This is a good book. The two main characters are Emerson and Steel. They have known each other since high school. Emerson is going to college and hasn’t seen Steel in two years. Stell walks into her science class. He is a changed man. He sees Emerson list of things she wants to do. He offers to help her complete her list. There is an attraction. She takes Steel up n his offer. They start dating. They fall in love.
Emerson and Nash's love story is beautiful. Emerson is a bio/chem major while Nash plans to do his MBA. Nash is a reformed playboy. Its the perfect book for people who love college romance, good girl/reformed playboy romance and a HEA.
This is the second book in the Lesson in Love series. This is a YA, contemporary romance series. I'd consider this a novella vs a full length book due to the page length at 121 pages. It's an easy, quick read filled with opposites attract banter. I always enjoy books with STEM representation and this one did not disappoint.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
HEA: yes
POV: dual 1st person POV
spice: a few open-door spicy scenes
TWs: alcoholism, cheating (not MCs), death of a parent (recounted)
standalone: book 2 in Lessons in Love series (can be read as a standalone)
final thoughts: this was a sweet, steamy, good girl/(reformed) bad boy novella about the daughter of a high school dean and the son of a famous rock star who get to know each other in college after being forced to be science partners.
Steel was sweet, possessive, and willing to be anything Emerson needed just to be by her side.
Emerson was trying to get out from under her parent’s thumbs and find out who she is beyond the dean’s good girl daughter and Steel is the best/worst option for that to happen.
I read this in one sitting, and it was fast paced and easy to read. Can’t wait to read the rest of these novellas!

"Blinded Me With Science" by Tara September is an electrifying journey into the collision of opposites, proving that when chemistry meets destiny, sparks fly!
In this captivating tale, Emerson Powers, the quintessential good girl, finds herself entangled with Steel, the notorious bad boy. Their unlikely pairing sets the stage for a rollercoaster ride of emotions, as they navigate the fine line between love and heartbreak.
What makes this book shine is its refreshing take on the age-old trope of opposites attract. Tara September masterfully crafts characters that leap off the page, each with their own quirks and complexities. Emerson's steadfast determination to excel in her studies contrasts beautifully with Steel's rebellious charm, creating a dynamic that keeps readers hooked from start to finish.
As Emerson and Steel embark on a journey of self-discovery and mutual exploration, readers are treated to a delightful blend of humor, romance, and heartfelt moments. From secret experiments to spontaneous adventures, every chapter is a testament to the power of connection and the unpredictability of love.
But what truly sets "Blinded Me With Science" apart is its underlying message about forgiveness and second chances. As Emerson grapples with her preconceived notions of who Steel is, she learns that sometimes, people are more than the sum of their past mistakes. Through their shared experiences, Emerson and Steel discover that love transcends labels and expectations, proving that sometimes, the most unlikely pairings are the ones destined to last.
In the end, "Blinded Me With Science" is a triumphant celebration of love, growth, and the transformative power of embracing the unknown. Tara September's impeccable storytelling and vibrant characters make this a must-read for anyone who believes in the magic of romance and the infinite possibilities of the heart. Prepare to be dazzled, enchanted, and utterly charmed by this captivating tale where, indeed, science always wins!
I love how this novel brilliantly blends romance with the intriguing world of scientific research, creating a narrative that is both enlightening and immensely enjoyable. he lead characters in this story, with their passion for science and complex personal lives, are not only believable but also deeply engaging. Their journey together, filled with intellectual debates, personal discoveries, and romantic tension, was portrayed with a perfect balance of depth and levity. The author's clever use of scientific themes to drive the story's romance was particularly impressive. It added a layer of originality and intelligence that is not often found in typical romance novels. The dialogue, rich with witty banter and scientific references, kept me entertained and educated in equal measure. Definitely for readers who enjoy Ali H. who wrote the "Love Hypothesis".
Blinded Me With Science (Lesson In Love #2) was a great read by Tara September.Emerson Powers has focused on obtaining her science degree even if that means she neglected everything else. She is starting her junior year and is determined to broaden her horizons socially. She decides to teach the rock star's son to be goo, even when he shows her how to be bad. Stell isn't the same person that Emerson knew from prep school and he wants to prove it to her. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.
