to help calm down after a stressful day. It had a good variety of activities for the most part, like coloring pages and journal prompts, although there seem to be a repeat of variations of magazine collages. It is a great option for those looking for the kind of book you can use casually, not the kind that has action steps or therapy techniques.
The activities made it so fun and relaxing. I really hope that this book works just the same for others as well. I’m so so grateful. Definitely going adding it to the Christmas’ gifts list.
A workbook that uses creative activities to help combat anxiety! I loved that this was a different take than traditional self-help books about anxiety and had actual artistic activities built in to do. I think this is a great book for everyone, not just naturally creative people.
I enjoyed looking through this activity book. As someone who suffers from anxiety, I am always looking for ways to keep myself busy and learn to cope. This activity book was full of lots of different engaging activities. I liked the grounding exercises prompt. These are especially important for people with anxiety. Overall any interesting activity book with all of fun prompts for helping anxiety.
This was an interesting activity book. I have had the opportunity to review a few and I felt that this had some fun and unique activities for the reader to take. I especially liked "painting the rainbow of uplifting thoughts". There's an excellent sense of play in this activity book as opposed to introspection.
