You cannot tell me that this is Laura Woods first adult novel, I refuse to believe it. IT IS TOO GOOD. This is seasoned romance writer level.
And you will not convince me that this isn’t a thinly veiled witchy Harry Styles fanfic.

Clementine (Clemmie) is the daughter of a rock legend who wasn’t the present kind of dad. Growing up seeing all his discrepancies has totally turned her off of dating celebrities. Now at 32, after a wicked break-up, losing her job, apartment, and cat, she doesn’t know what the heck to do. Until her sister gets her a gig babysitting rockstar Theo Elliot while he goes on a retreat to finish his overdue album. He has a reputation for charming people, but Clemmie should be safe from that because of her daddy issues and resolve….. right?

I loved:
•How pro-therapy this was, it does a great job of actually walking you through what therapy can look like and still maintaining a healthy level of lightheartedness.
•The loving and tight-knit dynamic between the sisters Clemmie, Serena, and Lil. Their relationship really made me feel warm and fuzzies.
•The presence of ZERO miscommunications. These characters discuss their actions and communicate in such a comforting manner.
•Theo. He’s into trashy teen vampire dramas and historical romances. Be still my beating frickin heart.

Laura Wood you are amazing, thank you. I absolutely loved this romcom! I could totally picture it being cast with A list celebrities for a hit movie. It was giving Christina Lauren and Emily Henry vibes for sure. Some of the many reasons I adored this book: the cinnamon roll MMC, the character development of the FMC, the sister dynamics, the magic realism vibe of the spell, the celebrity romance trope, the humour and banter! Definitely recommend this book. 4.75/5⭐️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️From Atria Books: She wants three things. He isn’t one of them...
Dumped by her cheating ex, fired from her dream job, and about to lose her flat: Clementine Monroe is not having a good day.
Clemmie has accidentally ruined a funeral, had her first one-night stand, and she’s stuck with a new job she definitely doesn’t want—spending six weeks alone with the gorgeous and very-off-limits rock star, Theo Eliott.
He’s the most famous man on the planet. Her life’s a disaster. As their summer together turns into its own kind of magic, is Clemmie cursed to repeat the mistakes of her past—or will her future see all her wishes come true?

My review: This book is definitely easy to get into. Clemmie and her sisters are FUN. Theo definitely hides things to begin and I was eager to figure out his backstory.
I laughed many times while reading this...Clemmie's stream of consciousness thinking is amusing at times and downright hysterical at others (note: her fever dreams and filterless observations). Theo is adorable and the fact that Clemmie doesn't see his interest had me yelling at her. Rom coms, am I right? ;)
I loved their slow build up, worried about the third act upset, and anticipated the proverbial rom com happy ending.
Great book, interesting characters and medium spice. I loved it!! (And I may have a crush on Theo).

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Thank you to Atria Books and NetGalley for an advance digital copy in exchange for my review.

When I started Under Your Spell I didn’t think I’d love it as much as I did. The sisters are honestly the best and most loving characters ever. Their bond and how the root for one another in finding happiness was so sweet.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Under Your Spell has a very good premise, but the overall this reading wasn't for me. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get involved enough in the story, The beginning has potential but the rest of the plot is in my opinion very slow paced, Clemmie suffered so much, but in many moments she was just right down silly.

What made up for this was the rest of the book, around 70% of the story, it got a lot more interesting and the ending was cute, even if a little rushed. It's a really nice book for rom-com lovers, but I feel it doesn't have as robust an essence as other books. It's worth reading, but without putting too many expectations.

I enjoyed the book to start out with, especially the time period that Theo and Clementine were at the beach house. After that it fell pretty flat for me. Most of Part Four was a bit too cheesy for my preference. But overall, it was a quick and fun read.

Under Your Spell is a delightful rom-com that will sweep readers off their feet with its charming characters and swoon-worthy romance.
Clementine Monroe is having a rough time—dumped by her cheating ex, fired from her job, and facing the prospect of losing her flat. But when her sisters suggest reviving a childhood ritual called the Breakup Spell, Clemmie decides to give it a try. Little does she know that this decision will lead to a series of unexpected events, including accidentally ruining a funeral, having her first one-night stand, and landing a job she never wanted—spending six weeks alone with the gorgeous and off-limits rock star, Theo Eliott.
The author expertly crafts a story filled with humor, heart, and plenty of steamy moments as Clemmie navigates her way through a summer of unexpected twists and turns. The chemistry between Clemmie and Theo sizzles on the page, and readers will find themselves rooting for them to overcome the obstacles in their path to happiness.
But Under Your Spell isn't just about romance—it's also about self-discovery and learning to embrace the unexpected. As Clemmie faces the challenges of her past and confronts her fears about the future, she discovers that sometimes the best things in life happen when we least expect them.
With its witty dialogue, endearing characters, and irresistible romance, Under Your Spell is a must-read for fans of contemporary romance. the auhtor has crafted a story that is both heartwarming and uplifting, leaving readers with a smile on their faces long after they've turned the final page.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Under Your Spell by Laura Wood was delightful!
Clemmie and Theo's 'one night stand disaster' to forced proximity 'babysitting' to lovers was a fun journey. Her sister's were an added bonus - I loved their relationship. They had me laughing out loud numerous times!

Overall four stars
I would recommmend to anyone who likes a rockstar romance, forced proximity, and when their are strong family/sister bonds.

