This book groom me quite awhile to read and I struggled a bit with that. It was pretty good and I liked that it took place in Paris. There were a few little twists that I didn’t see coming. Overall 3 stars.

I've enjoyed Kimberly Belle's books in the past and was excited to read the Paris Widow. It is an action-packed thriller with lots of twists and turns. Belle does a great job of immersing the reader in the location, in this case, Paris. I felt the characters were interesting and (at times) shocking. It's everything I love in thrillers. I could see this adapted into a movie.

If ever a book blew me away, it was this one. I have loved every single Belle book I've read, and this one did not disappoint.
First, it's set in Paris ... hello! Then it's focused on a married couple with secrets - one of Kimberly Belle's strengths - and the twists never ended.
From her beautiful writing style to the pacing of the book, this was something I didn't want to put down at night. Even though I read an ebook copy, I'll be buying a print copy to keep on my shelf - and I won't be lending that one out!
A must read!

The Paris Widow was entirely entertaining from the first page! The suspense was excellent. The storyline *chefs kiss *. I was not expecting such a whirlwind of a story. It felt very much National Treasure but make it blood antiquities and throw in a fake murder.

Without giving too much away, the story starts off with a bombing, a missing husband presumed dead, mysterious ring and hidden messages, “do I trust this person?”, burner phones, and… stolen antiquities. But throws in a plot twist right before the HEA.

I LOVED this read. Bravo Kimberly. I will pick up more of your books!

A cat and mouse game turns deadly as Stella searches for her husband Adam during their vacation in Europe. During their dream vacation in Paris, Adam disappears. He returned to a cafe for some sunglasses. Something explodes, taking out a city square, including the cafe. Adam disappears.

Stella learns that Adam was dealing in antiques (the book refers to them as antiquities) that could be stolen. The police think Adam was the target of the bomb. Stella refuses to leave Paris until she finds out the truth. She can sense that she is being followed.

Great ending! "It's what a person does afterward that matters to me more. How they commit to doing better, to being a better person."
The Author's note is educational, about antiquities.

Fast Paced, Action Packed, and Entertaining! 3.5 stars!

Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy. This book will be released 6/11/24.

I zoomed through this book in less than a day! I started it on a flight and quickly found myself more than halfway through it. It is a quick read because it’s incredibly interesting - I was almost immediately invested into the fates of Adam and Stella. That said, there are a lot of moving pieces- characters to figure out, plot twists to work through.

Fabulous book. I loved it.

Even though there were some explanations at the end that I didn't really follow, it was an overall good read. It was short and fast paced - a nice palate cleanser between heavy fantasy novels. There definitely could have been some more character development but maybe that would have bogged down the story? Anyway, I'll likely seek out other things she's written.

Thanks, NetGalley for the ARC!

Stella can’t believe her good fortune. Adam ticks all the boxes and provides a few she didn’t dare expect. Stella’s past is colorful and full of hurt, factors that made Adam all the more alluring. Adam’s ease and attention were just what she needed. The couple is in Paris on separate errands when the unthinkable happens. A blast blows her life apart. Adam was in the area and as she navigates the days she finds her perfect man has a life well beyond the secrets he shared. Stella learns in the days to follow very little that she knew was real. It is here the story gets a pace that will have you sweating its conclusion. Happy reading

Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this eARC. The story centers around Stella & Adam, a seemingly perfectly happy couple on vacation in Paris. While in Paris an explosion occurs and Adam goes missing. As Stella searches frantically for her husband so begins the trail of breadcrumbs for the reader to follow as Stella is putting the pieces of the puzzle together to reveal what has happened to Adam and in doing so revealing not only Adam’s secrets, but her own she has been keeping. This novel was a wild ride filled with thrills at every turn of the page with well developed characters and descriptions of Europe and travels that made you feel connected to the surroundings. I found this one to be binge worthy. 5 glowing stars and big fan of the author

This book gives me major Lucy Foley & Alex Michaelides-vibes. I was intrigued all the way through, especially regarding the theme of one's past and how that can literally come to haunt you.

