There is so much to say about this book. It’s attention grabbing , suspenseful and intriguing all at the same time.
The title of this book is definitely more than what it claims to be, don’t let the cover fool you. Also there is so many twists towards the end of the book that I almost didn’t believe what I was reading.
I did not see the ending coming that’s for sure. Also it’s always the person you least expect.
Such a well written book that I never wanted to put it down.

Trust no one in this book! *SPOILERS*

I’m so torn on this one. It was entertaining enough for me to want to read it in one sitting, but there were too many twists and turns to keep up with. I had to stop myself from questioning how realistic half the book was and it was distracting from the story. I instantly knew something was up with every character during the required training she had to do. I mean, big red flags with how pushy Liam was being with their new relationship. She was just accused of kidnapping but trust this total stranger she met 2-3 days before? Weird!

With the big surprise ending, I’m surprised the main character didn’t keep up with those that have wronged her in the past. It seems like she would have noticed all of them right away (even if Lara did all of that work). It seemed like a poor way to get story to work out.

Overall though, I really did enjoy this one. I would recommend it to others but would probably mention it’s not high on my list.

The Perfect Nanny has such a good storyline, but I feel like there was A LOT going on. It all ties together well, and so really enjoyed reading. I was not prepared for the crazy twists, and craziness or the end.

Thank you Bookouture and Netgalley for a ARC!

5 JAW DROPPING STARS. This is the one people.. this is the book that I will be talking about for a long time!!!

This is one of those books that will pull you in from the first page and have you up until 2 AM reading to get to the bottom of the story.

We follow Haley, who is looking for a summer job nannying a family to watch two twin girls but when the parents come home that evening, they claim their baby is missing. Immediately we are taking through a whirlwind story trying to figure out what is actually going on, who is trustworthy and who did this?

There is great character development and the writing flows beautifully. This will be a 2023 favorite for me!

Oh and the twists... they are JAWDROPPING. I am shook.

JUST READ IT!!!!

This book took psychological suspense to a whole new level. This book was intense! About three quarters of the way through the book, I felt like I was in the midst of a corn maze and everywhere I turned there was a new absurd and crazy aspect to the story. I just wanted to get out of the maze and be done with the book. I'm sure lots of people would enjoy this book but it was just too much for me.

Thanks so much to that netgalley and the publisher for the ARC. The opinions are my own

4.5 Stars rounded up!
One word for this- YES!!!!!!!! This was definitely an unputdownable, suspenseful thriller! I read this in one sitting and was hooked the entire time. . Every single person in this book was suspicious to me- from Haley all the way to the young twins. There are absolutely twists and turns throughout that I did not see coming at all.
There are so many layers to this book and so much gets revealed along the way. At one point I started thinking, what else could possibly happen here- and then BAM! The excellent writing takes the reader along the winding road without it feeling too long or really far-fetched.
About 3/4 of the way through, the timeline got a little confusing to me as we went from the past (several years) to the present to the past (a few weeks or days) to the present. Again, the writing was so well executed that I wasn't bothered by the slight confusion.
This book comes out on Feb 9th 2024!! Grab a copy and cancel your plans for the day!! Highly recommend!!
Thank you so much NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC!!!

Truly enjoyed this book! From the first chapter I was caught up in the book. Will definitely read more from this author.

This was a fun one. I was interested to see how this would unfold and it definitely had a couple twists I wasn’t expecting. Haley is hired to babysit twin girls but when the parents return they accuse her of kidnapping their baby girl Fallon. Problem is, they never mentioned Fallon to Haley at all. I wasn’t sure how this was going to play out, but Haley finds herself caught up in trying to solve Fallon’s disappearance, while proving her innocence. Full of manipulation and questions, the plot took quite the turn and I had to really think on what was accurate and what was mind games. I enjoyed the ending as well. Definitely leaves the option of a second book.

This book had me grabbed my attention so quickly. It is fast-paced and one of those books in which every chapter ends with a bang and you just need to read the next chapter, making it very hard to put down and keeping me up quite late!

The story line is fantastic, I had no idea where the book was going and it kept taking turns which left me questioning more and more. I ran so many scenarios through my head and was still shocked by the end. I did not expect the ending at all.

This is a fantastic psychological thriller and my first book by Shari J. Ryan, needless to say it won't be the last.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for letting me read a copy before the publishing date!

If you like to be kept on the edge of your seat throughout an entire book, definitely pick this one up on 9 February 2024!!

Writing this review is difficult. I wanted to love this book after reading another review and the summary. But it fell a bit flat for me. Several twists were easy to determine, the final big one was fairly expected. It was longer than it needed to be and at time jarry. The story could have been better. Overall, an easy read that was entertaining....but that is it.

