This story is primarily about three women who are in one way or another attached to a man named Peter Frank. The Frank family is very wealthy, and they are about to host their annual clambake (which is more like a brown tie dinner party). What they didn’t tell the guests until they got there is that this wasn’t just a clambake, it was also going to be a wedding. Peter is going to marry a socialite, Tilly, but there’s a problem - he’s already engaged, his fiancé was invited, and she, as well as the other two women, got texts asking them to meet them in Peter’s room after the wedding announcement.
So who are these women? Catherine is a party planner who dated Peter over a decade earlier. They have remained good friends though, and she is dating someone else. Maya is a pro tennis player who just won Wimbledon, and is the fiancé of Peter…until the announcement of him marrying Tilly. Finally, we have Leanne, who works at a bakery and raises her nephew, Hudson, with her husband Tony. Hudson is Peter’s son with her sister Monica, who suffered a young and untimely death. Peter isn’t cut out to be a single father, so Leanne took Hudson in after her sister died.
When the women go to Peter’s room after the announcement, Tilly is there to tell Catherine that Peter will no longer be investing in her business, to tell Leanne that they are adopting Hudson, and to tell Maya that her relationship with Peter is over. The wedding takes place, then the next morning, Tilly is dead - killed by the ostentatious chandelier she HAD to have - and Hudson is missing.
This was a great mystery - after Tilly’s little speech, all of the women have reason to want her dead. Their characters were all good, but Peter was the best - because soon, you’ll love to hate him. He’s immature, insensitive and unable to stand up to his mother, Camille. The ending comes with several shocks, none of which I saw coming. Who cut the rope to the chandelier and killed Tilly? Nobody I suspected, that’s for sure. If you like mystery, along with some thrills, this should be right up your alley! Four stars.

Thank you to @simon.audio @kieranscottauthor & @gallerybooks for the #ARC & #audiobook of #PeopleWillTalk
This was a delicious #thriller that I gobbled up.
There are four main characters:
(1) Peter – charming, heartbreaker son of the Frank Family
(2) Maya – Peter’s #tennis star girlfriend who just won #Wimbledon
(3) Catherine – Peter’s ex-high school sweetheart who is a #wedding planner & #influencer
(4) Leanne – his son’s aunt & legal guardian
This story is told in the POVs of the three FMCs. We learn more about them & what led up to the murder & what followed. It was truly difficult to decide on #whodunit because the motives were so convincing. I kept bouncing around. I didn’t correctly predict the murderer & further, the twist AFTER the reveal made my jaw drop!
This was my first #read by #KieranScott & it certainly won’t be my last! This one is available now & I dare you not to binge read it in one sitting!
“When the Frank family throws their annual #clambake at their gorgeous #beachside home on Cape May, the #seafood is always delivered to white-clothed tables on fine bone china…When Maya, Catherine & Leanne arrive expecting an extravagant feast, they’re instead lured into a room together by a mysterious text to find Peter & Tilly.
Tilly, all golden blonde hair & perfectly tan skin, explains to the three women that she & Peter plan to get married that night, that Maya & Peter are through, that Peter will no longer be investing in Catherine’s company, and that Leanne must give up guardianship of her nephew. The enraged women attend the impromptu wedding, but when a #chandelier falls & crushes the #bride, suddenly they’re three likely suspects with three perfect motives. Now they’ll have to work together to figure out who really did kill Tilly & fast—because maintaining a good reputation in this crowd can be #murder.”
I think it’s unfair to compare this to Big Little Lies; it sets the expectations high for the reader. The book is fine; it has short chapters and it moves quick. However, there is a lot happening and those short chapters don’t allow the reader to grasp enough information before the perspective and setting, and sometimes the time, changes.
I received an advanced copy. All thoughts are my own.
Thanks to #NetGalley and #GalleryBooks for the book #PeopleWillTalk by #KieranScott. Three people are invited to an annual dinner for the announcement of a wedding of Tilly and Peter. During this time, they are told Peter is breaking up with Maya, not investing with Catherine anymore and to his aunt, he wants custody of his son back. During the wedding a chandelier kills the bride. Who did this?
Kieran Scott's PEOPLE WILL TALK is a grand romp through the walthy summer community on Cape May. I knew I wanted to read it as soon as I saw the X meets Y comparison: Glass Onion meets Big Little Lies. And that, dear readers, is exactly what you get. Five enthusiastic stars!
Peter is a scoundrel and likes his women.
Maya is a tennis star, Catherine has a long history with Peter, and Tilly is the girl he marries. Sounds like the decision has been made, but Tilly turns up murdered and now we have to figure out whodunnit.
This is a multi-POV book that covers the murder and everything leading up to the party. You’re always learning something new as you progress which leads to different ideas. However, I do think that there could have been more.
I enjoyed this one as a light summer read. 3 women had beef with Peter, a rich prick who has invited them all to a meeting where Tilly tells them all off in a nasty way and then informs them all that she is about to marry Peter. That night. The next morning, Tilly is found dead, crushed by the huge chandelier from their wedding. Since Tilly was such a bitch and everyone around her hated her, there are a lot of suspects for her murder. With so many unlikeable characters, it's hard to root for anyone. However, you do want to know whodunnit, so the book definitely keeps you reading.
I hated every single character in this book. Except maybe Leanne. Peter was trash. Catherine was trash. Maya is a piece of work. A quick intense read, leaving some questionable feelings in the end

