The sequel to One Day With You, but reads perfectly as a standalone.

Again it’s a story told over 24 hours. We’re back with Tress and Noah, Nancy and Val one year to the day since the accident that changed their lives forever and the day they’re celebrating Tress’ son’s first birthday.

We also met Noah’s sister Keli, ghosted by her boyfriend and worrying about her future and Odette Devine a mainstay of a Scottish TV soap opera on the verge of a forced retirement.

There’s a sad side to everyone’s story, but was a much lighter book than the first. I enjoyed again the humour between Nancy and Val and there’s a similar vibe with Keli and her friend which was good fun. I enjoyed piecing together the various relationships and was cheering the good guys on!

A really a lovely book and I’m already searching Shari Low’s back catalogue and excited to read more of her work in the future.

Following on from One Day With You (it can be read as a standalone) we are back with Tress and Noah a year after their lives were shattered. We also get to meet Odette a matriarch of a popular show who has just been booted to appeal to a younger audience.

Some authors write great plots, others create amazing characters that feel as real as friends/family. Shari is one of the rare few that manages both seemingly with ease. I love, as an older reader, that she includes older characters with rich lives and stories to tell. Women with years of experience and in this case a few skeletons in the closet.

Odette had my heart and as her fortunes fail and past misdemeanours seem to be bringing karma to her dressing room door, I couldn’t help but want her to succeed even though others are willing to step over her on their way to the top.

Tress is now a set designer on Odette’s show while juggling being a single mum to Buddy with the help of Noah and the wonderful return of my favourites Val and Nancy. With a little help from Shania Twain they have their own mission.

The interwoven storylines and characters and the introduction of new ones that bring them all together I have learnt is Shari’s trademark style. Along with heart, tearful moments and glorious humour. She also writes a terrific love to hate baddy.

As you’ve probably guessed I adored this book and I will leave you with my favourite passage from the very wise Gilda to her daughter.

Another Fabulous book by the wonderful Shari, I really enjoyed it, on this occasion I went with the Audible and the narration was wonderful, the accents great.
One Year After You is an a brilliant follow up, it was wonderful to catch up with familiar characters and new ones alike.
I especially love that there is character called Fiona and a character with the surname Jenkins.
We follow retiring actress Odette, her co star, and Tress and Noah whom we definitely know from the tragedy they lived through last year. Their bond is tighter, little Buddy is a happy baby, we also follow Noah’s sister Keli’s journey. There are twists and turns, giggles, and oh my word moments, revenge, new beginnings and the closing of doors. I listened to it in less than a day as it was so moreish. I’d say this is in my Shari top 3 reads. One Last Day of Summer and One Day with You being the full top 3.

It's the anniversary of the day Tress' husband died and their son was born, but somehow she's survived even though the tragedy deepened by his betrayal of an affair with her best friend. Noah's wife survived, but their marriage didn't, and he lost his best friend in that accident, too. Keli, Noah's sister, has secrets and worries on this day, too, and Odette is facing the end of a career that has become her life. All four stories are separate yet connected; as this momentous day plays out, the depth of their connection reveals itself. Immersed in this story from the beginning, the complexity of the characters and their stories is addictive reading. I like the characters, the emotion and the mix of heartbreak and heartwarming.

Such a clever way to tell a multilayered story, spread over 24hours and told by different characters, it completely drew me into the emotional story.
I have to own up that I had not read the previous book to this series ( I failed to notice this when I obtained the book - doh!) However that did not cause me any issues with reading and enjoying this book as I soon caught up with all the happenings from the previous linked story and was completely emotionally invested in all of the characters ( yes even the one that wasn’t particularly nice!) Needless to say I will be reading the other book now!
So much drama was weaved during the 24 hours that we followed the main characters, with plenty of flashbacks to previous situations for all of the characters, giving me a fascinating and sometimes heartbreaking insight into their pasts.
The more that I read, the more deeply I was drawn into the characters, wondering what the outcome of the story would be for them and what secrets would be revealed. It was so difficult to put this book down and I avidly read on, late into the night, a sure sign of an excellent and exciting book!
So many surprises and reveals made this a brilliant read for me and has ensured that this author is very high on my must read list of authors. I really appreciate Shari’s beautiful descriptive writing and strong, interesting characters.