This was a fast-paced psychological thriller that hooked me from the beginning. I loved the writing style and the development of the characters. There were so many twists that I didn’t see coming. I am unsure how I feel about the ending; felt a bit too unrealistic for me but it was still a good book that kept me interested.

This book started off in the right way, with a fast-pace and such an exciting setting. The characters are very well developed and have very distinctive personalities. I have read this book in hours because it was such an awesome read and I couldn’t put it down.

The twists in this book just kept coming and coming and I was left on edge page after page and I got to say, when the truth was revealed, I was nowhere close to saw it coming. It was such a surprise! The setting of the book was incredible, the suspense and intrigue were constantly there, and you are not able to understand how it’ll end until it’s all revealed to you.

I highly recommend it to everyone that like me enjoys psychological thrillers that will keep you on edge anxious to know what will come next and question everything. I cannot wait for this author next book!

Thank you, NetGalley & the publisher, for approving me to read this arc and write this review.

I finished this book pretty quickly. The plot draws you in, but I found that it was a lot of stuff going on and a little unbelievable/plot holes throughout. I did enjoy it overall though.

I absolutely adored "The Perfect Nanny." This gripping thriller had me enthralled from start to finish. The way the author skillfully unraveled the layers of suspense and psychological tension in this story was truly masterful.

The premise of a seemingly ideal nanny who harbors dark secrets was both intriguing and chilling. As the narrative unfolded, I was completely absorbed in the lives of the characters and the secrets they held. The pacing of the story was perfect, keeping me eagerly turning the pages to uncover the truth.

The characters in "The Perfect Nanny" were exceptionally well-developed, and their complexities added depth to the story. The tension between the nanny and the family she worked for was palpable, and I found myself constantly questioning their motives and loyalties.

The novel delivered on its promise of unexpected twists and turns. It kept me guessing until the very end, and the final reveal left me in shock. The psychological depth of the narrative and the exploration of the characters' hidden desires and fears made for a truly compelling read.

If you're a fan of psychological thrillers that keep you on the edge of your seat and make you question everything, "The Perfect Nanny" is a must-read. It's a rollercoaster of suspense and intrigue that will leave you thinking long after you've turned the last page. 5 stars from me!

The Perfect Nanny" opens with a promising premise, drawing readers into a gripping narrative that quickly escalates into a maze of suspense and uncertainty. The novel introduces Haley, a college student seeking a summer job as a nanny, setting the stage for what initially appears to be a routine caregiving arrangement for twin girls.

However, the tale takes an unexpected turn when Haley's first night on the job reveals unsettling discrepancies in the family dynamic. The sudden realization of a missing third child, unbeknownst to both Haley catapults the storyline into a web of intrigue and suspicion.
As Haley grapples with unraveling the mystery surrounding the missing baby, the novel's tension intensifies, leaving readers torn between conflicting loyalties and uncertain whom to trust.

Amidst the gripping suspense, the novel interlaces Haley's personal journey, introducing a romantic subplot that intertwines with the larger mystery. The complexities of Haley's character, balance her quest for truth with the newfound possibility of love.

Haley takes a babysitting job for two nine year old girls, her first night seems to be going well, until the parents return and ask where their baby is. Haley, accused of kidnapping their baby, gets escorted to the police station, what secrets is everybody hiding, and where is the baby?

I read this book quickly, the short chapters, cliffhangers and the way the book jumps right into the storyline had me hooked from the first page. The secrets and the twists, especially in the ending of this book had be surprised, I did not expect them at all. I really enjoyed most of the characters in the book, Haley especially, they were written well and had depth to them. Slightly unrealistic ending to the book but it didn't impact my enjoyment of reading it and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a easy to read thriller.

Thank you netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. Due out Feb 9th 2024.

The Perfect Nanny - Shari J. Ryan

Shari J. Ryan's last book The Homemaker was great so I was eager to read this one.

Haley is studying psychology, and needs to earn money to support herself. Her well-paid childminding job ends in disaster, as she is accused of stealing the family's baby, a baby she hadn't even been told about.

This book starts with a bang, and the setup is handled brilliantly. Fast moving, regular twists and reveals. I was impressed and fully swept along for the ride.

There's an involved plot, it's very unpredictable. At different points I was reminded of Freida, Natalie Barelli, Minka Kent and Lucinda Berry, quite the stylistic lineup, and fans of those authors should enjoy this.

There are sections were Haley writes up events as an academic psychological study, those parts weren't the best for me, they broke up the momentum. While the second half didn't quite match up to the first, I enjoyed it overall and will be looking out for more books by Shari J. Ryan.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture
