This was the first time Kelley Armstrong has crossed my radar and I am so excited to start binge reading all of her other books. I was instantly hooked from the first sentence, and it just got better after that. Kelley was a fun lumberjack character who felt very real and made me want to go out and cut some lumber. After reading, I know that is a terrible idea if you do not know what you are doing.Daphne’s home was so well described that I was able to picture the whole thing, from the mountains, to the lake, to her cute part wolf dog.
Chris was the definition of a golden retriever MMC. He was smart, silly and It was fun to watch her and Chris’s relationship develop and the slow burn was great. I felt like it was such a tease waiting for something to actually happen, but once it did it was worth it.
I am so glad that I had the opportunity to read this new, fun romcom and can’t wait for it to be released to the world on June 25th! Make sure to mark your calendars for Finding Mr. Write and be ready to five into the wilderness of Yukon, Canada!

This was a very cute—albeit very implausible—friends to lovers romance. I really loved Daphne. She felt very real to me and I felt for her throughout. Chris ranged from lovable golden retriever to unhinged toddler for me. He was great fun, but many of his choices were so completely devoid of common sense that it felt unrealistic. This book did have a deeply satisfying slow burn, so I’ll forgive some of its short comings. I did enjoy reading and never considered DNFing. I’ll read more from this author for sure.
Thanks to NetGalley, Forever, and Kelley Armstrong for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinions.
Wow! I love Kelley Armstrong books and this was definitely no exception.
Daphne is a female author who can’t get anyone to take her book seriously. So one night she gets drunk and submits her manuscript under a pseudonym with a guys name. The problem is she gets her book picked up! Now they want her to do pictures and tours, so she hires someone to stand in for her! Chris isn’t an actor he’s just an accountant, a self proclaimed math geek, but he’s been hired to play Zane Remington a brawny manly man who lives in the Yukon and faces down grizzly bears.
This book was adorable and I couldn’t put it down!
4/5 stars and I will be buying a physical copy for my shelf!

This book talked about the differences men and women get in life. While I would hate to say I would judge a book based on the author, I can admit that I don’t read many romantic novels by men. Both sexes are equally qualified to write any genre though and it will make me pick up books that I normally wouldn’t after reading this.

Daphne wrote her debut novel and had difficulty finding a publisher so, she decided to use a male pseudonym which got her noticed. When she needed a picture for the cover and someone to do interviews, Chris was hired. He does an amazing job representing her book and opportunities abound. They work together to help her book gain the following and acceptance it deserves while falling in love. I loved the romance, the quirkiness of both characters and the hilarity of some of the situations. I was thoroughly saddened that the need to use a male persona is still necessary to obtain earned acceptance, saddened but not surprised. I've been a fan of this author for a very long time and have never been disappointed.

Daphne is a writer who has an amazing story that she wants to share with the world. Her only problem: no publisher has any interest in her novel, until she publishes it under a pseudonym named Zane.
Her book quickly becomes a huge success and she needs a little help. She needs someone to play the part of Zane the "author" of the novel.
Chris finds himself in his own legal issues and quickly jumps at the chance to help his lawyers friend with a quick acting gig. Chris and Daphne hit it off and it's not long before sparks fly.
This book was super cute! I really enjoyed the romance and comedy in this novel. Ive been an avid fan of Kelley's since I was 15 years old, and although this isn't her typical genre, she did not disappoint!
Chris and Daphne were both instantly likeable characters. The situations they found themselves in had me giggling and quickly flipping to the next page. I couldn't get enough!
I absolutely adored it and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, delightfully funny romcom!
Thank you NetGalley and Kelley for the opportunity to read and review this novel!

Loved it! A step outside her normal genre, but definitely a great step! This was an enjoyable and entertaining read. I loved the characters, and could not put it down once I started!

Thank you to NetGalley for an early ARC.
I am very much a Kelley Armstrong fan and I trusted her to pull off a rom-com. She is great at writing relationships in her other styles anddd there are often comedic elements.
This is a straight up rom-com. Daphne and Chris are both likeable and their relationship grows convincingly over time. The premise is simple - Daphne has been shopping her book and isn't getting any bites so she decides to submit it as a man. When the publisher pushe the book with a major marketing campaign (probably the fantasy aspect) the ruse takes on a life of its own.
Highly recommended.