Can this author do any wrong?….well for me and many other fans its a resounding ‘No!’, I love this authors books,her imaginitive immersive writing style and how from the first page you are drawn into the characters lives,stories and highs and lows
Set again within a 24 hour time line ( the author does this brilliantly ) we meet a wide ranging set of folk from an ageing soap star,Odette,with her 40 year reign in a soap opera now ending….Noah and his friend Tress,who because of dramatic and double barrelled life changing events exactly a year ago find their lives forever intertwined, a cocksure romeo heartthrob actor,Rex,who I liked but wasn’t sure whether to trust or not….and the wonderful Val and Nancy,best friends and interferers with the ‘best of intentions’
As the 24 hours elapses and the stories become more and more interwoven secrets come to light and old regrets resurface in this truly magical story
This author I trust,when I start their book I settle down to a great story with welcoming writing and solid storyline and once again I was not disappointed,a truly enchanting read

A sequel to One Day With You which was one of my top books from 2023. With some familiar characters whose stories carried on and a range of brilliant and interesting new characters this book was great from the start.
The detailed, intertwined storylines are part of the magic of this author.
Whilst this book can be read as a standalone, for me, I am glad I read the first book to set the scene.
There is always something very comforting about the way Shari Low writes. It feels like a friend is telling you are a story and you are involved.
Absolutely loved this and cannot wait to read her next book.

This one had me really invested and I was sad when it ended. Several characters, different storylines, yet it flowed together seamlessly in my opinion. Emotions ran the gamut and I felt them all. I really enjoyed reading this story.

The book's ability to draw readers in and establish a connection with the characters is remarkable. I was completely immersed in their stories. The plot twist was unexpected and completely different from what I had predicted. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend it

'One Day With You' was one of my favourite books by Shari Low, so I loved being able to catch up with Noah, Tress, and all of the other characters. You can absolutely read this as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the aforementioned book as it definitely adds to the background of several important characters. As well as the familiar faces, we were introduced to Odette, a soap matriarch who gave off 'Nolly' vibes but was weighed down with a shocking secret, an ambitious actor from the same daytime soap, and get to know Keli, Noah's sister, much more. I absolutely ADORED Noah in ODWY, and I loved him just as much in this book. He seriously deserved the world, and I was cheering after he came to a certain realisation (no spoilers). I also loved Gilda. She was so supportive of Keli, and it was clear where Noah and Keli got their caring nature, but she was also so wonderfully hilarious. I enjoyed Keli and Yvie's friendship, and how Keli dealt with Ryan after the events at the Oyster Bar was chef's kiss. Tress was as sweet and kind as I remembered, and I really loved the journey she went on over the course of the day. Nancy and Val were as hilarious and wonderful as always. Odette was such an interesting character, and I particularly loved her friendships with Calvin and Tress. I found her storyline and the moral of being careful what you wished for both incredibly moving.
Once again, Shari Low has beautifully interwoven several stories full of everyday life in Glasgow with love, found family, and revelations. I loved that we got to follow Tress and Noah's lives a year after their day ended in tragedy and see them finally find their own HEA's. I was SO happy about the ending in this book. The final chapter and epilogue were both perfect.
Another masterclass in storytelling.

Reading One Year After You by Shari Low was like visiting old friends. This sequel to One Day With You again takes place over the course of one day. How fun to catch up with Tress and Noah one year after the pivotal events that changed their lives. New characters are also introduced with their own stories to tell. I love the way the individual stories intersect and how the various characters are so supportive of each other. Thanks to NetGalley, Boldwood Books and the author for the opportunity to read and review an advance copy.

I was so excited to see we were getting a follow up story for these characters. They went through so much in One Day With You that I needed them to get their HEA.

The storytelling can get a little complicated at times with so many characters but there’s a conversation vibe happening with everyone needing to have their say. Like a bunch of friends talking at once during a dinner party.

I really enjoyed it and definitely recommend, especially if you’ve read One Day With You.

My first review of 2024, and I’ve started the year on a high! I loved this book, which was written from multiple points of view. We have Odette - a soap star nearing the end of her career, Keli - a nurse on an elderly care ward, Noah - a paediatric doctor, and Tress - a set designer on the soap that Odette stars in. They all live in Glasgow and are all linked in one way or another.

One Year After You is set over 24 hours and boy, a lot happens in those 24 hours. We have birthdays, scandals, break-ups and hook-ups. There are a few tear-jerking moments and a lot of comedy - mainly from Nancy and Val, two of the most delightful characters I’ve read about in a long time. They deserve their own story and if there was one, then I’m sure I’d be laughing out loud!

