Lyla Sage does it again! If you loved “Done and Dusted” you will love “Swift and Saddled.” Ada Hart is an aspiring designer who is hired to turn the old house at Rebel Blue into a B&B. When she meets a handsome stranger at the local dive bar on her first night in town, she’s lets the cowboy briefly take her away…until she comes to her senses and flees the scene. When Ada learns that the cowboy in question is actually her new boss, Wes Ryder, she makes a promise to herself not to get involved. But sparks fly as the pair fix up the B&B, and Ada soon realizes she may be in for more than she bargained for.

I love a good cowboy romance, and despite this only being the second book from Lyla Sage, she already knows the genre well. I can’t wait to read the next installment in the Rebel Blue Ranch series.

Ada (FMC) is an interior designer hired by Wes (MMC) to help with a renovation at Rebel Blue Ranch. Ada is eager to prove herself in her career after some bumps in her past, especially her past relationships. While Wes is trying to build and find his niche on his family ranch. After an accidental kiss the first time they meet they promise to keep everything between them above board, especially since Ada plans to leave as soon as the project is done to build her career. However, the more time they spend together the closer they get and the harder it is to fight their feelings.
Overall I truly enjoyed this book! Wes is pure perfection! The main characters had real issues that. Ade them relatable. I think delving deeper into their past issues would have tapped into some more emotions. The banter and tension was on point! Love all the Ryders. Cannot wait to see what is in store for Teddy and Gus!

I adored Done & Dusted, but Wes and Ada were a whole new level for me in Swift & Saddled. LOVED!

There is just something about a cowboy, small town romance and I loved being back at Rebel Blue Ranch.

The Ryder family has a chokehold on my heart. And Ada - watching her learn to love herself again and realize that she has found her people and where she belongs!

Then there's the romance between Ada and Wes. When he says to her "I see you, Ada. I always see you, even when you won't look at me." SWOON! She was vulnerable and had been hurt. She didn't trust others. She didn't even trust herself. And he was so patient and giving. He was willing to wait. Didn't pressure her. But you could totally feel his love for her! And when they open up and each share things they really haven't shared with others, you knew their love was going to last!

I loved that the characters for book one were intermingled and we learned more about them. And I totally cannot wait for book 3. Enemies to lovers is an all time favorite and I already know I will love it.

Many thanks to NetGalley and The Dial Press - Random House for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Huge thanks to the publisher and author for this copy that I was approved on NetGalley. I will always be grateful for the opportunity to read swift and saddled some days before the bookbithday

Do outro lado, temos o nosso amadinho e fofissímo Wes.

Having never read a cowboy romance I had no idea what to expect and this book definitely surprised me! I loved it from beginning to end and enjoyed the slow burn between Ada and Wes. Having Ada and Wes both explain their mental health circumstances was such a realistic take and made me connect better with them.

Wes being a southern gentleman was just perfect with Ada's black cat personality. The book ended in a perfect way and I can't wait for more! I've already picked up Done and Dusted before I even finished this book and am excited to read more about Rebel Blue!

*ARC Review* thank you to NetGalley & Random House Publishing Group for this ARC!

“…depression wasn’t a logical disease. It was an unexpected cold front in the middle of July.”

I love that Lyla Sage wasn’t afraid to talk about the not so fun topic of depression in Swift & Saddled. Meeting Wes in Done & Dusted, you would never guess that this happy, sunshine-y, golden retriever MMC would struggle with depression, but I think that just made him more real to me.

As someone who has struggled with depression since high school, I felt seen through Wes, and found myself highlighting a lot of things said in his internal monologue because they resonated with me.

Ada was your stereotypical black cat FMC, but at the same time, she wasn’t. Her trauma from her past relationships was understandable, and Wes’ patience with her was really beautiful.

As with Done & Dusted, I wish this book had been longer - I think it would’ve been nice to see more of Ada helping Wes through his own trauma, and not just Wes helping Ada.

All in all, this was such a sweet, quick read, and it definitely lived up to the hype of Done & Dusted. I can’t wait to finally read Teddy & Gus’ story next (then maybe Cam & Dusty?????)!!

Dare I say that I loved this one more than the first?! Swift and Saddled just feels so effortless and wholesome. I loved seeing so much of the FMC & MMC’s relationship progression. I felt very invested in them and it was easy to drool over Wes.

This book had everything you loved from the first and then some. We get more of the sweet tight knit family and the fun loving vibe. There was more backstory to the family and for Ada to really understand and relate to these characters. It's easy to want to be apart of them.

You’ll definitely want to get your hands on this one. This has me even more excited for the third book releasing later in the year!!

This book was so sweet! I loved Ada and Wes's story. Wes is such a sweetheart/sunshine MMC and I loved how he showed up for and supported Ada. Without giving away any spoilers I appreciate that both characters had real human flaws/struggles that they discussed and acknowledged. Love to see that healthy communication. I fell even more in love with the Ryder family. Not only did we get to see more of Brooks and Emmy but know everyone a little better. Can Amos be my dad? Already looking forward visiting Rebel Blue Ranch again in book 3.

Ada gets her shot at leaving home and making a name for herself. She arrives at Meadowlark and spots a sexy cowboy at a bar. Sparks instantly fly and they get STEAMY for a quick second. Doesn’t matter they’re just strangers. Right?

Ms. City girl who isn’t looking for love, finds nothing but a spark and real connection with that “stranger” Wes Ryder, who so happens to be the one contracting her for a job…

Wes is the BIGGEST southern gentleman who will take care of you and learn everything you need, so you never have to feel unseen. But don’t think this gentleman can’t get demanding and dirty!!! This book has the PERFECT amount of spice, as well as found family, and romantic moments.

Thank you, Lyla, Netgalley, and Random House for the opportunity to read this arc for an honest review. This book stole my heart.

Thank you NetGalley and Lyla Sage for this ARC of Swift and Saddled!

After reading Done and Dusted last year I was so excited to read Ada and Wes's story this year in Swift and Saddled. I love Rebel Blue Ranch and all of these close-knit characters so much. If you love a good, spicy cowboy romance, beautiful descriptions of ranches, and cute animals, then this book is for you. I really recommend this book and am really looking forward to Teddy and Gus's story next.

✨ ARC REVIEW ✨

"I never asked you to be the sun...I would rather have the moon anyway."

I LOVED THIS BOOK SO DAMN MUCH! I didn't want it to end. I am obsessed with Ada and Wes. They were just so cute- and the sweetheart nickname + cold hands and feet might be my new favorites. Wes is just so perfectly patient and he sees who Ada really is and never tries to change her. I love that he wants her to learn, grow, and be free. He doesn't want to hold her back from anything in life. The slow burn in this one was amazing and when these two finally got together- fireworks! I started this book and couldn't put it down. I highly recommend it!!

Lyla Sage has knocked it out of the park again! I flew right through Swift and Saddled, just as I did with Done and Dusted.

We start back up where we left off - this time through the eyes of Ada Hart, who has just arrived in Meadowlark and is ready to take on the biggest design project of her career. She’s mortified by an impromptu makeout session with a random cowboy in the Devil’s Boot bar the night before starting her new job, and even moreso when the cowboy isn’t as random as she thought he was.

Lyla Sage has a remarkable talent for creating characters that are so real and relatable. In Done and Dusted, I felt so connected to Emmy while she managed the struggles that come with ADHD. Now, in Swift and Saddled, Ada’s shyness, self-doubt, and trouble connecting with others highlight feelings many of us experience, but not many speak openly about. Watching Ada let her walls down and finally experience true love, friendship, and girlhood was like a warm hug. I loved the dynamic between Ada, Teddy, Emmy, and Cam, and how the girls accepted Ada in with open arms from the start.

I loved getting a peek into how others view Emmy and Luke’s relationship, as well as getting to know other members of the Ryder clan more deeply. We also get to see candid moments between the Ryder siblings that will make you laugh out loud.

The Rebel Ranch series has quickly become my comfort series and a sweet Western escape that never disappoints. I’m already eager to read Lost and Lassoed!

Thank you Dial Press and NetGalley for the ARC!

eek! I was so excited to return back to the ranch. I absolutely loved the first book in the series and when I heard our girl miss Lyla was writing more in the series I preordered so fast.

I was graciously provided this book as an early read and when I got the email I downloaded the book and started as quick as you could say YEE-HAW!

This book follows Ada and Wes. Ada is hired to come in and renovate one of the older homes on the Rebel Blue Ranch. While Ada breezes through the city she stops at a local bar to grab something to eat and drink. She encounters a fluffy cute dog and a hot cowboy. Next thing you know she is in the hallway with said hot cowboy until the moment is cut short and she is running out of there.

When Ada shows up for her first day at the ranch she is met with the same hot cowboy from the bar.

This book had me smiling, laughing and all types of giddy.

If you haven't explored this series - you should.

One favorite quote from the book: "The little things are the big things, Ada. They're the things all the big things are made of. I might not know you all the way, but I want to, and I'm just asking you to give me a chance to do that."

I cannot wait for the third book in the series to come out.

Now to decide if I am going to attempt to make Wes's Spanakopita.

