Fast-paced, easy, and engaging read. The banter and tension between Truly and Colin made the book unputdownable. A genuine fun read, with conversations of love and the complexity of relationships that hit on an emotional personal level. I do think I would have enjoyed this book being a dual POV and seeing love and the complexities of the relationships in Colin’s life. A true comparison of the romance novelist (Truly) and realist divorce lawyer (Colin) perspectives.

Thank you NetGalley as well as Avon and Harper Voyager for the advanced copy of Truly, Madly, Deeply in exchange for my honest review.

as a fan of the author's previous books, this was one of my most anticipated releases for 2024, and it didn't disappoint! i enjoyed truly and colin's banter, though it seemed like they were meant to be slight 'enemies to lovers' but the mutual attraction and feelings came too fast for the trope to work.

colin was a 10/10 book boyfriend. truly on the other hand irked me a bit; she seemed childish at times and stubborn, but not enough to ruin the book. i can see why she acted the way she did, but she never seemed to learn from her actions. however i did like her sass and how she matched colin's humor and banter.

overall, i would recommend this book! i loved the bi representation from both characters and how they each shared their experience with what it was like to come out, and dealing with judgement from others and their internal struggles. i was happy the tension didn't die down after they get together as it often can when the characters tease and banter a lot in the build up. there were a handful of spicy scenes if that's your thing. i think they worked well together and seeing them stick by each other during difficult situations was sweet.

big thanks to netgalley & avon and harper voyager for the arc in exchange for my honest review!

Perhaps a better read for someone else. I found the banter between the characters enjoyable, but lacking since a lot of it was done via text. It just doesn’t hit the same as if the characters were in person. And while they may be a more realistic way to begin a relationship/friendship with someone, for me, I don’t love it in book form. I like my fiction to be fiction and don’t need as much modern realism. I also found it a bit repetitive. Overall, just not the read for me.

Thanks to NetGalley and Avon for sending me an ARC of Truly, Madly, Deeply in exchange for an honest review.

Truly Livingston is the bestselling author of over a dozen queer, historical romance novels. She considers herself a romantic, but her faith in love has been rocked because she just broke up with her cheating fiancé and then learned her parents are going through a trial separation after thirty years of marriage. She’s definitely not in the right headspace to start recording a relationship advice podcast series with Colin McCory, a divorce lawyer—excuse me, a family attorney—who’s a realist about love and relationships. But Colin is fun to talk to and flirt with, and “[h]e’s so pretty it pisses [her] off,” so she agrees first to work with him on the podcast with him and then to start going out with him. Colin makes her happy, and seems to be completely smitten with her, but can Truly trust her rapidly growing feelings for Colin when she’s not sure she still believes in love?

I really enjoyed Alexandria Bellefleur’s Written in the Stars trilogy, so I was very excited to read Truly, Madly, Deeply. This book has a different feel than those books, primarily because rather than alternating between the perspectives of the two main characters, it is told exclusively from Truly’s point of view. Truly’s an interesting character who’s going through a lot, so her perspective isn’t a bad place to be. Not seeing the story from Colin’s side left him seeming a little bit one-dimensional, respectfully pursuing Truly without doubts or questions. Still, Truly and Colin have believable chemistry and good banter throughout. The evolution of their relationship is entertaining, even if it did require one fairly large coincidence and Truly making two different basic errors (though hilarious) with technology.

Truly, Madly, Deeply is an interesting exploration of a straight-presenting relationship between two queer people. I enjoyed the whole Parent Trap subplot. I liked Colin’s sister Caitlin and Truly’s best friend Lulu, and I won’t be sorry if it turns out that this book was the first in a new trilogy that focuses on the two of them in future novels. Another solid, steamy rom-com from Alexandria Bellefleur, who may or may not have been her own inspiration for Truly’s character. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. Recommended.

Devoured this in one sitting and I don't think I even blinked. The banter, the tension and the spice was absolute perfection. This is a must read romance!!

When I first saw the cover of this book and read the title I can’t say I was too excited. While it looks like another typical romance, I am happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised and WRONG. This book is a quick, intriguing, and deliciously spicy book.

The main character, Truly is down to earth, familiar, and relatable. Her love interest Colin is a literal dream.

My qualms with this book is that it was too short. I was left wanting more; more of Truly and Colin’s story, more of Colin’s back story, and more spice between the two because wow do they have chemistry. I am always a huge fan of the male “simp” and wanted to see more of this along with possible “kinks.” Some side characters seemed like an afterthought and their presence or lack there of was something I wondered about while reading.

Overall, this book is an easy, intriguing read. Its storyline, characters, spice and romance are factors that will keep the reader hooked.

TRULY, MADLY, DEEPLY was such an amazing book and it solidified Alexandria Bellefleur as a new auto-buy author for me! The book follows Truly, a romance author, as she navigates being newly single, her parents separating, and the very annoying divorce lawyer she’s doing a podcast series with… 😏

I loved this book for so, SO many reasons. It was one I wanted to pick back up again as soon as I reached the end. It made me laugh and cry. I was rooting so hard for the characters at every turn. I literally read it all in one sitting—it was just that incredible.

The story was also unapologetically queer 🏳️‍🌈 Truly and Colin are both bi, and there’s a lot of discussion around bi erasure in media and how relationships are queer if there’s any amount of queerness in them—yes, even if the couple is male/female! As a bi person in a very hetero-looking relationship, this was really important aspect of the book to me.

Not to mention, the spice? 👀 Oh yeah. Very spicy. In the absolute best way. Get you a man who worships you the way Colin worships Truly—that’s all I’m gonna say there, haha.

This book was absolutely 5 stars for me. I can’t wait to go and read everything else the author has written now! Make sure you add TRULY, MADLY, DEEPLY to your tbr. It comes out on April 30!

Huge thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the digital arc copy 💕

This book had me giggling, hiding my face in secondhand embarrassment, and smiling so big my cheeks hurt.

Truly is a romance novelist and believer in true love, while Colin is a divorce lawyer and a realist. The two meet as opposing viewpoints on his sister’s podcast, and their banter goes from angry and tense to flirty as they get to know one another.

This one is STEAMY, with all kinds of adventurous spicy scenes. The chemistry between Colin and Truly is obvious, and so is their connection. Their conversations are meaningful, particularly the ones about their families and the one they have about bi-erasure, as both characters are bisexual. Their families could not be more different and made for some interesting scenes.

I laughed out loud so many times reading this, especially at the texts sent between Truly and her best friend and at the ridiculously embarrassing things Truly does when her crush is still just a crush. A little Instagram stalking and drunken texting is almost a rite of passage in your 20s, and Truly is right in the middle of it all!

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Does Alexandria Bellefleur have a fan club? If so, can I be the president?

I loved this book. Truly, so adorable and Alexandria’s writing is flawless. A couple things here and there I didn’t 100% love, but overall, I loved this book and will be SCREECHING about it forever.

I haven’t laughed that hard reading a book in a long time, seriously. I loved that their relationship was very organic in its development. The spice was on point. I only wish the 2nd half had more Lulu and Caitie! They were SO funny and really added to the first half of the book. Overall a super fun, easy read. Definitely recommend!

Wow wow wow Alexandria really hit it out of the park with this one! This book is definitely her best work yet. I mean the banter in this one is too notch. Like you will be laughing and smiling along as you read because their energy is infectious, it leaps off the page. Speaking of their energy, this book is hot af. The spice really delivers because Truly and Colin are so supportive and deeply care for one another. My man Colin?! A sap, so kind but teasing, so patient but assertive. Kenergy all around. Truly is such a brave soul trying to be vulnerable despite her fears. I just adore these two individually and for each other. Honorable mention to Lulu (give our girl a book!) and the podcasting scenes. Everyone absolutely needs to read this book asap, you are missing out if you don’t!

Unfortunately this is a DNF for me. It definitely seems like I'm in the minority here but I can't get with the writing. It feels so cringe to me. Also, the FMC is so immature and acts like a child. Super grating.

This book really had me blushing, giggling, kicking my feet, etc.--which is just about the highest praise I can give it to be honest. To me, a great romance a) has great dialogue (it doesn't have to be of the bantering variety but that's always a bonus) and b) shows us how and why characters fall in love with each other. Truly, Madly, Deeply does that, and then some. The banter was top-notch (it was actually SO cute 😭), the conversations always flowed well, and I just loved the dynamic between Truly and Colin. More than anything, I really appreciated that we got to see their relationship change as they got to know each other more. Second-chance romances and friends-to-lovers are always great, but something about seeing a romance from the very start, when the characters are strangers, is so supremely satisfying to me. The getting-to-know-each-other part, the spending-more-time-with-each-other part, the realizing-that-your-feelings-are-not-platonic part. I just eat it all up!!!!!

Truly, Madly, Deeply is one of those novels whose review wants to be less words and more emojis. So to sum up this review, here are some emojis that encapsulate my experiencing of reading this book: 😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺😳💖💗💞❣️💝

I enjoyed this so much that I ran and ordered this author’s other 3 books.

This book starts out in the most explosive way, and while it’s introspective and character-driven, I never wanted to set it down.

Romance novelist Truly walks in on her fiance with another woman, she receives horrible news from her parents… and then she gets to debate romance, as a romantic, against divorce lawyer Colin for a podcast.
It goes… poorly. (As one might expect!)

Except the viewership is great, the host wants her and Colin back, and Colin is super interested in Truly. The chemistry is there, y’all!

I loved these two. Colin and Truly are both queer, and reading about their experiences was a joy. They are such soulmates — I loved how Colin fell first, and how sweet Truly is even when she wants to be her toughest.

This was just so genuine, from Truly’s theater nerd parents to the delightful spice, to the way this novel simply made me feel. I’ll be rereading this as soon as I can get a physical copy in hand.