If you want a good old rom-com to start your year and block out the miserable January weather, then I’d recommend getting yourself a copy of One Year After You by Shari Low. She is fast becoming one of my must-buy authors.

Every time I have a Shari Low novel on my list I just know I'm in for a treat!

While Noah now has a girlfriend, Tress just can't imagine moving on - her son is the only man in her life these days. Noah's sister Keli, has recently been ghosted by the new man in her life - and just as she was beginning to get used to the idea of being in a relationship. A phone call from a stranger alerts her to what's been going on and now she needs to decide whether to put it down to experience or extract revenge. Local actress Odette Devine is coming to the end of her forty-year stint as the star of The Clydesiders, a popular tv drama whose new producers have decided to kill her off. She is haunted by a lie she told at the start of her career and can't help feeling this is payback. . . . .

Ah, there is something like coming home when I begin a new novel by this author; her sense of humour is right up my street. Whenever Val appeared in this one, I knew there would be laughs. I don't know of anyone else who can write about such sad times and also introduce fun and laughter into the occasions. This is just perfection! If you haven't read One Day With You yet, your experience of this would be enhanced by fitting it in first. A superbly crafted novel, tightly woven, which will make you cry - and a moment later have you in fits of laughter! I really can't recommend this highly enough - five bright glowing stars!

What a treat to return to the story of Tress and Noah (and Buddy) to see how they are doing one year after One Day With You. I decided to read the previous book on an impulse last year and it was so good! Since then I have picked up a couple of other Shari Low books. She has a way of introducing storylines that intersect in ways that are often surprising. My brain loves making connections so her books really suit the way I am wired. What was especially fun about this second book was the soap opera star, set, and all that goes with it. If you love relationship fiction and have not tried a Shari Low book yet, what are you waiting for? This title is released tomorrow. You can read the two books back to back over the weekend with some hot chocolate and those leftover Christmas cookies you have been hiding in the freezer.

So much going on here! The cleverness is how all of the things going on take place in one day. It's third person multiple POV, with four key storylines that interlink and unfold. There's no steam, but lots of emotion and characters that I really cared about. I was barracking for Tress and Noah 💖

It reminded me of Kate Atkinson and her messy, overlapping plots - if you love those, you'll love this! The tight timeframe keeps it all moving and helps keep track of everyone. There's that budding romance (of course) but so much more as well - grief, misunderstanding, miscommunication, comeuppance, slow burn, doublecrossing, a cheating villain, friendship, solidarity and girl power, comedy and honesty.

This would work best if you've read Shari's previous book, 'One Day with You', but there’s enough flesh behind all the characters for it to work well as a standalone. What a great read!

A FANTASTIC sequel to One Day with You. It was great to be back with Tress and Noah one year on from a fateful day for them both. Such a rollercoaster and emotional read full of happiness, sadness, friendships and romance. An utter page turner with storytelling at its best.

This book picks up 12 months after we last met Tress and Noah and this time we are introduced to Noah’s sister Keli and Tess’ colleague Odette. How have Tress and Noah managed since that fateful day, what secret has Odette been keeping for almost 40 years and why has Keli not heard from her mystery man? 24 hours can unravel a lot of secrets.

I loved the first book which I read last year so I was super excited to get approved by @netgalley for the follow up. This could easily be read as a stand alone but I would recommend reading them in order as I was so invested in Tress and Noah I really enjoyed revisiting them. Great book which I flew through.

One Year After You written by Shari Low was such a heart breaking book. I read one another book before this one written by this author and absolutely loved it so much, so when I saw she had this book coming out, I knew I had to get my hands on it asap. I loved the story line for this book, but there was a minor issue I had, there were too many characters to keep track of I had to keep flipping back pages to find out who was who and certain stories were too far apart when I was waiting for something good to happen to certain characters. I will say I loved some of the side characters, they were such sweethearts and it was so hard not to like them, so of course I had to cheer them on as well. One Year After You could often be a bit dramatic with certain characters, but their triumph and struggles were so real, the humor was very humorous. I was looking for a book that would make me sob, although this one didn't nearly make me sob, I found myself wiping away tears every now and then. If you haven't done so already, go read a book written by Shari Low and pick up this one while you are at it. I can't recommend this book enough, if you love a humorous story about friendship and strangers coming together, you will definitely love One Year After You.
