Oh Lyla, this book wrecked my entire world and had me shooketh… I couldn’t put it down, I couldn’t stop reading, and I absolutely fell for Wes and Ada.

I don’t think this book was supposed to make me as emotional as it did, but I saw so so much of myself in Ada that it knocked the wind out of my lungs. This book was sunshine and healing and all the things I needed to look in my own mirror and say “I am enough.”

Wes is also an MMC that is absolutely too damn pure for this world and must be protected at all costs!

Wes and Ada are fantastic! Ada is in town for a renovation at Rebel Blue ranch, and the day before she starts her new project, she meets and makes out with a hot cowboy at the bar. The hot cowboy that happens to be the person overseeing her project and her paycheck.

I love the instant connection between Wes and Ada that really set the tone for this book even though it took them a while to figure themselves out. Wes is the Sun to Ada’s moon and his endless patience and understanding with her just made him absolutely perfect. I related so so much to Ada and found myself healing and hurting with her and also rooting for her!

Plus there is a rescued baby cow named Loretta, so nothing else needs to be said. I’m so glad I’m so fully in my cowboy era that I loved every single word of this!

Swift and Saddled by Lyla Sage was one of my favorite books of the year. This book, unexpectedly, was a great blend of comforting and spicy. I found the pacing throughout the book to be pretty great. I never felt a lull in the story and was never bored. Ada and Wes had great chemistry. I loved their story and individual stories. They both had their own issues to overcome.

oh i was so happy to go back to rebel blue. i absolutely loved done & dusted & i was sooo hype to read book two. wes & ada did not disappoint. i loved their meet cute turned disaster. had me hooked right from the start. these two were just so swoony & perfect. i adore wes. protect this man at all cost. the way he falls so hard just melted me. & i loved the mental health rep in this one. the home renovation angle was such a fun story line - it really made the forced proximity so good. the push & pull between them built such good tension. & the spice?! yes. all the yes. definitely recommend taking a trip to rebel blue if you haven't yet. i mean, who doesn't love a cowboy?

there's something about lyla's stories that i just love. i love her characters, they are real and raw and she always represents mental health in some capacity that allows for the reader to see themselves in her books.

ada was very much a black cat (a girl after my own heart) and struggled to find her place (because same girl). wes was the golden retriever, and that boy did not disappoint. i normally don't love the golden retriever character, but there was something about wes that you just couldn't help but love. the way they were both down bad for each other, even when ada was unsure of feeling loved or deserving of that love, wes was always there to reassure her and to support her while also giving her the grace to work through her own insecurities.

I went into this book blind, I'd heard good things about the first one and wanted to see what the hype was about and it was well warranted. This is the type of book people ask why you have a dumb smile on your face while reading. The FMC, Ada, had a complicated way of thinking about things, meaning she kept trying to stop her own blessings, but it was described and talked about in such a great way. You could actively see her trying to work through her pain and past issues with her ex-husband as well as not bring too much of that with her on her new adventure of following her dreams. Wes, the MMC, might be one of my favorite MMC's to date. He completely understood boundaries and saw that Ada was trying to be professional and work with him and he respected that even if he really liked her. This book was a slow burn but it also was realistic and I loved that. All the side characters of books past and future also make for a great addition to the story. You want to catch up with them and see why they react one way or another to different people and it really sets you up to be invested in the rest of the books. I will be going back and reading the first book for sure as well as setting an alarm for the next book because Teddy and Gus have a chokehold on me. Thank you so much to Netgalley for allowing me to review this book!

Wes was so sweet. I loved him, loved the way he believed in Ada. Wes being open with his depression was so real but I would’ve liked to see more discussion about it.

I thought I would’ve connected with Ada more because I absolutely love a black cat FMC, but with the slow pace in the beginning of the story I felt that she constantly mentioned how unlikeable she was & how she had no one. Ada referencing her being “too much” and that’s what drives people away just seemed to surface level for me.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 rounded up to 4 because I love the cover.

Even though I did enjoy reading this book and I loved the characters, I feel like nothing really happened. This was a very fast and easy read, and I am looking forward to reading the next book.

This book is about a city girl who takes a job at a ranch after needing to start over somewhere new. While at the new job, she meets a cowboy who quickly becomes a special person in her life. Wes and Ada were so cute together! I could see myself in Ada at times so I really enjoyed her character because I could relate to her. For a romance book, the length was perfect. Every romance book should be this length. I personally really enjoyed the story and the romance was so sweet and kind. I loved Wes because of how much he loved Ada. I’m a sucker for the nickname “sweetheart”. If you are looking for a quick and wholesome read, this is the romance book for you!

I loved this book so much! I read Done and Dusted and this back to back and they were both 5 stars. The characters were so well done, and the smut was *chefs kiss. I can’t wait for the final book in this series.

I LOVE this series!

Wes & Ada’s story was sweet, spicy, & so fun! I appreciated the balance between playful romance & heavier themes. I loved how Ada’s career was represented, and the connections to her past.

I loved seeing the characters from the first book tied in, especially Luke & Emmy! The way Sage describes the Montana ranch is incredible.

I can’t wait for the next installment in this series!

I ADORED this book. It felt like sunshine & summer and was absolutely the perfect read. I loved how this book built on the world started in Done & Dusted, and the dynamic between Wes & Ada was CHEFS KISS. I really appreciated that we got a look into Ada's past & Wes' mental health and I think that depth made the book that much better!
There were so many lines I loved — both swoony and funny— that I'll add to this review once the book publishes! I also loved getting to see the characters from D&D, and the growing female friendship between Ada and the other girls made me emotional.
This was an absolute gem of a book and I can't wait for it to release! Thanks to NetGalley and The Dial Press for the ARC.