The Paris Widow keeps readers on the edge of their seats with its rapid-paced romantic thriller of a plot that only gets interesting as it progresses. Bored of her glamorous life, Stella becomes involved with Adam, a regular guy, who shows her he has a dark side. As the story progresses, Stella realizes Adam’s criminal links, and after he disappears, she chooses to remain in Paris to find out the truth. The tension grows as Stella investigates the case further, always in danger. This was one of those romantic thrillers with a very convoluted plot and interesting characters. Everyone should read The Paris Widow.

Thank you to HTP (Harlequin Trade Publishing), Park Row, and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book.

Set in Paris, we follow Stella as she navigates the mysterious explosion that might have killed her husband Adam. She finds out Adam was involved in stolen antiquities and might have been the target of the explosion. This was fast paced and the ending seemed too good to be true but it was entertaining. I can definitely see this as a movie!

I recently read a captivating novel by Kimberly Belle that tells the story of Stella and Adam's idyllic vacation in France, which takes a harrowing turn when a deadly explosion leaves Stella's husband missing. As she grapples with this sudden disappearance, Stella uncovers shocking truths about Adam's involvement in the illicit trade of stolen antiquities, leading to a dangerous situation where she becomes the target of someone who wants her dead.

This gripping tale of mystery and romance kept me enthralled from beginning to end. The intricate plot and suspenseful narrative had me guessing at every turn, and I found myself completely absorbed in the story until the final page.

What I particularly loved about the book was the way it intricately wove in details about French landmarks and historical art pieces, creating a vivid and immersive experience for the reader. The exploration of the underground world added an extra layer of depth to the story, making it feel even more compelling.

In my opinion, this book deserves a solid five-star rating, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a thrilling and immersive read.

What a fun action packed love story!
A dream vacation turns deadly when secrets from the past catch up to a married couple in Paris. When Stella met Adam, she thought she had finally found a nice, normal guy—a welcome change from her previous boyfriend and her precarious jetsetter lifestyle with him. But her secure world comes crashing down when Adam goes missing after an explosion in the city square.
This was absolutely unputdownable which is exactly what we look for in a thriller! So many twists and turns and trust no one mentality. The perfect summer vacation read. I loved this one and can’t wait to read more from Kimberly belle!

While mystery isn't a genre I usually dabble in, I was intrigued by the plot of "The Paris Widow" - and needless to say, didn't regret my decision.

Stella's life seems to be picture perfect at first glance; she's married to the love of her life, Adam, and the two are in the midst of a multi-week trip across Europe, primarily to support Adam's work as an antiquities dealer. Stella currently works at a catering company, but her previous life as a flight attendant means she's had a fair amount of travel experience under her belt as well, and she's enjoyed taking her husband so some of her favorite places and hole-in-the-wall spots across Capri, Malta, and currently: Paris. However, their plans are completely derailed when an explosion erupts in the middle of Paris - right when Adam ran back to the cafe they just left to pick up his lost sunglasses, leaving Stella stranded and searching for her missing husband.

Stella's determination to find her husband's whereabouts lead to more questions than answers, and the novel begins alternating between Stella's and Adam's perspectives across both the past and present. The novel does a great job of building up the suspense in the present as Stella is forced to question who is friend or foe, and reveals, little by little, stories and aspects about both of their pasts that converge in the present.

I enjoyed "The Paris Widow" far more than I thought I would - Kimberly Belle is a skilled writer and did a great job crafting a strong female protagonist; I'm not typically a fan of novels written from a first person perspective, but I think it really helped tie in the suspense and mystery across the chapters. The novel centered on a topic (black market antiquities) I knew very little about as well, and her afterword notes some of the historical figures and items she based her story on. I thought the pacing was well done with just the right number of characters introduced, and some surprises about each of the main characters I wasn't expecting.

I finished this novel over a weekend and would recommend to anyone who appreciates a well-crafted mystery!
