Enjoyable read, as previous ones. Characters are growing up nicely in the way what they feel, how they see world around themselves. I like writing style, easy to follow.
I loved the first book in this series. the 2nd book was okay, but I for sure think the 3rd book is my FAVORITE so far.
without spoilers:
questions were finally answered from the previous books.
the romance was excellent and we got more of it.
the new POV from other characters I greatly appreciate. (even thought I know people dislike when that happens, I LOVE it.)
I am going to sit here and cross my fingers and hope that another book will develope in this series. only because I am not ready for it to end.
Thank you netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book.
I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.
Love love loved this book! Such a breath of fresh air with Roux and Ludovic. I loved the first two, but Roux is one of my favorite characters so I loved having a book centered with her. The fight scenes, as usual, were fantastic, and captivating. The police intertwined was so different and I loved it.
Overall, fantastic third book for this series.
Bella Higgin is great and I really enjoyed this. Recommend.
I didn't realize this came 3rd in a series until I started reading and felt like I'd missed something, so now I'll have to go back and read the first two, I wish I already had them!
Thank you to Netgalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.
Bella Higgin's *Hunted* delves into a thrilling world where vampires navigate the complexities of love, loyalty, and survival amidst looming threats. Set in the aftermath of a decisive battle for Belle Morte, the story follows Ludovic de Vauban, a reclusive vampire celebrity, and Roux Hayes, a resourceful human donor with a knack for survival.
The novel opens with the aftermath of a victory, yet danger lurks as escaped enemy vampires threaten the fragile peace. Ludovic, seeking to confront his fears and venture beyond his mansion's sanctuary, teams up with Roux—a street-smart, quick-witted ally who challenges his perceptions and offers a gateway to the outside world.
Central to *Hunted* is the evolving relationship between Ludovic and Roux, which unfolds against a backdrop of danger and uncertainty. Their partnership, born of necessity, blossoms into a passionate bond neither expected. Higgin masterfully navigates their emotional journey, blending moments of intense chemistry with poignant introspection as they navigate trust, vulnerability, and the complexities of their respective worlds.
Character development shines in *Hunted*, with Ludovic and Roux emerging as multifaceted protagonists grappling with their roles in a changing society. Ludovic's internal struggle with his past and present identity as a vampire, contrasted with Roux's resilience and resourcefulness, adds depth to their individual arcs and their burgeoning romance.
The world-building in *Hunted* is richly atmospheric, painting a vivid picture of a vampire society on the brink of transformation. Higgin's prose vividly captures the contrast between Belle Morte's opulence and the gritty urban landscape where Ludovic and Roux navigate alliances and adversaries. The tension between old enmities and newfound alliances heightens the stakes, keeping readers engaged as the narrative unfolds.
At its heart, *Hunted* explores themes of love, loyalty, and the consequences of choice. The novel's blend of supernatural intrigue and romantic tension offers a compelling narrative that will resonate with fans of paranormal romance and urban fantasy alike. As Ludovic and Roux confront external threats and internal conflicts, their journey becomes a poignant exploration of resilience and the power of love amidst adversity.
As the story builds towards its climax, Higgin maintains a steady pace, balancing action-packed sequences with moments of emotional intimacy. The resolution is satisfying yet leaves room for future developments, ensuring that readers remain invested in the characters' fates long after the final page.
I enjoyed this book the most out of the series. It was way more action packed and suspenseful. And I really loved getting two new character POVs. Ludovic and Roux and so sweet and awkward at the same time.
<spoiler>I loved seeing their friendship/relationship blossom.</spoiler>
We got answers to many of the questions that were left at the end of Revelations and things wrapped up nicely at the ending of this book. Another book could be fun though ;)
Overall, highly recommend this book!
Thank you to NetGalley, Wattpad Books and Bella Higgin for this eARC and the chance to read and review this.
I loved this series! Belle Morte and Revelations were good, but Hunted was by far the best of the series. Ludovic and Roux have a fast paced relationship that fits with the plot, and overall it's a great quick read when you're in the mood for vampires.
This is a slow burn romance, grumpy sunshine, forced proximity. There's vampires, mystery, romance, and thriller. It was a really good story and the cover to this novel was beautiful.
I received a copy from the publisher via Netgalley for an honest review.
I absolutely LOVED and devoured the first two Belle Morte novels so I was very excited when I saw this third one on Netgalley. As I began the novel I was a bit taken aback. The first two novels were from Renie's point of view mostly, then Edmond. We were introduced to Renie's bestie, Roux, and Edmond's, Ludavic. Although we did not know much about them and certainly hadn't read from their voices so the fact that this novel began and it was from their two points of view was a bit jarring. I appreciated that the novel picked up right where the last left off and we continued the story, it was difficult to get into the world when I had new narrators now. This was an interesting novel, however, it was also very easy to put down for some time and then pick it back up. I don't know if I was excited for the ending because it was interesting and sweet at times, or because I was more happy that the novel was finally done. I feel like this series could be continued and I feel like it may be from now Jason's point of view and his love interest, I likely would not pick it up though. The first two novels were wonderful, exciting and I just blew through them. This one lost its steam in the series.
