This is a wonderful, unique, emotional, and scary story that I really had to sit and absorb once finished with the book.
It will be a hit, no doubt!
I was reminded of Y2K and living through those emotions really connected me to the characters of Marlen and Hida as they navigate two crisis situations that are fatal!
The end of this novel actually brought me to tears as I could feel the tightening in my chest as if I was with them when they opened the curtains to see the sky on Christmas.
Wow!
Thank you to @NetGalley and @Lake Union Publishing for this ARC and allowing me to read and provide my own review.

'I Think We've been here before is an incredibly interesting story with a unique premise. This set of characters quickly drew me in and I loved following along with their story, however it is quite sad in moments, this felt like such a heart-warming and cosy book. Overall an incredibly beautiful book, with amazing writing. I think a lot of people will fall in love with this book.

This book was a little out of my comfort zone, but in a good way. It took a little adjusting to the alternating narrators, but once you get the hang of the quick changes, it was a fun read. We will purchase for the collection and already have some patrons in mind who will enjoy it.

Thanks to NetGalley for sending me the ARC for this book!

Going into this book, I assumed it would be from the main characters point of view, but the story was actually told from all characters involved. Normally multiple points of views can be overwhelming, but once I got over the shock of suddenly switching from Hilda's perspective to Marlens in the same paragraph, it was easy to follow!

The first 'odd' thing you pick up on is of course, Nora's cat. Then you starting noticing the parallels/coincidences/deja vu more often - like Hildas necklace going missing, but simply because Nora hadn't gifted it to her yet.

The idea that time isn't linear unless its in your memories was really interesting, and I loved that the book didn't focus on the world going into disrepair (aka riots, blackouts ect). It was focused on family and love, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I received a free e-arc of this book through Netgalley. It has quite an interesting premise that it's the end of the world. Marlen has recently been diagnosed with cancer and has been coming to terms with the end of his life, but now he has to come to terms that everyone will die. His other family members all deal with the upcoming end of the world as best as they can as well. There are some quirks in the book that make you think things aren't as straightforward as they seem. It definitely makes you think.

This one was totally outside of what I’d normally look at, but it just sounded so intriguing. This is such a feel good but also gut punch, make you cry kind of book. I think readers will relate to at least one character, if not more. The writing was very well done, and the situation very familiar.
I’m so glad I read it.

thank you to netgalley and Lake Union publishing for the advanced copy.

I think we've been here before is a tale of loss and the world ending but despite the subject matter this is a cosy hug of a read.
You get to see the story from different members of the same family and follow them along their journey of the world coming to an end.

it was not my usual genre but I really enjoyed this and it was a beautiful reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of those around us

Wow. I just finished this and I’m sat here sobbing. I picked up an ARC of this book, thinking the plot sounded quite interesting. I was totally unprepared for how raw this story is, how human the characters and how relatable every sentence was. Just absolutely blew me away. I can’t wait for this to come out, so I can recommend this to everyone. The plot was brilliant and unusual, but the book is, at its heart, a very human story and I found myself absolutely gut punched again and again. The ending was absolutely beautiful and it’s going to stay with me a while. Really gorgeous writing, really well rounded characters who were completely different from each other and such a beautiful concept. Really well done!

Thanks so much to NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing for the ARC

In this book, we watch as a family receives bad news in two forms. One is that a loved one has a cancer diagnosis. The second... The world is ending. There is a sense of doom but also a sense of warmth and togetherness as we watch the characters come to terms with the end. They work through relationships, and regrets and realize what matters.

I loved this book. It made me laugh and moved me to tears. Brilliantly done!

I absolutely fell in love with this book and the characters just a couple of chapters in.
I Think We’ve Been Here Before has very seeking a friend for the end of the world vibes, and that is a good thing.
This book is about the end of the world and the different ways people react to life ending.
Suzy Krause created a cluster of extremely lovable complex characters, and beautiful imagery throughout this strange, sad, hopeful, precious story.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ so good. I will be recommending it to others!

Thank you NetGalley for the arc

Marlen and Hilda's family has received two devastating pieces of news - Marlen has a terminal illness and soon a cosmic blast will soon end the world.

This book is all about the characters and how they navigate both pieces of news and the world around them. I thought this book was perfection as people try to make the most of their time with the world and the people in it. This book was magical.

If this doesn’t speak romcom perfection I don’t know what does!… I was so delighted with the warm fuzzy feeling this book left me with

I Think We've Been Here Before by S. Krause, published by Lake Union Publishing, is a full length, stand alone novel.
Marlen and Hida Jorgensen. Both have two tragedies to shoulder.
Marlen is terminal ill and secondly, the end is near. Think of don't look up movie.
Both navigate the remaining time, not always graceful, but as good as it gets.
And the karma decides to throw a few wrenches their way.
Hilda's father's past shows up. Her nephew goes missing and her daughter is on her way back from Berlin with soe difficulties on her own.
So they have their hands full.
An intriguing read that had me in suspense from start till the last page.
I loved the story and the characters, 4,5 Stars.