Kieran Scott is a favorite of mine and I was so excited to read her latest, People Will Talk. I really enjoyed this popcorn thriller, which had me hooked from the very beginning. Told from the perspectives of Catherine, Maya, and Leanne, who all become likely suspects in the murder of Tilly, the bride at an impromptu wedding. It was a murder mystery but also light and fun at the same time, making it the perfect summer read. I thought I had this one all figured out but some unexpected twists and turns proved me wrong. This was a quick and fun read!

4 out of 5 Stars!
3 women are suspects in a murder. Maya, Catherine, and Leanna all received an invitation to the annual clambake at a beachside home on Cape May, hosted by the Frank family. But, it is more than just a clambake. It is a wedding. The wedding of Peter Frank and Tilly Dansforth. But how can that be? Peter isn’t engaged to Tilly, he was just dating Maya the day before.
When all 3 women are lured into a room with a mysterious text, they are surprised to find Peter and Tilly waiting for them. And for the announcement they have. Maya will no longer be dating Peter, Peter will stop investing in Catherine’s company immediately, and Leanna will have to give up full custody of her nephew as Peter wants to be in his life. Lastly, Peter and Tilly will be getting married that evening. With tensions high, Peter and Tilly end up getting married. But later that evening, the bride is crushed by a chandelier. Was it an accident? Or was it murder? There are 3 suspects that have a lot of motives.
“People Will Talk” by Kieran Scott was the first book I have read by this author! And I can’t wait to read more, especially because of how good “People Will Talk” was! This was a fast-paced thriller with lots of depth and interesting characters. The beginning of the book hooks you, with the announcement and murder taking place right away. It forces you to keep reading to uncover who the murderer really is. I really kept guessing until the very end. I just could not figure it out until the last moment.
I really enjoyed the premise of this novel. I thought it was very refreshing and thrilling. There are 3 perspectives in this novel which really propelled the book forward. The entire time you are asking who committed this murder! I really enjoyed the characters and figuring out the connection between all of them. They do have their quirks, but that is what makes the story just that more interesting.
I will say, I thought the last part of the book was a push. I can’t say I liked the ending as much as I liked the buildup. I was expecting a shocking twist that tied everything together. It also just felt kinda rushed.
Overall, I am rating this book 4.5 stars rounded down to 4. “People Will Talk” by Kieran Scott will be released on July 30th, 2024!
Thank you to Gallery Press, Kieran Scott, and Netgalley for a digital ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

