Under Your Spell is a tender and sexy contemporary romance between a musician and the daughter of a rock star who has sworn off dating musicians. I enjoyed this book immensely. I loved Clemmie and Theo's romantic relationship. Theo was such a sweet cinnamon roll! But even more than their love story, I loved Clemmie's relationship with her sisters and their unconventional (found family). Under Your Spell is a perfect summer read. I highly recommend it!

This was cute. I love a good rock star romance, and this was well-written. The lead characters Clemmie and Theo have great chemistry and I was happy how their story played out. The bond between the three sisters, all the same age, all having the same famous Dad and different mothers was really interesting. All in all a light, fun romcom, perfect for a beach read. This was my first book by this author, and I will definitely give her other books a try.

I smiled the entire time I read this book. I loved it all. The sisters, the rock star dad, the forced proximity, Theo 😍 A perfect summer romcom!! Only taking one star off because it did drag a little in the middle

I loved this story so much!! Pay attention contemporary romance authors and publishers-/ this is how you write a romance book. Just when I start to give up on the genre because every book is full of lies, miscommunication, drama, and formulaic toxic relationships, along comes a modern day romance done right. Clemmy and Theo were all the feels!! I also loved the bond between the three sisters. I know I should write a whole long review to convince people in detail how this is their next 5 star read but I’ll keep it simple. You’ll thank me when you read this book!

Tysm Atria Books for the ARC. I'm an idiot for waiting so long to read this. I was instantly invested in the story and loved the writing. Laura Wood is a COMEDIAN and I need more from her ASAP. My second 5 star book of the year so that's saying a lot!!!

Thank you to Atria Books and NetGalley for this eArc!

This was SUCH a delight to read. I’ve noticed recently that I REALLY struggle with romances when there isn’t comedy, and this was not only laugh out loud funny, it was also adorable, full of tension and charm, and an overall really unique & fun take on the celebrity/non-celebrity romance. Theo is SUCH a sweet MMC, but he’s also sexy as hell and realistically complex. He gives big Harry Styles energy, having gotten famous as a child as a part of a boy band and then striking out on his own. I loved how he recognized the parts of himself that were out of touch, but also how he remained so humble and genuine despite his fame. He and Clementine had SUCH great chemistry from their very first meeting, and it makes it extra fun that that have no idea who the other one is at first.

I think my absolute favorite thing about this story was the absolutely beautiful balance between friendship and romance that our main characters are able to strik. All too often, friendship can fill a romantic connection within a romance book, but this friendship only made their chemistry sweeter while also keeping an absolutely squirm-worthy tension.

The only reason I’ve given this 4.5/5 stars is because there was one 3rd act detail that felt really unnecessary and unexplained to me (spoiler alert: Clemmie & Theo not talking for over a month for… no obvious reason at all). Everything around this was still incredibly sweet and fun, so it only detracted from the story a little bit for me.

Ultimately. If you like an ACTUALLY funny rom-com, romance between a famous person and a non-famous person, overcoming some difficult family dynamics, one of the absolute best sister relationships I’ve ever encountered, and lovers who are also best friends, you will love this!

I enjoyed this book!! It had me in the first half, however, I will admit it started to drag a bit in the second but picked up in the last bit, but I wasn't loving what was happening (I will say I have read the ARC so some things may be cut out/changed). This felt like a fan fic (in a good way, idk why people use that as an insult?) and I was EATING up Theo. Overall it was a good time and I highly recommend it if you love one of us is famous or if you're a fangirl!

Thank you, NetGalley for the ARC 💓

I really enjoyed this. I liked the relationship between Clemmie and her sisters and I like the idea of their moms bonding over their poor taste in baby daddies. Theo was almost too good in that he was perfect in literally every way. The relationship between him and Clemmie is cute and they are funny together. I like how Clemmie was really affected by her past but uses therapy to get through it. The relationship is almost too perfect but who can’t use some romance and positivity in their lives?

Oh my gosh this book is so good! Clementine and Theo are so sweet together. Their first meeting burns hot and fast. Then the slow burn sets in….but it’s the sweetest story. He falls so hard and the way he pines for her, but is patient is everything. Her internal obsession with him through most of the book is hilarious and sweet.

This book navigates family dynamics, family trauma, relationship trauma and betrayal, therapy and learning to trust and love someone who is safe.

Beautiful story! Love Clementine’s sisters so much. The underlying plot of this book that involves her sisters is so clever and funny. Love!

This was the most delightful read!!! Rock stars and "normies" aren't meant to be together, right?? That's what "they" all say. Man, were they ever wrong!!

Theo and Clemmie are a true dream couple. They fight, they make up, they confuse each other, they fall in love. Hard. So hard, for both of them. Yes, there's a bunch of things that come between them and try to break them up, of course there is. How they come together in the end is loving, and tender, and oh, so sweet.