ARC review
3.5 ⭐️ for Hunted by Bella Higgin
Before I read this 3rd installment of the Belle Morte series, I first had to catch up with the first 2 books. In this series Vampires have revealed themselves to the world and are treated like celebrities. They are rich and famous, and have a willing blood donor system. The donors receive a lavish lifestyle in return for their blood.
This series gives all the nostalgia feels of the vampire books of the early 2010s. It’s got ancient vamps falling in love with 18 year olds. It’s insta-love and a bit immature, but honestly I found it fun to reminisce.
In this 3rd installment there is tension between vampires and the human world that was set in motion by a couple of bad vamps in the previous books. This book follows Roux and Ludovic as they track down the freshly turned vampires causing trouble in the human world.
Of the 3 books this was my favorite. I loved that it followed Roux and Ludovic and that it took place outside of the Belle Morte house. Re-introducing the stubborn old fashioned vampires to the modern world was fun. I do think too much time was spent in the characters heads doubting their feelings. A few cringe scenes had me experiencing 2nd hand embarrassment. The pace and action in this book was great. I loved the introduction of the new tension/problems between vampires and humans. I do think I’ll be seeing where the rest of the series goes. Hunted is out now!
Thank you Netgalley and Wattpad Webtoon Book Group for the opportunity to read this book.
Maybe I was in the mood for vampires, or perhaps this was simply better than I anticipated, but I had a lot of fun with Hunted. It's a fun, fast-paced vampire fantasy. I enjoyed the character dynamics, and I thought the plot was really entertaining. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for more YA vampire novels.
As someone who grew up loving twilight, I'm really digging this whole new take on a vampire story. It's vibrant and modern and has lots of compelling new storylines. I really appreciated the main characters realistic take on things and the build up. A very fun third installment!
Book three in the "Belle Morte" series branches off to the storyline of Roux and Ludovic. Which was a pleasant surprise. Roux is a lot more likeable and relatable than Renie. Definitely a slow burn romance, also kind of refreshing given how quickly Renie and Edmond decided eachother were their moon and stars. The whole police aspect was interesting as well.
Would recommend.
Many thanks to Netgalley, Wattpad Books and Bella Higgin for a copy of the book. All opinions are of my own.
Thank you to Wattpadbooks and Bella Higgins for the e-arc in exchange for a review. I have adored the Belle Morte series thus far! This third installment felt disconnected from the first two, in part because this one focused on Roux and Ludovic’s relationship. Honestly, the quickness of their relationship development didn’t really feel any faster than Renie’s and Edmonds. This story was following up on the main plot that’s been unfolding which was great, it was difficult to come back to the plot with two different characters, honestly. I really struggled to be immersed into the story the same way I had been with Renie and Edmond which was a bit of a bummer. The main plot, however, was truly, just as intense and twisty as the first two books. I’m still really intrigued to see where the series will go! Maybe it was just me at this time and my mood reading, honestly!
3.5 stars

Hunted by Bella Higgen is book 3 in her Belle Morte series, but it can be read as a stand-alone. It is a vampire romance, fantasy, and thriller all packed together.
Premise:
This story follows a human named Roux and a vampire named Ludovic from the Belle Morte vampire mansion as they work together to hunt down a group of renegade vampires. Ludovic has the strength to battle the new vampires, but needs the help of Roux to navigate the modern world. As they work to bring the vampires to justice they learn what it means to lean on each other.
This book has a lot of mature themes in it including instances of violence and open-door romance. You may also want to check trigger warnings before going into this book.
My Thoughts:
This book is marketed as a book that is the third in a series but can be read as a stand-alone. I have not read the first two books in this series and felt that I had no problem following along with the plot or understanding the characters.
I love the romance between the two main characters. I felt their personalities complemented each other. I enjoyed seeing Ludovic’s character development. I love the tropes that are found in this book. The plot moves at a medium pace. I feel like this book is great for those who like urban fantasy, romance, and thrillers.
I felt like this book could have been edited down at parts, especially early on, that seemed to get repetitive and could be removed without damaging the plot at all. I also was bothered at times with Roux’s choices and her as a character. I liked her for the most part, but there were a number of instances that really bothered me.
Overall, this book is a 3.5 star for me, but I’ll round up to make it a 4 star.
Three book in the Belle Morte world follows on from the plot of what transpired from the first two books but from Roux and Ludovic's POV.
I really enjoyed this. Bella Higgin's writing just reads so easily and quick.
Its really nice that the plot continued but giving us a different prospective of some side characters. I enjoyed the journey into the modern world and their hunt. There was a lot of forced proximity, with the one bed trope, and the im stronger and i need to protect you trope.
I feel there could be a sequel based on the events that transpired, and thats for sure going to follow our last human of the group.
Predictable romance, but still so good. Excited for the next book.
Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for an eARC of this book.
Ludovic's journey from seclusion, with the help of Roux's streetwise savvy, resonated with me. Their quest to save their world ignited an unexpected and intense romance, which was heartwarming. Their battle against rogue vampires tested their resolve and strengthened their connection. Higgins' ability to weave suspense, action, and romance into a coherent story was impressive. The character development, especially Ludovic's, was a highlight, making their battles as engaging as their physical ones. This installment was a fantastic blend of fantasy and emotional depth, leaving me eager for more.
I did not realize this was part of a series, so I will change/fix this review when I have read the ones that come before this first.
