As a retelling of the Aztec myth Popo and Izta, this book delivered. It is passable as a YA romance and blends modern and mythical in an interesting way. I do wish I would have gotten more detail on Aztec life and that there had been a bit more to the story, but the authors delivered what they promised in the description.

Left me lacking a bit. It's a bit wordy and overdone on the backstory side, and felt like a lot was surface level and happened too quickly.