5 Stars – Blinded Me with Science by Tara September is a quick, easy read. Really, it ended too soon! So, we have our FMC Emerson, a junior at Thatcher College, who is a science major and a brainy/focused student to her own detriment. She realizes that she has missed out on a few essential college experiences (in her mind) and creates a brief list of things to do in her current year. Emerson went to high school with Steel, our MMC, and he has just transferred into Thatcher. He was always the prankster bad boy in high school, so she just wants to stay away from him. Steel has been very interested in Emerson since high school and even transferred into Thatcher to see Emerson. They get paired up for a biology assignment and then their chemistry takes over. They are an adorable couple once they work through a few issues. Their banter is spot on and fun to read. Such a fun college romance, with enemies of lovers and opposites attract.
A big Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
This was my first book that I have read from Tara September and I loved it!! It was a super fast read and it was super easy to follow. I loved the main character Em and how the romance between her and Steel was not a long slow burn. I also liked how they both voiced their feelings and the romance was not long and drawn out. The characters were well developed along with the setting of the school. There is not one thing that I would change about this book. I listened to the audio version of this book and the narrator was really good. Thanks for a great book. I look forward to reading more from this author.
While this book was good, I didn't connect with it as strongly as I did On The Rebound, the book after this one (yes, I read out of order.) Emerson is a good h and Steel (our H) has really turned his life around to be the type of person that would deserve someone like Emerson. I think my biggest concern is the epilogue. I wish we had been given a glimpse further in the future, not less than a year. I want to know that my YA couples make it for the long run, not just while they are still in school. For what I like best about books by Tara September is I really do laugh out loud several times reading her books, that is always a strong plus for me. This book is a strong 4 stars. Thank you Tara September and NetGalley for a review copy.
This novella was so so cute! It was short, which I loved, but I caught myself wanting it to be a full novel, these characters were so good for each other 🤍 And both were so relatable, I especially related to Emerson, her thoughts on being a good girl and how hard it could be really resonated with me (which I think is a hard thing to do in a novella) and her bucket list was so real! 📚 I also really liked that it was science related (it was the reason I asked the ARC in the first place, I will always be a STEM girlie 🔬) and I was really happy that it was a center piece in the story 🤍 In such a short lengths of pages, the author made me want to read the all novellas of the series, her writing is so sooth, and her characters so real and funny 🤍
This book was okay. The characters are sweet, but there’s not much characterization to really get attached to the characters. It is a very fast read though.
This an a book that at beginning this got my attention
Gave it 3 stars for me its still a good rating
Probably one i wont reread but still a good read
This was a super quick, fun read! Emerson is a bit of a goody-two-shoes, but it’s time to take some risks. She makes a list that includes having fun at college…. She’s paired in a science lab with Steel, who she knows from her childhood. He hurt her with his pranks, though, and Emerson wonders if he can be trusted.
Sweet and spicy!
What a sweet rom-com read that seamlessly blends, romance, second chances and spicy beginnings set in the vibrant world of academia. Emerson is very focused on her studies in science. Steel, is the son of a famous band frontman, and crushed on Emerson back in high school. He later transfers into her college just for the second chance with her. Emerson and Steel are fire!
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I think this was a cute and short novella. It was quick, but there was enough of a plot there that it made some sort of sense. I feel that novellas can sometimes move too quickly and not have all parts of the plot represented. This is something that I would recommend to someone who wanted something cute and quick to read.
While this story was a quick read, the author still did an amazing job of setting the back story as well as developing the main characters. Two thumbs up for this incredible slow burn. I would recommend it hands down.

I adored this book by Tara September. I liked the chemistry between the characters and how the story developed. I found this book by Tara September very entertaining and would like to explore more books by this author. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
This was a cute, quick read. It didn't blow me away, but it was fast-paced and had plenty of steam with a trope I always enjoy ("Sex lessons").
I sadly wasn’t a huge fan of this but I think it’s because I’m slowly getting into a book slump. I will be rereading this and eventually editing my review!m for when I’m able to give this book my full attention!
