Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of this book. I really enjoyed this it was a fun read. I will be going back to the beginning of the series after this one. I didn't realize it was part of a series at first.

Having read the previous books in the series, I started this book knowing what to expect, and I wasn’t disappointed. Our 3 lovely ladies are back at it with their amateur sleuthing, and it was good to see other characters from previous bobs return, in particular one who had left the previous book on a bit of a cliffhanger. It was altogether a very enjoyable read, suitable for all ages, and with a mystery that keeps the reader guessing right until the very end

Charity shop workers Fiona, Daisy and Partial Sue are once again thrown into solving a murder in Peter Boland’s “Death at the Dog Show.”

When dog show champion Sylvia Steadman and local sandwich maker Sally Wilde are both suspiciously found dead, the three feisty ladies put their head together to “unofficially” investigate the deaths and determine if there is some sort of connection between them.

What follows is a funny, zany, mad-cap adventure of three retirees trying to solve a case the police can’t seem to figure out, all while determining which facts are clues and which are misdirections.

Boland does a great job of creating characters — some that are truly delightful and some that will rile up the reader, including a few new ones that add greatly to the plot. As usual, he also builds a fun storyline filled with red herrings and creativity.

Fans of series like Richard Osman’s “The Thursday Murder Club,” Robert Thorogood’s “The Marlow Murder Club” and authors like Agatha Christie will enjoy “Death at the Dog Show,” which is due out Dec. 5.

Whilst I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as the first book in the series, I did find it very easy to read, and I felt it got better as it went along. I think the problem for me was that the solving of the initial crime seemed to be just a bit strung out. But around half way through, the pace picked up and the ladies were out and about investigating together more, and I enjoyed that part of the story much more than the start.
I've somehow missed the second book in the series, but it didn't matter too much. I think you could even read this one as a standalone, but it is nicer to know a bit more about the characters and where they're all coming from.
And for any dog lovers, don't worry - no dogs are harmed in the making of this story!

This is the first book I have read in this series and by this author although it's book 3 it could be read as a stand alone. The character's were quirky and interesting although somewhat inept which adds to the amusement. The only thing that troubled me is that one of the crimes was solved mid book which made it feel a bit rushed but then the main crime that started it all, felt like it took forever to solve so it felt like it dragged a bit, I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

"Death at the Dog Show (The Charity Shop Detective Agency #3)" by Peter Boland is my first book of the series I've read. It's a British, retiree group of volunteers that go around solving murders. I didn't quite grasp if they're officially a detective agency or they just call themselves that. I think they just call themselves that. Otherwise, this was a fairly standalone book. It had classic cozy mystery things. The only thing the bothered me is that when one of the crimes was solved mid book it felt a bit rushed but the overall, crime that started it all, felt like it took forever with clue coming out of every where while going nowhere.

If you like British cozy mysteries with sassy older ladies, this is a good one for that.

Another fantastic visit to the charity shop detectives. This time Fiona, Partial Sue and Daisy have to investigate a murder at the local dog show. Not just any murder victim but an ex crufts multi winner. But who would do such a thing and why was the crufts winner Sylvia there?
Filled with the usual mayhem the ladies encounter a few mishaps on the way including a helping hand in the form of someone they know and trust from a previous case or do they really know them?
The wicker man is branching out as well how will that turn out?
Great visit and looking forward to the next adventure with the ladies.

It's the day of the Christchurch Dog Show. The whole town is aquiver with excitement. The ladies of the Charity Shop Detective Agency are hoping to make lots of new furry friends. After a very dramatic Best Biscuit Catcher competition, Fiona, Sue, and Daisy, From the Dogs Need Nice Homes charity shop, come across a shocking scene. The dog show's vet is performing CPR on a woman. The ladies rush over, but it.'s too late. Back at the shop, the ladies are shocked to learn that the poor woman had been murdered.

I love the quirky women of the Charity Shop Detective Agency. Once again, Fiona, Sue, and Daisy find themselves stumbling over a murder case. The dos show's vet was giving a woman CPR, but unfortunately she died, The woman had been murdered. This is a well-written easy to read cosy murder mystery, and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

This is book 3 of the Charity Shop Detective Agency mysteries featuring Fiona, Sue, and Daisy. While this was my first introduction to the characters, it was easy to find them interesting and likeable. I think that I would have benefitted from reading at least the first book in the series to know the characters and references better, and I would recommend that to others as well. It is also important to note that none of the dogs were harmed throughout this book!

This is book 3 of the Charity Shop Detective agency series. It could be read as a standalone, but you wouldn't appreciate the characters as much if you don't read the other two! This is one of my favorite cozy mystery series! And is definitely perfect for fans of "The Thursday Murder Club" "Marlowe Series" "Finlay Donovan" and others! They solve cool mysteries, but the real gem of this novel lies in the main character's personalities. Hope to see more from this author!

A quirky set of friends witnesses a person die at a dog show, and they can’t imagine not trying to find the murderer. This was an amusing book. I really enjoyed the characters!

I love this series, the main three characters are so well drawn, you feel as if you know them. This one has a multi layered plot, which adds depth to the mystery and takes it beyond a normal cosy mystery. You can feel the frustration of our three heroines as the unpeel leads only to discover more mystery. Please include Adrian and Red Bull in future books as they are great additions to the main characters. Bring on the next instalment, I miss partial Sue already.
