I met Fr. Agustino at a Franciscan University of Steubenville Youth Conference. He was one of the speakers and I was the student worker who provided rides to all the speakers. His presence at the conference was impactful, so I was excited to read through this book by him.

While I read through the book outside of Lent, the meditations still provided a powerful reminder of Our Lord’s suffering for us and his desire to draw us closer to him in love.

Each day is structured around a meditation and reflection on content from Scripture, saints, and scholars. You learn while reading, but you are also challenged in your faith. The questions don’t tend toward reflection in the sense of “summarize what was in the meditation.” Rather, the reflection questions ask the reader to reflect on how the meditation impacts them specifically. Are you living your life for Christ? What about this meditation might be a call to love Christ more intimately?

A fantastic read for anyone who wishes to journey through Lent with intentionality, being pushing lovely but consistently further toward Christ and perfect love of him.

I really enjoyed this Lenten book. The reflections each day were thought provoking, yet succinct. There were certainly days which resonated more with me than others, but that is to be expected.

I fell behind a couple of times on my daily readings, but it was easy enough to jump back into it.

Overall, I enjoyed this devotional.

This was a well written thoughtful guide for Lent. The reading for each day is short but has much to think about, with a few questions for reflection. I read it as an individual, but I think it would also work well with a group.

I love this Lenten reflection. Each day is short enough to read in the morning but left me with thoughts to ponder. I also appreciate the room to journal. It's left me wanting to read more by Fr. Torres because I appreciate his writing style.

It is always beneficial for me to have a helpful book on hand for the season of Lent. While I do give alms and sacrifice, in order to fulfill the pillar of prayer I find I need a good spiritual resource.

Made for Heaven: A Guided Lenten Journal for Prayer and Meditation certainly fits the bill. Fr. Agustino Torres does a magnificent job of equipping spiritual seekers with the reflections they require for a holy, blessed Lent.

The author includes passages from Scripture, engaging meditations, insightful reflection questions, and touching prayers for each day of Lent. This daily devotional is succinct yet powerful in its meditations, making it a wonderful manual for the spiritual journey.

I would say that Made for Heaven is one of the best handbooks I have found for living out Lent in a loving, compassionate way. It deserves a place on your bookshelf!
