I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.
Thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for an advanced readers copy of this book.
As book six in this series, I feel like you know what you're getting into here. Books about a sex club are, well, full of sex. (Full disclaimer, I have not read the other books prior to this one.)
Although this is very spice-heavy, the underlying story is about relationships and growth. You start with the primary relationship being MF1 (breakup),then to MF2 (rebound), which then morphs into MF1F2. As a hetero-presenting bi-female, this one was hot. So often the romances with multi-party relationships are some variation of one woman and 2+ men (as if!), and rarely multiple women. This was a welcome change of scenery!
Overall, the description sums up the story pretty well. This is no great feat of penmanship, but it was certainly entertaining. I gave it 3 stars after balancing out the average writing and super hot smut.
📚Trope(s): FMF (poly relationship), Domme/Sub (with all the fixins)

I loved this book so much! One of my favorite things about a book is watching the characters grow. And my did these characters grow. And the chemistry between Jade, Clay and Eden 💙🌶.
Definitely one of my favorite reads.
**I received this book as an arc through NetGalley**
Madame is the latest book in the Salacious Players' series, and OMG- it did not disappoint! Madame follows Eden, a Domme, who was kinda in a relationship with Clay but ultimately breaks his heart since she has some issues with past relationships. Clay then starts dating Jade, who is is bosses daughter (he really knows how to pick 'em). Then Jade and Eden happen to meet and all of this comes out, but no worries, because Jade is into Eden too! Its a whirlwind of a book with lots of ups and downs, and I never wanted to set it down! I do feel like at times it was repetitive because of Eden's resistance to the relationship and Clay's way of handling it was not my favorite. But I loved Eden's son Jack, and it was nice to see the main guys/ girls (Emerson, Garrett, Drake. Hunter, Charlie and Mia) a little bit more! I thought this book took on a different pace and new things, which I love about this series!
I would recommend this book to anyone who has read any of the Salacious Players' series, likes FFM, likes lots of kinks and sexy scenes, and likes a push and pull between the main characters.
Spice rating: 4.7/5
Overall: 9.5/10
I had no idea what to expect with this book but I kept an open mind. This book had lots of spice (I mean, it is about a dominatrix) and it was surprisingly a fast-paced read. The story developed in a way that made you want to keep reading and find out what happened next. The book had a great flow and the characters were easily lovable. I enjoyed how the story and characters developed where everything came full circle. This book made me want to read about the other characters featured in the series.
A behind the scenes look at how someone becomes a Madame, or dominant. It was an interesting take on things and the evolution into the lifestyle was something I hadn't read before. It was rather spicy and took a turn I had not anticipated. A hot read...
Sara Cate’s Madame is a compelling addition to the Salacious Players Club series, focusing on a professional Domme who fiercely guards her secret while navigating complex relationships. The story kicks off when Clay Bradley, a submissive who once broke through her defenses, reappears with Jade, a stunning woman seeking training.
Cate masterfully explores the dynamics between the characters, balancing intense interactions with a deep emotional journey. The Domme’s struggle to protect her secret while dealing with her feelings for both Clay and Jade adds rich tension and depth to the narrative.
What sets Madame apart is its emphasis on consensual sexual experiences and the thoughtful inclusion of trigger warnings, enhancing the reading experience. Cate’s portrayal of healthy, consensual relationships is both refreshing and commendable.
Madame stands out in the genre, offering a spicy, adult read that blends erotic elements with genuine emotional stakes. For those seeking a romance that delves into power dynamics with a strong focus on consent and respect, Madame is a must-read.
To quote someone else's Goodreads review, "This again left me feeling like Eden was an accessory/third wheel in her own novel, which was super disappointing after loving her character in the prior books. tl;dr: this is actually Jade’s book, and Eden is again relegated to a side character."
I never really considered Eden a main character that needed her own book. Frankly, I never considered her to be even as young as she's portrayed on the cover of Madame. But once she had her own book - well, what was the point if it was essentially Clay and Jade's book?
My favorite in the series was Eyes On Me, and second Praise, third was Maggie's book. The others I didn't like as much. I started Madame really late, but I think I've already given up on this series. It really bothered me to start off hearing about Eden and her back story, then it was all about Clay and Jade? No thanks. I DNFd this book around 25% in.
I received an advanced copy and am giving an honest review.
I give this a solid 3.5 stars. This is the third book I've read in the Salacious Players Club, and I enjoyed it. It was a fast paced easy read for the summer. I liked the relationship between Clay, Jade and Eden. Each of there relationships with each other were unique, and the chemistry between them all was fantastic. This had a lot of spicy scenes, which were well done, and the plot was nicely paced. Overall, it was a great addition to the series. It makes me want to go back and read the other books now.
Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks for the ARC!
The dynamic in the relationships between the characters was not my favorite. It didn't feel like a poly romance, more like an m/f romance with an addition, if that makes sense. I adore poly romances, but I need to feel like everyone is equally important & loved in the relationship.
I fell in love with the SPC from book one, but finally getting Eden's book was everything. Eden is such a good human and friend to all of the other's in all their other books, I just knew her book would break my heart, and it did. I fell more in love with her as a character, in her story, and really felt the emotions that Sara spent time putting in this book. Watching the love blossom in this book was so heartbreaking and beautiful.
