I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.
Fae of the Seasons, court intrigue and betrayal, secrets, back-stabbing, and love where it was least expected. Quite the adventure, strong plot and interesting characters - with a little simmer and a bit of a cliff. Fun romantasy read!
This book was probably my least favorite in the series so far. It was fine and the romantic pairing was sweet. But it didn't engage me the way the previous two books did. I give this book a solid 3/5 stars. The Ruthless Fae King is still worth reading to push the plot forward, but it won't be a reread for me.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bloom Books for the opportunity to review The Ruthless Fae King by Leia Stone. All opinions are my own.
This gives major ACOTAR vibes. Madelynn and Lucien have amazing chemistry, the Marcellle storyline was gripping, and I actually can't stand that King.
Each book in this series gets better than the last. I will say though that this one followed a slightly different formula though. The war is at the forefront of everyone's minds throughout the book, and ends up being a motivating factor for a lot of events.
I am surprised that this book is considered YA when there are definitely some more mature themes. Make sure to check the trigger warnings before reading this book. I was surprised by the dark turn that occurred, but I think that it happened so as to prove Lucien's love for Madelynn. It also allowed for a true "touch her and I will kill you scene."
Madelynn was a great character who was strong and powerful. She did not let anyone get in the way of what she wanted, and when put into bad situations, she planned her way to get out.
Lucien was not what I was expecting. I was expecting him to be cold throughout the majority of the book because that is how the previous two books to set him up to be. Instead we learn he was simply misunderstood and simply put up a front in order to maintain power and control. His backstory is heartbreaking, but Madelynn helps him heal and move forward and look forward to a better future.
Overall I really enjoyed this book. I am glad we got to see all of the women together and can't wait to see what fun antics they get up to in the last book.

I flew through The Ruthless Fae King with such speed. It was so good I loved it. It is hands down my fave of the series thus far. It was fast paced. It was action and adventure packed. There was never a dull moment in this book. There was betrayal amd so much more. I loved the world and
that we got to experience more of it. The magic system was awesome too. It kept my attention throughout and I cannot wait to get my hands on the final book to see how it all ends. I highly recommend it.
I read this book as a standalone as I have mot read the others. I was a bit disappointed to find the Fae king to not truly be ruthless, but also glad to find it to not be a dark romance. The story was a bit fast-paced for my taste, however, some find that appealing, especially when they find it hard to get through endless world-building. I ended up being somewhat fond of Lucien, he felt pretty relatable. I also found the mention of things like moonshine pretty confusing as interpreted this as more of a ye olde fantasy.
Overall I found this to be a nice, quick, read.

I really like this world Leia Stone has created. The books are on the shorter side, which is nice and an easy read. I have really loved all the characters she's created. All her books are created as a standalone in the same world, and they all interconnected.
This book has Lucien Thorne (The Winter King) and Madelynn Windstrong (The Fall Princess) and it follows their story. It's kind of an enemy to lovers/Marriage of convenience with some twists and turns throughout. My favorite character in this book, hands down, is her hand maiden, Libby. She makes me laugh and I connected with her.
Overall, a good read and can't wait for the final book!
The Ruthless Fae King by Leia Stone is the third in the Kings of Avalier series and I am really wishing I started at book one! This book can be read as a standalone, but I really enjoyed the writing style and storyline
Such a wonderful slow-burn romance between Lucien and Madelynn! He is dark and complex but an utter cinnamon roll MMC when confronted by Madelynn. I really do need to read the other two books in order to further enjoy the writing as I am intrigued to experience the worldbuilding and the foundations of this fantastic book
Thank you to Netgalley, Sourcebooks, Bloom Books and the author Leia Stone for this brilliant ARC. My review is left voluntarily and all opinins are my own
