I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of Bone Lake, the eighth novel to feature Special Agent Nikki Hunt of the Minnesota FBI office.

Nikki is called to a house on Bone Lake where two young women have been beaten to death. She quickly discovers that a third woman, Alexia, is missing. The house was the scene of an unsolved family killing in 2001, which Alexia had an obsession with to the extent of conducting her own investigation. Surprisingly the house is still owned by the only survivor of the original murders, Matt Kline, and he fast becomes a person of interest.

I thoroughly enjoyed Bone Lake, which is a fast paced read with plenty of twists and turns. The narrative is mostly told from a present day perspective, but also includes flashbacks to the events of 2001.

This is an interesting read as it is never clear to Nikki and her team if the two sets of murders are linked or if there is a copycat element to it. The MO’s are different, but it’s the same house, so who knows, certainly not me, who was completely in the dark until the final showdown. I like the way the novel is written. There is a steady trickle of information and reveals that pose more questions than answers, even with Nikki and her no. 2, Liam Wilson, who are at loggerheads for most of the novel on how to interpret them. It adds another layer to a complicated situation. I liked the realism of the limits of technology, like trying to get into a certain brand of phone or trying to get readout of the car’s GPS. It prolongs the suspense by keeping much of what Alexia was up to hidden until later in the novel. Clever. It makes the novel a page turner.

Bone Lake is a good read that I have no hesitation in recommending.

Bone Lake (Nikki Hunt Book 8) by Stacy Green is a gripping crime thriller. It had all the elements of a solid story: suspense, foreshadowing, false clues, tension, and a good resolution.

When Special Agent Nikki Hunt is called to a home on Bone Lake, she is devastated to find blood all over the floor and two young women who clearly fought for their lives. But the viciousness of the scene isn’t the only thing that strikes Nikki. The house was the scene of another murder twenty years ago. The killer was never caught. Is this a terrible coincidence, or have they struck again?

The story started with some gruesome murders, and I just had to keep reading to find out what was going on and who committed these vicious crimes.

The author develops such good characters with an engaging story. And, my goodness, how the story unfolds: lots of good red herrings and a good mystery to keep me turning the pages.

I would recommend this book and series.

What a man will do when scorned….

One house, with a horrific history of bloodshed. This story will suck you in, even with my hunch on who was responsible for the gruesome murders, Stacy serves up some great twists and turns, unexpected connections and revelations that keep you gripped to the end.

Fans of the series will not be disappointed!

Thanks NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC.

Wow! I just love this series. Nicki Hunt comes across a grisly seen of two dead females. In a bizarre twist as this isn’t the first murder in this house as Matt Kline had his family murdered before here.

This one just gripped me right away and I couldn’t flip the pages fast enough to find who the killer was.

My Review:
Loved!!!!! Stacy Green once again wrote another fabulous book in this fantastic series. I can’t say enough good things about her and this series. It is one of my favorite series of all time. What I love the most about these books are all the characters. I love being immersed into their life and feeling everything they feel even though I know it’s not real. To me it is real even if it’s just for a few hours and until the book is finished. I really like that I’m right there with all of them trying to solve the case. I also love that there are so many twists and turns in her books. You never know what is going to happen next which leads you to staying up all night just to finish it. I get no sleep when I pick up one of her books. Can we talk that ending for a minute. Wow, just wow. I never saw that one coming. Blew my mind and that’s hard to do. What a great way to end the book. I will definitely be reading more by this author and this series.

In conclusion, the plot, the characters and all the twists in this book made this book an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

With her daughter, Lacy, away with her grandparents and husband, Rory, working on a new construction project, Nikki Hunt is enjoying time in her gardens when the Sheriff calls - he needs Nikki's FBI team assistance with multiple murders. And the location of these murders is a historic home where previously, three members of a family were killed - only the young son survived. It's still unsolved, and a documentary (released the day of the murders) hopes to open the case again. Nikki and her partner, Liam, are on the scene. Throughout their investigation , they're at odds over who could have committed the current murders, and feeling as though they are linked to the previous family's deaths. Nikki and Liam's partnership takes center stage - and Ms. Green writes their disagreements with such honesty and respect. One of the best series around! This should be on your must-read list! Thank you to Bookouture for an advanced reader of this book. The opinions expressed are my own.

This book how do starts off with a cold case murder from 2001 which has become a documentary on Netflix, a group of girls rent the actual murder house to throw a viewing party for the documentary
And again murder happens, two girls are dead, one girl is missing, and a whole lot of people were in and out of that house that night.

Nikki and her team, are not only trying to solve the current murder, find the missing girl, they are trying to solve the cold case.

This was a great read, another fantastic piece in this series, and I have to admit I had a lot of suspects, but this one caught me off guard.

Bone Lake by Stacy Green

Welll what can I say to say I was hooked would be an understatement I couldn’t stop reading it , it’s very well written and easy to follow I would happily read it all over again .

The story follows FBI Agent Nikki Hunt who worked on “ The Klines murder case “ which the oldest child Amy Kline , Mother Sandy Kline and Father Ted Kline were found murdered in their Victorian family home. Sadly the only survivor was none other than the youngest Kline child and brother Matty who manger to escape the killer through the old dumbwaiter !