So in all- I recommend this as a top romance for this year. And fair warning, if you’re new to this author, you’ll only want to read more of her work.

This was such a fun read. The characters were both larger than life but also so very real. The connection between our two main characters made me believe in love again, so there’s that. I love that both the main characters are bisexual. The conversation about bi-erasure, especially when in a straight-presenting relationship, was great. Colin McCrory is also maybe one of my favorite new book boyfriends. Thighs for days? Sign me up! He’s such a cutie.

There were times when the timeline was a little confusing, but I got over it for the sake of being obsessed with the storyline. This book is also completely millennial-coded but it made me enjoy it even more. I giggled out loud several times because of it. So do with that information what you will. I enjoyed that aspect.

truly truly truly obsessed with this book.
i was hooked IMMEDIATELY!! from page one i was inhaling every word and couldn’t put it down. there was a quote in this book that called truly’s writing “compulsively readable” and that is EXACTLY how i felt reading this!!

the characters were genuinely so! much! fun!! and the banter was top tier!! truly and colin were the perfect amount of enemies to lovers where i was never off-put by the “hatred” and was simply giggling over their chemistry. and let’s talk about it, THE CHEMISTRY! OFF THE CHARTS!! i was NOT expecting this book to be as hotttt as it was (not mad, very pleasantly surprised) but wow wow wow i was literally gasping at multiple points. it was toooo good!

i was a bit worried that truly’s whole cabin weekend getaway plan was going to be a bit much/immature for me but honestly i didn’t mind at all and if anything i really felt for her and was rooting for her by the time it came around.

just loved these characters and their journey together and their growth as individuals!! i loved truly’s parents and their little side journey!! and i lovedddd catie and lulu (i do wish we got more time with them since both were such fun characters and such large parts of truly and colin’s lives)!!

genuinely such a fun and earnest and sparkly and deeply romantic story. just loved it. i already know i’m going to be recommending this constantly come june.

**thank you soo much to NetGalley and Avon for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!!**

Truly, Madly, Deeply by @a.m.bellefleur
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was one of my most anticipated reads this year and I was SO stoked that I got to read an arc! I LOVE LOVE LOVED this book with every fiber of my being. Truly and Colin were so sweet and perfect and tender and SEXY! Colin just on his knees (literally and figuratively) for his girl constantly and that being his happy place!!!! 😅😅😅 Also, Lulu is the BEST (I’m obsessed with her, can we get her her own book???) and Truly’s parents were SO FUN!!! I am shouting from the rooftops: GO READ THIS BOOK! That is all. (It’s so good I’m ordering a physical so I can read it over and over and over!!!)

Thank you to @netgalley and @avonbooks @harpervoyagerus for the arc!

Truly, Madly, Deeply by Alexandria Bellefleur
Truly Livingston is a bestselling romance author whose view on love has been flipped upside down. To make matters worse she's asked on a dating podcast to give her 'romantic' outlook against a realist perspective made by Colin McCory, an extremely hot family lawyer. When Colin crosses a line and she storms out never to return, she was not expecting him to beg her for another chance, or how much she liked it when he begged.

I'd like to start by saying this is not a book I would usually pick up, but I'm glad I did. The moment I met Truly I knew I would love her, her cutting remarks and brutal sarcasm were right up my alley. This review really belongs to Colin. I love the way he handles Truly and how absolutely whipped he is by her at the same time. If this man doesn't give everyone butterflies by the end of the book then I will have truly lost hope in the world. I read this book in one sitting and the plot kept me hooked the entire time, I became invested so quickly in much more than the main relationship. I only have two nitpicks. First, the ending. I felt left hanging for more resolve specifically with Colin. Secondly, the cover, I feel that does not do the book justice.

This book has put Alexandria on my radar as someone who knows how to craft a story that keeps me turning pages. I’d recommend this book to fans of Ali Hazelwood and Sarah Adams who are looking for a little more spice.

Truly Livingston makes a living off of romance. For her, everything in her life should lead to her own great Happily Ever After. But when she catches her fiancee with another woman, she is convinced that her own HEA just isn't in the cards. Enter Colin McCrory, a family lawyer who has worked on enough divorces to see romance through anything but rose colored glasses. Sparks instantly fly when these two are thrown together to record a podcast all about love and relationships. Their differing viewpoints constantly at battle. And when those sparks turn into a a passionate inferno...well...Truly's HEA might not be lost forever.

Truly, Madly, Deeply may just be the best book Alexandria Bellefleur has ever written - and with her catalog of work that is saying something.

The characters are fantastic, fully-formed and real. Even the supporting cast feel like flesh and blood people. The humor and banter is on point, as is the flirtatious bickering between Truly and Colin.

Best things about this book: bisexual representation, those STEAMY scenes, and best of all...NO THIRD ACT BREAK UP!

This was a very sweet love story. I loved both main characters.

I wish it had focused more on the podcast and Truly's name drove me nuts because I kept forgetting it was the name of the main character.
