This book was delightful- all the magic and sisterly love and a romance that was so fun to watch blossom. I loved seeing the whole thing play out while Clemmie grows and changes and figures out how to trust herself and take Theo at his word that he loves her. I feel like the light magic of this would be perfect for a fall cusp read with the first PSL of the year!

“But if I had three wishes, each one would be for you.”

BYEEEE. I’m deceased. Y’all this book was so CUTE, I’m in love with it as much as Clemmie and Theo are in love with each other. I think one of my new favorite subtropes is male celebrity with bad boy persona but is actually cinnamon roll. This also explains my real life crush on Harry Styles.

I liked that it wasn’t just Clemmie’s character growth we saw, moving on and making reconciliations with her past trauma, but also Ripp, her father and big time musician. I think her mom said it best— he’s not a bad person, just completely unaware of his actions and the effect they have on people. Unfortunately, said actions had caused a lot of daddy issues in Clem, and her ex boyfriend betraying her the way he did certainly did not help. So when Theo comes along, the biggest star there is currently, she’s thinking no way, I’m not being fooled thrice.
But it’s hard not to love a golden retriever. Especially when with the forced proximity trope that leaves them alone with each other for six weeks.

Of course, fame life gets in the way once they leave their little bubble, but overall I think it was handled maturely. Mistakes were made but communication did eventually happen which is important.

The writing was amazing and quippy, and I tabbed so many one-liners and zingers that had me cackling. There were a lot of fun and favorite moments in this and I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a book to just put a smile on their face.

Thank you Atria Books for my gifted copy!

Things are not going great for Clementine Monroe. Her boyfriend cheated on her and stole her cat. She has to move out of her apartment, and she lost her dream job.

She turns to her sisters for comfort. They are all 4 months apart, fathered by a famous rock star, with 3 different mothers. The sisters are very, very close.

She has her first one-night stand and it turns out, he is an ultra-famous rock star. She did not know this at the time, but it turns out he is THE rock star she has just agreed to spend the summer with, assisting her sister who works in the music industry.

The famous Theo Eliott has been having difficulty coming up with a new album. His record label has sent him into seclusion to work on it, and Clemmie is to oversee him.

Based on her past relationships in the music industry, she has sworn off all men who are tied up in music. Can she survive a summer in such close proximity to Theo? Will he come out of his slump and be able to write a new album?

I loved the characters, quirky and real. The story line was not exactly what I was expecting, but I was invested right off the bat. I was hoping for a little more of the “rock and roll” side of things. However, this was a very enjoyable summer read, one I would recommend!

We did get some depth into her relationship with her famous father, her sisters (and all of their mother’s) and her past relationship with her Granny Mac.

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for an advanced e-copy of this book.

“Sometimes you have to take a risk, follow a fork in the road you didn’t see coming, to end up where you belong” ⁣

Oh I swooned, I cried, I fell in love! This book was so beautiful. ⁣

It’s like if Mick Riva was the father of 3 women by 3 different mothers and they all turned out amazingly normal. Then his daughter, who doesn’t really keep up with pop culture gets to essentially babysit the upcoming Mick Riva, but he’s actually a million times better. (and I’m sorry Theo, you are so much more than we imagined) oh did I mention they had a one night stand and had no idea who each other were? Cool cool cool. ⁣

Need a new book boyfriend? Meet Theo Elliott. Singer, songwriter, deeply caring happy famous person extraordinaire. Clementine Monroe, you were an amazing MC. Together, they were amazing. Plus, her mom, sisters, and even David? I was living for this cast of characters. Easily could read a series about them.⁣

Audio was wonderful. I honestly felt like it was dual narration, but it’s not! Ellie Heydon really made this book shine.⁣

I feel like this book actually sparkled with fun magic and friendship. The soundtrack was amazing, but all I could think of was this song. Out yesterday, one of my favorites of the year.⁣

QOTD: If you could have a MySpace like theme song for your page, what would it be? ⁣

Clementine and Theo are common book names these days... I've read multiple books with these names in them recently. Theo is pretty normal. But Clementine... weird. Names aside, this book was very good. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I laughed out loud. I giddily kicked my feet. I cried. I felt all the feels. That's really all I'm asking for from these books. The bulk of the story is semi-normal girl Clementine and famous musician Theo navigating a what a relationship together would be like. It includes A1 acts of service, funny banter, and British humor. 4 ⭐️

One of my favorite 3rd act breakups in a while because it actually makes sense!! Such a solid read. We love a patient man! The characters have chemistry, but their friendship is everything! Loved the playful banter between the two main characters.