Transported right back to the Rebel Blue Ranch and deep down with these amazing characters. The hopeless romantic in me loved this book so much. Cowboy Wes!! Sad it’s over I need more!

“I never asked you to be the sun. I would rather have the moon anyway. You’re the moon. And I’m the tides. You pull me in without even trying, and I come to you willingly. I always will.”

Oh to be the girl wooed by cowboy in a Lyla Sage romance. I love that she blends contemporary romance with real representations of mental health. Specifically in Swift & Saddled, Wes has major depressive disorder. I love that Lyla doesn’t shy away from real things in her books and her characters are so much realer for that. Also, the fact there is so much asking for consent is extremely important and gratifying.

Ada went on such a journey in this book and I loved seeing how she eventually found a home in Wes. I also really appreciated the way she and Wes handled the third act which wasn’t miscommunication or a break up - but adults who 👏🏻 ACTUALLY 👏🏻 COMMUNICATE! How refreshing in a contemporary romance.

I cannot freaking wait for Gus and Teddy’s story. The build up is exciting.

I devoured this book in one sitting… I am still smiling!

Lyla Sage’s writing is so light, the dialogue is quippy but also really tender, and, as a woman, I just find myself resonating so deeply with her FMCs. Ada’s journey of worthiness and connectedness, especially with other women, is so tender and real. I loved seeing her ups and downs and being with her along the way.

Wes is… well, he’s heaven. Heaven in chaps. Lyla’s MMC is so gentle… it’s such a sensitive masculinity but also he’s challenging and creative and loyal and protective! To quote my girl Ada, “He just does it for me.”

This book was so tender, sweet, and had me giggling. I loved being reunited with the Ryder clan and I really loved the growing friendships between Emmy, Teddy, Cam, and Ada. They are the type of friends you want to follow along with! This book was also 🔥🌶️, with a little “will they, won’t they” slow burn action. But I also loved the REAL talks about sex and intimacy that Wes and Ava had…. Honestly, it made it even better.

This book was a great read, I literally can’t wait for the next one…. I feel a book hangover from this already. Such an easy 5 stars… please read this, I can’t stop recommending it!

4.5 stars!

I liked this one SO much more than book 1!!!

Book 2 had me actually invested in Ada and Wes from the start!
The meet cute! The back story! The depression representation! Yes ma’am, I will take seconds and thirds of this shit!

Ada is an interior designer who we first learn about in book 1. She’s being hired by the Ryder family to renovate their father’s family home that sits on their property, affectionally named ‘baby blue” by Weston. This is Wes’s personal pet project and hopes that it will be his hold on the family legacy since Gus will inherit the farm one day and Wes wants one thing to be just his to shine within his family.

Ada and Wes have exchanged emails for months but when they first meet it’s inside Luke Brooks dive bar and the two end up ferociously making out without exchanging names! It was hot!! Cut to the next day and they find out who each other is!! Ahhh! I squealed! The chemistry was there, the proper romance channels were aligned, and the forced proximity was giving me life!

Ada was previously married to a man who up and left her one day after 3 months of marriage and made sure she never had an ounce of control in their relationship. They had one car that was a stick shift (which she couldn’t drive) and she didn’t even know their bank card pin! This man really fucked her up and she was so hesitant to start anything with Wes for good reason, despite him also being her boss. When this man taught her home to drive a stick shift…. You guys…. I fucking melted. Wes was nothing but sweet, tender, and so so aware of Ada’s every need. He even BAKES for her! He is perfection! Absolutely my favorite Ryder brother to date.

I loved that Wes took steps to make Ada feel welcomed and comfortable at Rebel Blue Ranch. He had no ego when it came to winning her over and I absolutely loved every second of it. One line I loved was from Wes when he was addressing Ada where he says “I never asked you to be the sun. I’d rather have the moon anyways…You’re the moon and I’m the tides. You pull me in without even trying and I come to you willingly, I always will.” I DIEDDDDDD!!

Thank you Layla Sage, NetGalley, Dial Press & Penguin Random House Audio for this incredible ARC!

Short synopsis: Ada is an interior designer hired to help fix up the Big House at Rebel Blue Ranch, when she kisses a stranger in the bar.

My thoughts: I’m really loving this series and family! I quickly picked this one up after reading done and dusted, and was so excited to get Wes’s story.

I loved learning more about Wes, and really liked the vulnerability he showed with his depression. Ada was so broken, and watching her walls come down and learning to trust and love again was so sweet.

I did part of this on audio, and the narrator did such a great job. I could feel the vulnerability and emotion the narrator was trying to portray. Be prepared for some spice in this series, there’s quite a few packed into this shortie.
