If you like a clean romance with a bit of mystery then you will love this one. So good! My words can't do it justice so just make time to read it.
This is a Romantic Suspense. This book is a fast paced full of action and suspense with some clean romance mixed into it. I really enjoyed reading this book. I loved the characters in this book. There was so much going on in this book, but I feel it was done really well. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Love Inspired Suspense) or author (Terri Reed) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.
A fast paced Christmas romantic suspense. I tend to love my Christmas reads with a little bit of mystery and suspense. So a Christmas romantic suspense is right up my alley.
Undercover Christmas Escape is an action/adventure novel written by Terri Reed.
Summary: Partners DEA agent Duncan O’Brien and deputy US marshal Sera Morales are tracking a dangerous gang, and they finally have a lead.
Can they shut down this new flood of drugs and violence erupting in Texas, or will the high-tech criminals gain the upper-hand and get to them first?
My Thoughts: This book was OK. I liked that there was a ton of action, and some interesting twists and turns to the story.
But, there were also some things the characters did where you just wondered how they could be super smart on some things, and really not use their smarts in other situations.
Also the romance was a little predictable as well. They hate each other, but over the crisis their feelings completely change. With all the the guns, and things blowing up they somehow discover they are meant to be? Eh. A little much for me.
Overall, this wouldn’t be a book I would read again, but if you are looking for a novel with plenty of action and some romance, and don’t mind some pretty predictable elements, this book could be for you.
I would like to thank Harlequin for providing me with a free digital copy of this book in exchange for my review. Thank you
A fast paced adventure that takes off right from the start as Sera Morales and Duncan O'Brien team up to take down a drug cartel.
A wonderful read, with an engaging plot, and characters that I came to care for quickly. Despite their differences, Duncan and Sera make a great team and I liked how they worked together, finding common ground in their shared faith and mission.
Action-packed, with quick thinking heroes, great character growth and interaction, as well as relationship building. A full plot and satisfying read. A great read that was hard to put down!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This book was so very good that I couldn't put it down.

Lots of twists and turns that will keep u guessing until the end! Generally I guess them right off but not this time!
You just never know what or where you might find action or what could go wrong with anything in life. I just adored this book.

I'm reviewing Undercover Christmas Escape through Harlequin-Love Inspired Suspense and Netgalley:
There's a deadly price to pay for an undercover mission...
We had a simple mission: infiltrate a Christmas party, gather evidence, and take down a drug cartel. DEA agent Duncan O'Brien and deputy US marshal Sera Morales encounter more than they expected when masked thieves crash their undercover operation and abduct Sera. Can Duncan and Sera work together to catch a merciless drug lord before this Christmas becomes their last?
I give Undercover Christmas Escape five out of five stars!
Happy Reading!
Sera and Duncan are working on an undercover case when Sera spots her missing sister gets herself kidnapped and manages to escape. Now Sera will do everything she can to safely get herself back but also continue on the case with Duncan to take down this drug cartel.
This is the perfect time to read this book. I love reading books that match the time of season is. I enjoyed following along with the characters as they worked on taking down the cartel, finding her sister and eventually working together on how to keep the sister safe while also doing their case. There was a lot of moving parts and things cropping up to really keep Sera and Duncan on the move. This was such a fast paced read which I also appreciate. This holiday season makes it hard to just take a break and it didn't take long to escape into this book.
Another great mystery by Terri Reed. Sera and Duncan find themselves undercover at a Christmas party and Santa and Mrs. Claus. They are trying to gather information about a drug lord. Things take a turn when gunmen invade the party and take Sera hostage. Things go even further south when Sera recognizes one of the gunmen.
This is Sera and Duncan's journey to admit their feeling for each other as well as to solve the mystery. This isn't an edge of your seat mystery. But still an good mystery.
I received this book from Love Inspired Suspense via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.
Full of suspense, drama and a little bit of romance. I enjoyed the story of Sera and Duncan and enjoyed getting to know Angie and Grace. There was lots of action to keep me glued to the edge of my seat.
Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.