Before reading please do check the trigger warnings !

The Kline murders took place between 2001 then 20 years later , turns out agent Hunt is asked to be apart of a double homicide that has taken place within the same house in 2001 basically they use the old and new evidence to track and find said “ killer “ is he or she from 20 years ago or do we have a copycat on our hands.

I couldn’t stop turning the pages highly recommend this book if you love the mystery / true crime genre or if you’re looking for a new read I will definitely be reading more books from Stacy Green that’s for sure.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to Stacy Green and NetGalley for my very first arc forever grateful to have read this arc.

Two bodies are found in the same house as 3 other bodies were found 20 years ago. Agent Nikki Hunt remembers the first set of murders very well. She also remembers the young boy who was the only survivor of the first murders. He is now an adult and was friends with one of the girls who is missing from the home where her friends were murdered. Nikki and her partner have a huge job on their hands with a multitude of suspects and very little evidence. Especially since Nikki is determined to solve the original murders at the same time.
The multitude of characters in this story should be difficult to keep up with, but Ms. Green crafts this story with aplomb!
Get the popcorn ready because you can literally see the scenes in your mind, and you don't want to miss a single one!

Oh wow!! Nikki is at it again. Teens are found dead at the murder house not long after a Netflix series of the past murders airs. The teen that rented the house is missing. The clock is ticking as Nikki and her team try to figure this out. Is it the original killer from the past? The suspect list is growing and Nikki and Liam can’t agree on anything.
The suspense was building nonstop. I loved this one.
Many thanks to Netgalley for the chance to read and review this one

An Intensely Suspenseful Must-Read Thriller!
Two bodies have been discovered and one girl is missing from the same house where three bodies were found twenty years before. Could the incidents be related since the killer was never caught?

Agent Nikki Hunt vividly remembers the gruesome initial murders. Her memory zeroes in on the sole surviving boy from that incident, now grown up and connected to one of the missing girls in the recent tragedy. Teamed with her partner, Nikki faces a colossal challenge—abundant suspects but minimal evidence. Her determination to solve the original murders adds complexity to the ongoing investigation. Amidst a multitude of characters, Ms. Green skillfully crafts a tangled narrative. This story is a cinematic tale where each scene vividly unfolds in your imagination, making every moment a must-read!

Another thrilling addition to the riveting Nikki Hunt series! This book mainly focuses on Nikki’s current investigation and very little on Nikki's private life. Readers do get glimpses of Rory and mentions of Nikki's daughter, but it is the investigation that is front and center in Bone Lake. Nikki will need to be on her toes as this investigation will touch a little close to home for Nikki as she looks back on her own parents’ deaths.

Special Agent Nikki Hunt has been called to a murder scene in a home on Bone Lake. Two young women are found viciously murdered inside, and a young man is found injured at the bottom a dumbwaiter. This is not the first time this home has seen death. Twenty years earlier, a married couple and their daughter were found slaughtered with only their young son surviving that brutal and bloody night. While investing the current crime scene, Nikki learns that a party was held the night before and Alexia, the young woman who rented the Airbnb is missing. The plot thickens as Nikki is informed that the owner of the home is Matt Kline, the sole survivor of the attack twenty years ago.

Were the current murders a coincidence? Those at the home were watching a documentary about the original murder at the home twenty years ago. Was this the work of a copycat killer? Has the original killer come back to kill again? Why has this house seen so much death?

The clock is ticking as Nikki and her partner try to find Alexia alive while tracking down a killer. Delving deep into the lives of both Alexia and Matt, some revelations are made and as more questions are asked, more secrets are uncovered.

I enjoyed reading about the investigation and how Nikki approached solving this case, how it affected her, how she worked with her team, and how she showed empathy to one character in this book. Nikki is a strong and vulnerable character who will stop at nothing to get to the bottom of things. I love her drive and determination to see justice served. I have loved this series from the very first book and enjoy the character development that has transpired over the course of the books.

I enjoyed doing my own super sleuthing while reading this book. I had a few suspects in mind in the middle of the book but ruled them out closer to the end. This one kept me on my toes, and I enjoyed how the secrets of various characters were revealed.

This book is not long in length but had a lot going on between those pages. The pacing was steady, and I enjoyed the sense of tension as well as not knowing who could be trusted in this book. Another solid installment in the series.

Well written, gripping, tense and hard to put down! I look forward to reading the next book in the series!!!

Another great series with a tough cookie as the lead detective. Life has not been very kind to Nikki Hunt in the past, but little by little she has fallen on her feet again and she is happy.

Having been through the wringer yourself often helps to have a better understanding of what other people are going through and I guess you can gain their confidence a lot faster and better. People who open up when interviewed as a witness or a possible suspect, will help the police either in clearing their name or in putting the culprit behind bars.

Of course Nikki can't do it all on her own and she is surrounded by her team and the sheriff who work together like a well oiled machine.

I knew who I did not suspect, but I did not know who to blame for the damage done. This person really lost the plot and turned into a vicious and cruel killer.

An amazing book with great characters that kept me reading like there was no tomorrow. 5 stars

Thank you