I have loved Kelley's Rockton series and was intrigued by what she would do with a rom-com.
She did not disappoint! This was a well written, engaging and entertaining novel. She threw in some major chuckles and 2 very lovable lead characters.
I very much enjoyed my time with them. Well done!!

I enjoyed this book so much. Very relatable characters. Being a girl from Wisconsin and considering myself independent it shows that even though we could be our own Zane, we also want a Chris by our side too.

When Kelley Armstrong publishes a new book you jump on it weather it's a new undertaking in genres like this one or a genre that she has already mastered. Not only was I drawn to this book because of the author but the premise of this book sounded just like the cutesy type of novels I have been devouring lately. This book is all about our main character, Daphne McFadden, who is struggling to get anyone to look ar her new novel. She knows that if she can just get them to look at the book it will be a success however no one seems to be willing to give her that opportunity. After a few cocktails one night she decides to go out on a limb and sends her manuscript in under a new name, a males name this time. When the book takes off she is super happy and decides that in order to keep her success she never even has to tell the publisher the truth. However when the publisher wants to meet this new "Zane Remmington" in real life Daphne needs to find a way to keep her secret but also not lose her new book deal. Enter Chris, he is a young lawyer who is desperate for a new job after his partner left him in the lurch. So when Daphne's friend offers him a gig to portray the author "Zane" it is exactly what he needs to get back on his feet so he jumps at the chance. When the two characters must share a cabin to prepare for the upcoming book tour the sparks really start to fly, especially when the promotion manager wants to meet "Zane". While this is a completely new direction than any other Kelley Armstrong book that I've ever read before I loved it just the same. The plot was very captivating and I loved the characters, especially Chris'. This was a nice easy read which just focused on the two main characters and their budding relationship both romantically and professionally. I loved how it was mostly just the two characters because it really let me understand both of them and their personalities and it also made the flow of the story much smoother and easier to navigate without a bunch of useless people in it. This book was also told through duel perspectives, which I'm not normally a big fan of however it was nice to get inside information on both the characters' thoughts and feelings. While this is very different than what I'm used to from this author, I loved it just the same and I couldn't get enough of it but I never wanted it to end at the same time. While a different genre altogether, Kelley Armstrong still managed to write this one with the same flair and style that made me fall in love with her work all those years ago. This was a great read and I can't wait to add it to my collection when it gets released. If you like stories that will pull you in from the beginning with characters that jump off the pages than this is the book for you and you won't want to miss it.

A cute, fast-paced romcom set in a wildly successful book tour.
The premise of a female author hiring an actor to represent her male pseudonym is a fun one. The pairing of Daphne and Chris felt fresh to me. I feel like it’s rare for the guy to be the one playing dumb for attention, and that role reversal continues with his city-boy-meets-wilderness, sunshine-y, baker persona. I could easily see this book working as a hallmark movie. It’s dual perspective, with POV switches through the chapter. POV’s are labeled by name which felt a little jarring to me but might be helpful for people who struggle with third person perspectives.
The plot relies heavily on the miscommunication trope, so if that’s something that bothers you I’d skip this one. A lot of the conflict later in the book could have been avoided if the two characters had sat and discussed things. In general there’s a real lack of show-don’t-tell. The pacing moves quick because a lot of conversations are summarized as one character explaining (insert topic) to another. It can feel a little montage-y at times and I found myself wishing the reader was let in on those moments, especially the ones that emotionally progress the relationship. Because of this I didn’t really feel the chemistry between the two.
Overall, Chris felt like the main character to me. We get the most background on him early on and we spend more time with him processing events and emotions than we do with Daphne. Daphne really feels boiled down to her career as a writer, her former role as her mother’s caretaker, and her past relationship trauma. You don’t find out that she’s also an architect until 30% into the book, which feels very late for basic info on the character I expected to relate to at most.
The book is amusing, with clearly defined stakes and low stress. It would make a good easy-to-read vacation book that you can pick up and put down as needed without feeling like you’re losing your momentum.