3.75 stars!

Thank you to Atria Books for providing me with an arc in exchange for an honest review 🫶 I actually really enjoyed this one! While there’s moments it fell flat, I think Clem and Theo’s relationship feels so cute and fated that it helped to pick the book back up when needed! If you grew up reading Harry Styles fan fiction in your bedroom this gave me a similar vibe, and you’ll for sure enjoy this one! The ending felt a bit too chaotic and rushed in my opinion and I wish the epilogue gave us a bit more info on their future but overall a fun and fairly quick celebrity romance read!

📖📖 Book review 📖📖 Clementine Monroe is down and out on her luck so her sisters suggest they recreate a spell from their childhood, such a fun opening to Under Your Spell! What actually follows the spell is a delightful and wonderful rom com that will bring about the biggest grin throughout the whole story! Under Your Spell has all the best tropes magically rolled up into one delicious read that will rock your socks off!

A young woman, born into notoriety and reluctant to engage with all the pratfalls and foibles that go along with it, As is the case, she finds herself immersed with fame when she falls for a famous musician, not knowing who he was. The stage is set, so to speak, and the evolution from fame-phobic to accepting was plausible and interesting.

I loved Under your Spell! The main character is Clementine whose father is a rock star. She has two sisters who are the same age with different moms. Their upbringing kept them close and they share a very strong bond. Clemmie recently was dumped by her boyfriend and lost her job, they "cast a spell" for love just like they used to do when they were younger. However, this time, will all their wishes come true?

I fell in love with the characters and the 3 sisters were all so likeable, different, and well developed. Clementine was a relatable character, despite me not knowing what it's like to have a rock star father or boyfriend. I loved her growth and self discovery and the fact that she was a FMC in her 30s. I quickly was pulled into the story and finished this book in 1 day!

What a delightful book! Clemmie meets Theo and sparks fly instantly. She’s down on her look and needs a spark more than anything. What begins as a ONS becomes a friendship and a real relationship when real identities and secrets are exposed.

This book was so much fun. I loved the set up and the relationship. The banter, the flirting, the story.

Highly recommend.

Thank you Atria and NetGalley for the ARC.

loved this romance and seeing the sisters all get their wish . Loved that they all figured out what they wanted to do in life and all found love. Loved seeing the moms and dad and that secrets came to light. Loved that she figured things out with the teddy and his music career.

This forced proximity, mistaken identity romance has the legs to carry you past the weirdest plot device where a world famous pop star is the pallbearer in a funeral and goes completely unrecognized by anyone in attendance, including the main character and several people he literally has known for years, and then spends the rest of the book dodging getting recognized by strangers in public. It makes no sense, but the slow burn sexual chemistry and the hilarious, charming side characters make up for that flaw. I always like when a romance creates a world around the love story, and this one certainly did. The three sisters felt so real, so relatable and so funny. The story of the mums joining forces to raise them is a unique and refreshing found family take. The daddy issues are raw and real and many will relate to being second fiddle as a child. Overall, this one was hard to put down and it mostly just left me wanting this to be a series with the next book being about sassy Serena and her love.

This book had the perfect blend of humor and romance! I spent a chilly afternoon flying through it because I just couldn’t put it down! The storyline was a bit far-fetched at times but the emotions were genuine and relatable. Thank you for the opportunity to read. I loved it and will recommend it to anyone looking for a great read.

The only spell I’m under, is whatever Laura Wood put in this book because I am completely obsessed! 😍

We first meet Clemmie, who is recently dumped by her boyfriend Len of four years-who also took her cat. #justicefortuna

So as you can see, Len is just no good and clearly the only way to manage a broken heart is obviously, to cast a spell.

This is where The Weird Sisters come in! Side note: I adore these sisters and am actively looking for an application to join their adorable coven.

Clemmie, Serena and Lil cast a spell called The Break Up Spell and it’s just adorable! Seriously. I was grinning ear to ear during the whole thing.

After the spell is cast, Clemmie doesn’t think much of it because surely, it won’t work. But what if maybe it did work 😱

Clemmie soon becomes the housekeeper at Granny Mac’s house. Which also happens to be a seculded summer home, high up on the Northumberland coast. Gorgeous back drop for falling in love, am I right?!

Oh wait, did I forgot to mention that Clemmie is also staying at this home with Edward, I mean, THEO. (You’ll understand when you read the book 🙃)

Theo and Clemmie stay together at Granny Mac’s home, for six weeks while Theo finishes his highly anticipated album. Shoot, did I also forget to mention that Theo also happens to be the biggest rock star on the planet?! *swoon* 🥰

Not only did Theo and Clemmie’s banter and love story have me smiling, giggling and kicking my feet at every turn of the page. But pair that with the added bonus of Clemmie’s sisters and this book is so easy to fall for-no spell needed!

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for an arc of this book. All opinions are my own.

It was giving Harry Styles... and I'm not really a fan of his.

HOWEVER, it was a cute story that was easy to get pulled into. There were plenty of laugh out loud moments, and I found myself wanting to read it. The relationship between the sisters was something I really enjoyed.

The slow burn wasn't too slow, and you can't go wrong with forced proximity.

I loved the mental health representation in the book, and I'm so glad it's becoming something that is more normal than it used to be.

I would recommend this book to my friends (especially those who are fans of Harry Styles)