Very cliche but not in an annoying way. Your typical “I didn’t know he was a celebrity” “i love that she treats me like a human being” love story. If you’ve got a celebrity crush and youre delusional that they might ever date a normal person— this book is especially for you. As someone with 0 celebrity crushes, I still loved this. Perfectly paced and I loved all the likeable characters. A solid romance beach read!

I had such a great time with this. I think I smiled through most of this story. Theo is an absolute doll and must be protected at all costs. Every side character and family member was written beautifully. I was scared with a prologue because, well, we know how those go sometimes but it was a nice little look forward a bit.

Thank you Atria, Netgalley and Laura for allowing me access to an e-arc in exchange for an honest review. I look forward to reading more from Laura!

4.25⭐
Quick and fun read with engaging characters that you'll love and root for while not wanting to put the book down or stop reading. Clemmie has had world class rotten day, losing her job and a breakup with her cheating boyfriend who's not only taking all the furniture but taking her cat too. She and her two sisters, born within 4 months of each other to the same rock star but 3 different mothers, got roaring drunk and sorta sent a combo wish/curse out into the universe. Next thing you know Clemmie has agreed to help her sister by being a personal assistant in a remote coastal village to a rock star needing peace and quiet as he works on his new album for six weeks. Except he's her just-broke-up-one-night-stand.

This book had an interesting premise, but overall, I felt it a bit lacking.

There wasn't much that drew me into the characters. I didn't connect well with Clementine or Theo, and honestly, thought their initial meeting came off overwhelmingly strong. There was hardly any conversation before they had slipped into a one night stand, and while I can certainly understand that perhaps conversation isn't needed in that moment, it gave the reader almost no opportunity to learn anything about the two characters. Additionally, I felt that the first part of the book dragged on forever, and not in a good slow burn kind of way. There was hardly any tension between the two and it just felt more awkward than anything. Additionally, for a book that talks about a "Breakup Spell" in the summary, there was hardly any time spent on it. There was nothing that seemed otherworldly or magical about it, so it felt like it was just kind of there for no real reason. Ultimately, a lot of the book felt very flat to me.

I'm sure some people will enjoy this, but it didn't really do anything for me.

If Netflix doesn't pick this up as a movie, it's a missed opportunity! This was the hilarious rom-com I didn't know I needed. "Witchy" sisterhood, curvy fmc with daddy issues, down-to-earth charismatic mmc. I genuinely loved this story and highly recommend this quick read.

Thanks Atria & NetGalley for this digital copy :)
I really wanted to love this based on all the positive reviews, but this was not a win for me. I couldn’t for the life of my connect with any of the characters, and honestly felt no chemistry between them. It felt somewhat like another harry styles fanfic and I was quite bored.

Clementine Monroe, the daughter of an aging rock star, finds herself unexpectedly working for Theo Eliott, the world's hottest musician, despite her vow to never date a celebrity. After being dumped, fired, and nearly losing her home, Clemmie reluctantly takes on the job, leading to a summer filled with unexpected magic and undeniable chemistry. As she navigates her disastrous life alongside Theo, she must decide if she’s doomed to repeat her past mistakes or if her future might finally fulfill her wishes.

I could not put this book down once I started! I mean, THEO - come on. I loved the mistaken identity leading to forced proximity to reluctantly falling for each other. The characters are well thought out and developed. The side characters are absolutely hilarious. And there is SO MUCH TALKING. I HATE it in a romance when I’m supposed to be invested in a couple but you never see them talk and get to know each other - that is NOT the case here and I am HERE FOR IT. You could see on the page Clemmie and Theo falling for each other and it was wonderful. Plus - BONUS: It opens kind of like The Office with a bird funeral and it was hilarious.

Oh, how I enjoyed this delightful book! I’m not one for musicians and Hollywood and all that but the author created wonderful characters and a real page turner. I couldn’t put this down. I loved watching Theo and Clemmie’s romance blossom and I loved seeing how they navigated the dark side of fame. I thought this whole plot was written very believably. I kept thinking things like “that’s a good point!” and nodding along.

The relationship between Clemmie and her sisters was amazing. So many positive female relationships were portrayed in this book.

This is one of those romances I will reread because I will need to re-experience the magic.