Books that start with a memorable first line are the best. It was shocking and hilarious.
Daphne is an author is writing her book under a male pen name. Daphne feels like in order to be successful in the the publishing business she would need to submit her work under a male name. With the help of her best friend she finds the guy who can play Zane Remington. In comes Chris who is an accountant who said he was an actor. And Chris is in some financial trouble so he is doing this to get legal help from Daphnes best friend.
This subplot is a bit serious about whether or not women writers are undervalued.
This was a super easy read. Amazing page turner if you are a big romance reader you’ll love this one.
Chris made me laugh so much! I loved him.
Thank you Kelley Armstrong, thank you netgalley, and thank you Forever Grand Central Publishing for this arc. I really appreciate it.

This was a fun read with a unique premise. It’s a commentary on the patriarchy without being hit over the head with it, and that’s always a plus.

This was an extremely enjoyable rom-com! What made it even better is that it was written by one of my favorite authors who usually writes fantasy novels. This had all of the perfect elements of a romance that you can lose yourself in. Set in the Yukon, the reader gets alternate view points between Daphne and Chris. Both characters were strong, funny, and likable. I found myself rooting for both of them and wanting to keep reading to see what would happen next. There was also a great message behind the story. I love when the author can write an entertaining story that can also inspire you. This was a fun, romance and I can't wait to see what this author writes next!
Thank you to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for this ARC.

In Kelley Armstrong's charming romantic comedy a woman querying her YA dystopian novel only finds success when she publishes her book as a man. Daphne McFadden lives a quiet, outdoorsy life in the Yukon. She has always wanted to write a novel, but she doesn't want to sacrifice her privacy. It seems like a perfect fix to use the pseudonym Zane Remington and invent a male alter-ego. When her novel garners more success than she expects, Daphne must find a man to play the role she has created. She hires actor Chris Stanton. Chris plays his role well...so well no one realizes that Chris is actually an accountant pretending to be an actor.
I enjoyed the interactions of these two characters and the slow burn romance.
I love Kelley Armstrong's writing from fantasy to mystery even horror and now romantic comedy. Is there nothing the woman cannot write?

Finding Mr. Write is the first love story written by thriller/mystery writer Kelley Armstrong. It really has a lot to offer- a strong and dynamic female heroine, a likable and borderline nerdy hero, and a strong description of a beautiful setting. The dialogue is witty and the whole book has a sort of rom-commy vibe, with several instances of physical comedy that set it apart from other romances. There were some moments where the dialogue felt a little stilted and the conflicts between the characters felt overblown. Towards the end the hero seems a little clueless, which comes out of nowhere. But overall I really enjoyed it, and I hope Armstrong writes another romance soon! Rounded up from a 3.5. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the e-arc.

What an adorable book about an author who's finding the perfect man to be the face of her new novel, As she struggles finding her place in the author world, she also struggles through her feelings towards her Mr. Write.
I liked this book. It was a short, quick read with enough comedic parts to keep my interest. The banter between the two characters were perfect and hilarious. The chemistry between them was also quite strong even though they were fighting it hard.
The book was a little too slow burn for me. After multiple times of them trying to find somewhere to be physical I kind of got bored of the book. When they decide to try, I felt like it wasn't the right time or place, it felt rushed and cliche.
I most likely won't read this again but will likely recommend it to romance readers as it's a cute book.

Such a great book! Very formulaic in the ‘meet-fall in love-big disaster run away-then clear up the misunderstanding and live happily ever after’ of a romance, but the dialog was good and the entire book kept my attention until the end.
I would definitely recommend this a good read!

I was excited to have the opportunity to read an advanced copy of Finding Mr Write
Daphne’s is an author with angreat book but knows it won’t self with her “female” name so she hires an actor. Can’t be that complicated right? I like the premise of the book and both characters are strong and share chemistry. The book was cute but it’s one of those I could easily put down and forget about it and I struggled to get back. But overall I’m glad I did as it was a cute read.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