I really became a Keiran Scott fans when I read her previous novel, REGRETS ONLY and LOVED the drama!
I was psyched when I saw she had a new release and it quickly became one of my most anticipated!
While I will say it has a lot of similar drama feel as REGRETS ONLY, it did fall a little short for me unfortunately. I wanted a little more character development and/or plot. It seemed to get repetitive and I wish we had more background as to why some of the tensions/drama existed between some of the characters.
I definitely don't think it was a bad book, just not as thrilling as I was hoping for!
I'll still read what she puts out next!
Have you ever been invited to a clambake in the New England area only to walk into the surprise wedding of your ex-boyfriend/current boyfriend? Well, that's what happens to Catherine and Maya as the scene opens in this murder mystery. Now, I'm not sure I would have wanted to stick around to even entertain this poop-show, but for some reason these women do and that's how they find themselves to be the ones more or less under the scrutiny of police investigation when the bride is killed. Along with Leanne, the legal guardian of the son of Peter, the groom. The reader is presented with a cast of characters which we aren't sure who we want to be the bad guy.
As each chapter and scene plays out, we get a little more information, some of it good and some of it not so good. This book is a wild ride of ups and downs, lefts and rights, in some really great ways. There are funny moments and tense moments, with everyone trying to maintain their reputation. One is a b-list celebrity event planner, one is a Wimbledon winner, and one is a local who's bake shop would suffer should she be accused of such a heinous crime. No one is really worried about the dead bride, she was kind of a witch anyways, but they have to figure out who did it so they can clear their own names.
A clambake turned wedding turned murder...count me in. Three women who are tied to Peter are all invited to the clambake and is summoned to meet and learns that Peter is about to be married to Tilly. There's demands made and all 3 women are upset by the announcement. The story is told in these 3 women's POV and the aftermath of the murder. You don't know who the killer is and the story keeps you guessing with a bunch of suspicious things thrown at you. I can't say that any of the characters were likable, each had their own agenda. Overall an entertaining mystery.
Thank you @gallerybooks @netgalley for a copy of this book.
An entertaining murder mystery. This book follows 3 women each with a connection to Peter Franks after his new wife is murdered on their wedding night. A classic whodunnit with characters you love to hate.. I loved the short chapters and following these POVs throughout.
Thank you to NetGalley and Gallery Books for a copy of this book!
The Frank Family Annual Clambake takes a turn this year when it transforms into a surprise wedding, and takes an even darker turn when the bride is murdered on her wedding night.
You're introduced to three women who all have ties to the groom and have motive for commiting the murder. We get their fast paced POVs through the story as we try to solve this without the police... While none of the characters are exactly likable and the timeline is a little confusing, this is a good ol "what can the rich really get away with" kind of murder mystery. I didn't quite get the "Glass Onion/Big Litle Lies" vibes unfortunately - I had a hard time rooting for anyone in this story, the big reveal was a little disappointing, and the "epilogues" really solidified how bad some of these characters were!
I liked Kieran Scott's writing style and would still like to see what they write next!

People Will Talk is definitely a rich person’s murder mystery. Gave me some Agatha Christie vibes in how easy it seemed for the rich to avoid any police interference.
Peter invites his current girlfriend, his ex-college girlfriend, and his son’s guardian to his surprise wedding…where the bride is later murdered. Honestly, Peter was a TERRIBLE human being; I kept hoping for another murder (wink wink I’m not a murderer unless it’s fiction). I enjoyed getting the multiple POV from the three women, and never knowing who is reliable or who is lying.
People Will Talk was a quick read, with the story unfolding at a nice pace. Despite it being about a murder, it was actually pretty funny and entertaining. I’ll be sure to look for more from Kieran Scott in the future.
When the rich and famous are embroiled in a murder mystery, everyone is a suspect. When the very unlikeable Peter invites his unsuspecting friends, family, former lovers, and girlfriend to his surprise wedding to an heiress, emotions are high. There are ultimatums, drunken fights, and a murder to solve. Our three female protagonists find their lives immediately turned upside down.
This was a fun, well written story with a fun, albeit complicated twist. It was a bit difficult to manage the three competing points of view from each of the three FMCs, but everything tied together by the end. Unfortunately I could not get over the awful, spoiled, MMC and how each of the FMCs allowed him to be a terrible human while they essentially fought over him or continued to lean on him as “a good guy”. These FMCs deserved a little more self-respect.
Thank you to NetGalley and Gallery Books for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was an okay mystery. At first I liked having the 3 women’s perspectives, but at times it felt a bit too much and that the final reveals were a bit rushed and too far fetched.
People Will Talk is a salacious thriller that will keep you guessing until the very end!
When Peter Frank unexpectedly gets married at his family's annual clam bake, his tennis star girlfriend Maya, his high school sweetheart Catherine, and the sister of his child's deceased mother Leanne are all shocked. The morning after the impromptu wedding, his new wife Tilly is found dead, crushed under a custom chandelier she commissioned for the celebration. All three women have a motive for Tilly's death, but who is actually responsible for Tilly's untimely end?
This book has short, snappy chapters that keep the plot moving along, and so many secrets hidden between all three POVs. Fans of soapy thrillers with rich people behaving badly will love this one!