The supporting characters are such a fun part of the ride. They give so much depth, and heart to the two main characters. I love them all!!

I hope the author writes a follow-up to this story ... I want more!! Also, I think this would make a FANTASTIC movie!! I hope someone writes a killer script and runs with it!!!

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book was really good. Clemmi and her sisters revive a breakup spell. She doesn’t see harm in it at first since everything else in her life is a mess right now. But the spell definitely makes her wonder to be careful what you wish for. Sooo good. I loved it.

This was my first book by Laura Wood and honestly, I was not prepared.

I wasn’t prepared for how deeply charmed I would be by the characters. Especially Theo who – despite being a rockstar – gave such adorable golden retriever energy, I found it absolutely irresistible. I fell all the way in love with him. Almost immediately. He was adorable and silly and sweet – basically the opposite of what you’d expect from a rockstar hero – but it worked for me in a way I was, well, totally not prepared for.

I wasn’t prepared for how charmed I’d be by the writing! It was so engaging and funny. Yeah, I wasn’t at all prepared for how many times I giggled out loud right there in the middle of Theo and Clemmie’s delicious slow burn. I smiled so big and so much throughout this entire story. It felt good and I needed that in a way I didn’t even understand before I lost myself between these pages.

I wasn’t prepared for how touched I would be by the (literal) sisterhood in all it’s amusing, sweet, authenticity. I loved the way they showed up for each other, pushed each other out of their comfort zones, and supported each other through all the tough bits. I loved the witchy undertones and the English countryside setting and - just, everything. I loved everything.

I, honestly, was just not prepared to love this book as much as I did and that makes it one of the best surprises of 2024 for me. I adored this story. It was sweet and warm and completely heartfelt. I’m so glad I took a chance on an author I hadn’t read before because now I cannot wait to see what else Laura Wood has up her sleeve!

This was a slow burn romance that had a sort of forced proximity, rockstar trope. They meet at a funeral and are never the same again. It was cute and had an happily ever after.

I love that the FMC is 32 years old, unsure of her future, and close with her half-sisters. It was refreshing to read about a character that I felt I could relate to so much! The MMC was very charming from the beginning, and seeing him through Clemmie's eyes often left you wondering if what she was explaining was the actual truth (her past left her with some serious self-esteem issues, and it shows in the way she interacts with Theo in the beginning). The progression throughout the book, as well as the highs and lows, kept me reading until the very end.

My biggest problem with the book is the love progression. It felt like we missed a part of them getting to know each other, and the "I love you."'s were just thrown out there. If we had gotten just a tiny bit more interactions between them, it would have felt more believable.

The 3rd act breakup was sad, even when you know it's coming.

The ending was perfect. I loved Clemmie's growth, as well as the progression she made in her relationships with her family.

If you're looking for a rock star romance with an older FMC, forced proximity, and sisterly love, then I would definitely recommend this book!

First off I wanna thank NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book with an arc. First off the relationship between Clementine and Theo is super cute and he is kind and charming and not something you would expect however, this book was a really good romcom and I highly recommend it to those that love that genre.

This book hooked me in the first few chapters! It is such a good feel good rom-com. I loved the magical realism elements in this story. I really enjoyed Theo’s character and his personality. He is sweet, kind, caring. The relationship with Clementine was so cute, had me kicking my feet and giggling with their banter. I also adored the relationship with Clemmie and her sisters

Under your spell
This one surprised me! I thought it was going to be a lot of the rock n roll super star kind of love story. But it was more, like practical magic plus the rock and roll stuff. And it was funny! The funeral bit and the you must make a U-turn now, oh boy that was hilarious. I love the 3 sisters their love and devotion to one another is awesome. With out all the sassy fighting they were just sisters, so lovely. And Theo…. Major swoon. Perfect summer read! Stay up past midnight reading kind of read. Light, funny, and romantic. Totally would recommend!
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

In their Practical Magic era, Clemmie and her sisters cast a Breakup Spell to bring them love, career success, and good sex (in no particular order). The daughter of a rock star who has sworn off dating celebrities, Clemmie is determined to get hers, and she won't let a guitar playing hottie deter her- even if he might be the fish upon her wish.

I knew I was going to love this book by the first chapter. Clemmie and her sisters stole my heart (I need a whole book about Lil, k?) There are so many wonderful parts of this book it's honestly hard to say what I loved best. There's a meet cute at a funeral (!), the mums (multiple), therapy and catharsis, and the tropes are slow burn x forced proximity. I love romances where the characters learn and grow.

Clemmie was a goddess who was very clear about her wants and what she was/wasn't going to stand for. Theo was such swoon worthy book boyfriend material, and I love how honest and clear he was with Clemmie about his feelings and intentions.

This book is hilarious. And charming. And adorable. That's all you need to know. Go read it now!