Clementine Monroe is infamous, but not of her own volition. She is the daughter of a rock god and is one of three girls born within four months, all his daughters. Now she's all grown up and finding out her job has not been renewed and was just dumped by her boyfriend and, yeah, he took her cat. The trifecta of suckitude that starts many a romance novel. But this book is nice in that it's first person and we really get to see how Clementine and Theo Elliott fall in love.
After she and her sisters cast a spell, it seems like things might be perking up. Clemmie is looking for a job and Theo needs someone to hang out with him while he finishes up an album that he was supposed to deliver two years ago. See, he was a boy band god but Clemmie never really paid attention because she was really into old rock. Also, I'm not remembering why Theo's assistant couldn't just... come with him. So there might be some points where disbelief suspension might be a little harder but I really did enjoy the relationship building

Four stars

If charmed was a 2010s fanfic about Harry Styles, you'd get Under Your Spell, and we'd eat it UP.

Under Your Spell follows Clementine "Clemmie" Monroe, our resident musician hater bc of dad and ex bf trauma who's life has pretty much blown up and not in a good way, and Theo Elliot, super famous and hot rock star that she has a one night stand with and ends up watching for 2 months while he tries to get his writing mojo back.

Clementine, Serena, and Lil had me in TEARS they were so chaotic and funny. I'm so obsessed with their sisterhood and their family. Imagine three women wronged by the same man and decided to stick together so their daughter could grow up to be sisters? Absolute girlhood right there. The spell they "casted" and the sex mist had me crying and reminded me of the shenanigans my cousins and I would get in everytime we're together.

Now Clemmie and Theo. Their relationship dynamic felt so genuine and I LOVE a man that falls first. Clemmie gives Type A but also clumsy/awkward girl vibes, and having her first one night stand be so chaotic was really fun to read. Theo is a man who says what he means. Aside from the name miscommuncation, he never shyed away from his feelings for Clemmie.

I really loved how Clemmie claimed her life back and stopped letting her past get in the way of living her life and loving theo.

Thank you to Netgalley and Atria books for this arc in exchange for an honest review!

Clemmie was a bit of a hot mess. One of a trio of sisters born to a philandering rock star father, I loved Clemmie’s bond with her untraditional family and her sisters in particular. They were all vastly different and their unique personalities livened up quite a few scenes in this book. Clemmie’s relationship with her father isn’t great. He was never around for her when she was young, more interested in his own stardom than being a father. So, when she realizes her one night stand is the very famous Theo Elliott she wants nothing to do with him, but she’s made a promise to help her sister by providing the location for him to have peace and quiet and write his long anticipated album.

Theo was pretty down to earth for a rock star which made him pretty easy to like. The fact he was completely smitten with Clemmie made her avoidance of him fun to read. He had to work for their budding relationship which created some tension, as well as allowed the author to develop these characters, giving them back stories and depth that an insta love novel wouldn’t have provided. I really enjoyed their journey and loved the resolutions to their conflicts. Overall this was just a really easy to read enjoyable story.

Once again, I took a chance on a book written by an author unknown to me and was absolutely blown away by it. I really think this will end up being one of my top romance reads of the year. Clemmie and Theo were such a great couple. Their chemistry was explosive (although the bedroom scenes are closed door), and the banter and humor running through the book had me smiling all the time and racing to turn the pages.

Theo, Theo, Theo! Absolutely the perfect book boyfriend, a famous rocker, yet so much more - kind, caring, and head over heels for Clemmie pretty much from the moment he met her. As for poor Clemmie, she swore she'd never fall for another rock and roll star after growing up with her famous, self-centered singer dad, then being used and dumped at 18 by her first love, a drummer whom her father ultimately hired even after the guy completely betrayed her trust. Yet as she and Theo were forced to share a house for 6 weeks, there was no way she could continue to deny her attraction to him.

On top of this wonderful romance, Clemmie's relationship with her two sisters and her unconventional moms was beautiful, and such a source of strength for all of them. Best of all, Theo (and the romantic partners of Clemmie's sisters) were completely respectful and appreciative of how strong those bonds were. My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions in this review are my own.

Thanks to Atria for the copy!

I really thought this was going to be a win because I love witch books and romance. Unfortunately, it was really slow and I thought pretty boring. I wasn’t feeling like chemistry between the main characters and it just wasn’t for me!

I received a DIGITAL Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book was super adorable and I loved it. The main thing that I loved in this book was the relationship between Clemmie and her sisters. The idea for the sisters is very different and I loved how close they were and their entire dynamic. They truly were each others soulmates.

But the relationship between Clemmie and Theo was fantastic too. Theo is an amazing book boyfriend. It was so much fun reading everything in this book an it put a giant smile on my face.