An engaging modern crime book. In this book, the characters are fighting criminals and working on taking down organized crime. This fast paced book follows great lines of family hurt and love. An undercurrent of Christianity.
I highly recommend this adventurous thriller. It is a quick read that keeps the reader engaged and on the edge of their seat.
What a fun suspenseful book! I had never read one of their suspense books but it was so fun!
Sweet little Christmas story about taking down the cartel, while simultaneously falling in love! It was so enjoyable!
Hats off to the author for such a unique way to begin a book! Two undercover agents pose as Santa and Mrs. Clause! DES Agent Duncan O'Brian and Deputy US Marshal Sera Morales join forces to take down a dangerous drug lord. They work together to make a good partnership, but peril is all around. Unexpectedly, Sera's estranged sister appears in the middle of it all and makes matters more complicated. Sera and Duncan need to protect one another and survive the dangers posed by several sources, while they wonder if they dare to deepen their personal relationship. They pray for God's help. The ending is just as enchanting as the beginning of the story!
I appreciate the publishers allowing me to read an advanced copy of the book. The thoughts expressed are my own.
This book is totally filled with suspense and clean romance. It definitely kept me guessing until the end and I found it hard to put down because I could not wait to see the outcome. Very intriguing for sure. I highly recommend this book and it would make a great gift for those who love clean, suspenseful books.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher. All words are my own. This books is from the Harlequin Love inspired suspense series and was published November 28, 2023.
Sera and Duncan are on a routine assignment with their task force until Sera is faced with a blast from her past.
Rival cartels with no boundaries, greed and surprises make for non stop action. A good addition for your Christmas reads.
I received an advanced reader copy from Harlequin and Netgalley. Opinions are my own.
This was a high action workplace romance. Plenty of suspense, law enforcement, criminals, and danger. This book highlighted faith, family, and forgiveness. It had sweet, Christmassy moments and harrowing danger. I breezed through it.
Undercover Christmas Escape by Terri Reed has an undercover operation taking an unexpected turn when deputy US marshal Sera Morales’ missing sister turns out to be one of the bad guys. I had mixed feelings about Undercover Christmas Escape. I found Sera to be a frustrating character. She risks an important undercover operation for personal reasons. I understood that she wanted to find out what had happened to her sister, but I did not feel it should take a higher precedence than the joint task force drug case. Sera is one of those people who will do what she wants no matter the consequences. DEA Agent Duncan O’Brien likes things to be planned out, but he must deal with Sera’s impulsive nature if he is to keep her alive. Sera, of course, does not want help. Duncan must frequently persuade Sera to accept his help and let him be the front runner which leads to plenty of clashes. Despite both parties having trust issues, romance blooms between them. I thought the romance happened too fast (blink and you miss it). I can see plenty of disagreements in their future. There were some details regarding the case that I found out of place. I could not see this team of law enforcement professionals (they were not newbies) making such errors (I know it is fiction, but details matter). I felt the story needed to be tightened up. The Christian element was nicely intertwined into the tale. I appreciated that there was no foul language or intimate situations. There was plenty of action that kept the story lively. I thought the ending was cute and nicely tied into Christmas.
Like all Love Inspired Suspense books, Reed's story combines suspense and romance, with some Christian themes woven throughout. I enjoyed the book and liked the main characters, Sera Morales and Duncan O'Brien. Because Love Inspired stories are just over 200 pages, some aspects of this book felt underdeveloped, such as Duncan's character and motivation. Unfortunately, the falling in love also gets glossed over, with the relationship between Sera and Duncan going from simple attraction to much more too quickly. I wish there could have been a better balance between the suspense and romance.
Overall, "Undercover Christmas Escape" is a good, easy read that entertains.
I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
Opening with Santa and Mrs. Claus at a party, Duncan and Sera make an impression right away. The elements of the title are all present. The good guys are undercover. They have several escapes from the bad guys. And it’s Christmas time in Texas.
I enjoyed reading Undercover Christmas Escape. There is plenty of action, a family reunion and a developing love. Thanks to Netgalley and Love Inspired Suspense for the opportunity to read this book.