I almost always need a good cowboy romance. Lyla Sage fits the bill when I need her. This is the continued story of the Ryder family and their ranch. While you don't HAVE to read them in order, there is depth to be gained by doing so. We see the beginnings of Wes's plans to create a lodge out of the old ranch house on the Rebel Blue Ranch in Done & Dusted, but that dream comes to life in Swift and Saddled. Ada is the designer hired to help bring his dream to life and the heat between them is fire from the first chapter. They both have their struggles and challenges, but together they grow into who they need for each other.

It's fast and steamy and has just enough depth to give it heart without a heavy hand. If I already forced you to read Carly Bloom or Elsie Silver, this should be your next read.

This was the return to Meadowlark that we all needed!
Somehow I loved Wes and Ada's story better than Luke and Emmy's. This story had so much tension and wanting. It kept me so invested in Wes and Ada and hanging on until the moment they got their happily ever after. These characters had so much depth and realness to them, both fighting their own demons, but somehow better together.
Wes is a cowboy who spends his days on his family's ranch and is working to open up a bed and breakfast on the property. Ada is an interior designer, who is hired to transform the old farmhouse into a desirable bed and breakfast. The two run into each other at the town bar and are instantly drawn to each other, without knowing who the other is. And once they find out they will be working together they both realize that the other is off limits. Don't we love a forbidden love?!

Such a good follow-up to the first in this series! I LOVE book sequels that are able to tie in the previous books without making it overshadow the main plot of the book, and this one did that so well. Luke and Emmy had so many good pop-ups in this book in ways that felt organic to the characters. And the epilogue??? So so so good. Books written like that make the world it exists in feel more realistic than "these two characters got together and then nothing ever happened for them ever again".

Ada and Wes are also such a good balance to each other. I was worried from the blurb that it was gonna be a lot of self-sabotage from Ada, and there was, but it wasn't just her being terrible to him over and over again and him just taking it. It felt realistic to someone who had been through what she's been through and is over it, but it still left his mark on her.

There were something that felt a little incomplete for me. For one, the phone call?? What was it about???? I am nothing if not nosy, and even though that wasn't the main focus of the phone call occuring. I. Need. To. Know. I'm hoping more of these little holes get resolved in the third/future books in the series.

Overall, such a strong follow-up and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next one.

Thank you PRHAudio for the free audiobook and Dial Press for the ebook. Swift and Saddled is about Weston Ryder and Ada Hart. Ada is hired to help Wes remodel the guest house but when she arrives in Meadowlark, she (unknowingly) meets Wes in Brooks’ bar. They share a hot kiss in the hallway before Ada runs out, thinking she’ll never see this stranger again. However, she shows up the next morning for her first day of work only to realize Wes is the guy from the bar. From there, Wes and Ada try to keep things professional, but as they get to know each other and learn about their dreams, they keeping finding ways to spend more and more time together. Wes is such a sweetheart and all around good guy. I was rooting for him from the beginning. I really appreciated Wes’ frank discussion of depression and his medication that showed he isn’t ashamed of it. Compared to book 1, I felt like there was a lot more relationship development and back story in this one, but still with plenty of spice. Swift and Saddled included more of the Ryder family and really set up the series for more. I can’t wait for Lost & Lassoed because Gus…omg, that’s going to be a great enemies to lovers story!

In your acknowledgements for Swift and Saddled you wondered if you were cut out for this - you are!

Swift and Saddled was even better than Done and Dusted and made me eager to read more about these people. The family dynamic created is beautiful, and the banter between the sibling had me laughing out loud. This is a romance, but I really liked the love of family and sense of community in this book as well.

Ada was a strong character, who wanted to take back her life and make it her own after being hurt and never feeling good enough. In doing so she may have pushed people who genuinely cared away, but she is able to grow as a character and work through her doubts by letting others in. Wes is so pure. He is one of the sweetest characters I've ever read. I love that he sees Ada even when she doesn't see herself. He's encouraging, and supportive. These two really complemented each other!

This was a great read and I can't wait for more (Praying for a Cam book!)

Lyla Sage has done it again! This was such a beautiful and steamy romance novel.. I absolutely loved both characters separately. But together.....ugh, IN LOVE. Mr. Weston (dimples) Ryder was so unbelievably amazing with our FMC Ada Hart. Wes was exactly the kind of man she needed after a short-lived marriage. I loved Ada's black cat energy and how she was able to be herself around Wes. I also felt so sad for her as she didn't really have a "tribe" and I think a lot of readers will identify with her character.
I loved the mental health rep in this novel and believe it was done perfectly and felt real and raw.
Can I just live in Meadowlark? Just like Done and Dusted, I felt so immersed in this quaint town.
I couldn't help but root for Wes & Ada from day 1 in the bar. SPICY!

& of course, I loved the sibling banter and papa Ryder! They are all just so wholesome and authentic.
Amazing novel & I can NOT wait to read the third book as soon as it comes out. FIVE STAR READ FOR ME!!!

I was so excited to get this arc oh my.! I had heard so many good things about this book and it did not disappoint. This is a small town, cowboy romance with a golden retriever mmc, and a reverse grumpy sunshine. I fell in love with all things Rebel Blue Ranch and the characters Wes & Ada are the cutest, and so relateable. I loved seeing past characters, because I definitely missed them and I can’t wait to see the series continue. 5/5 stars and a must must read ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