This may have been one of my favourite love story to this day, these three were everything.
I liked Eden and Clay and enjoyed the throuple dynamic in this book. However, I hated Jade. She was selfish, stuck up, and the moments where she was “standing up” for herself made her seem fake as fuck. When I started reading Madame I didn’t mind her, but as the book continued I was skimming all her parts. I was talking to MYSELF out loud ranting about how awful she was. She’s painted as an “innocent” people pleaser when she really just feels like a user. Everything needed to be on her terms and timeline. When other characters had strong emotions that caused them to make mistakes, everything was about how betrayed Jade was.
Also, I really don’t understand how the BDSM roles work in this book? Every character was a dominant, submissive, and switch at different points. That may sound confusing. Isn’t someone who is dominant and submissive a switch? Yes. So how could the characters be all three? I don’t know! Someone tell me! These characters took quizzes and were introduced as being one identity and by the end of the book were just all over the place in these roles. Maybe I just don’t understand how the community works which is fine but it was just so confusing.
In this riveting audiobook finale of the Salacious Players' Club series, I immersed myself in the enigmatic world of professional Domme Eden. Voiced by the talented Muffy Newtown, Brandon Francis, and Maxine Mitchell, the characters came to life in vivid detail. Eden's struggle to protect her secret life while navigating a complex relationship with submissive Clay and his partner, Jade, was portrayed with raw emotion and depth. The narrators skillfully captured the intense intimacy and emotional complexities of their interactions. Sara Cate's storytelling prowess was evident as she expertly explored the nuances of polyamorous dynamics, infusing the narrative with sensuality, self-discovery, and unexpected twists. The audiobook kept me spellbound, delivering a captivating blend of passion, vulnerability, and psychological exploration, making it an unforgettable listening experience.
I read the majority of this series and it slowly lost its luster. By the time I reached "Highest Bidder" I had quit reading. I never did read that particular book, as Ronan never did interest me. i did decide to go back and read Eden's story, but, honestly, it was pretty dull. I thought that, perhaps, as someone who lived a number of years as a single mom myself, I would find some camaraderie in the story, but I just didn't. I felt like the personalities were just recycled versions of the characters from past books in the series. This one just wasn't my favorite. Salacious just drug out too long and lost its edge a while ago.
I am so sad to see this series end, but what a way to go out!
This book was filled with everything I’ve come to love about Sara Cate’s writing: sexual awakenings, deep emotional processing, found family, and embracing unexpected relationships. Not only are these books hot but they will make you feel every emotion under the sun – and you’ll still be begging for more!
I’ve been excited for Eden’s story since the very beginning of the series when she first showed up – but I never could have imagined the story that came to be. Sara, I’m in awe of your mind and your ability to craft a story filled with characters I not only wish I could know in real life if only for their confidence and their ability to enjoy life from every angle, but also love purely for their growth from one page to the next.
Thank you for this phenomenal end to one of my all-time favorite series. If you haven’t read it yet, what are you even waiting for??
Tropes:
- Single mom
- Poly relationship
- Age gap
- MFF
- Second chance romance
- BDSM
- Sex club
- Female empowerment
The book had some good spice but beyond that, the storyline was boring. Stereotypical issues, no real growth. I was looking for spice and storyline and this wasn’t it.
*I received this book in exchange for an honest review*
I have loved Sara Cate's books since Praise, and was so excited to see that this one would be about Eden, who was introduced in the first book. What I love about Cate's books is that she creates flawed, earnest characters, and shows their individual growth throughout the story. Each character in Madame is strong in their own way, and learns and grows from each other. I'm giving the book a 4/5 because I think that the communication conflict was drawn out a little too long, but overall, I loved the book!
Huge thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for providing me with access to this book in exchange for an honest review.
Wow! This book, like the others in the series, are *chef's kiss* - they have the perfect mix of spice, drama, and plot. You will fall in love with the characters in this book. I think I may have enjoyed this one the most.
This is the last book from the salacious players club series and I couldn’t be more excited to read it. I have cried so much with these series and had really high expectations with this last book, in fact it exceeded my expectations, it is such a lovely story with the perfect combo in it a little bit of spice and great story line !
”Eden is more than a sexy body and beautiful face. She’s a force. She’s like the sun, and we are all orbiting around her, basking in her glow. We are just grateful to be in her presence.”
Eden St. Claire is in desperate need of getting out of her own life. She takes a kink test on a BDSM app and goes on a date with the billionaire Ronan Kade. But he sees right through her and in return they make an agreement to find out who Eden really is; where she belongs after her terrible past. Clay Bradley was Eden’s former sub in their dom/sub relationship. After a few months he started dating Jade. What will happen when these three meet?
Having only read the fourth book, Mercy, beforehand, I unquestionably enjoyed this as well! The story was so interesting I wanted to know what was going to happen. I really like how Cate writes sex scenes with such precision it makes me all tingly, but she also makes me curious about the character’s personal life, how it goes. It was my first M/F/F couple I’ve read about and I liked it. Their chemistry was off the roof and their scenes were just so damn hot! I will definitely read more from Cate!
Happy reading!♥️
