Alexandria Bellefleur books are bound to be a good time, and TRULY, MADLY, DEEPLY was no different. This was a lighthearted, fluffy read that delivered nice tension and banter.

Thank you Netgalley for providing me an advanced copy of this book. Alexandria Bellefleur has done it again. This book has everything and more. I love Truly and Colin so much. The banter and snark makes them both frustrating and adorable. The spice is top tier. Everything in this book is exactly what I love about Alexandria's writing and then some. If you love a fun, snarky romance this book is for you.

Great cover! I did love that we met both of the main characters by chapter 2. Truly has a lot going on. She has cheating long time partner, trying to resolve the struggle between her parents and she really likes Collin. I enjoyed the journey and I really love Collin as well and that’s a the best part of a good romance.

Thanks to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for an arc of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book was so fun to read. The overarching story keeps you turning the page to see what happens next. Truly and Colin’s, the two main characters, banter — especially when texting — is on point and incredibly fun and funny. To say their relationship starts off on wrong foot is an understatement, but … they get to know each other and grow past it (with apologies and a bit of groveling). It becomes abundantly clear that they care about each other and, with that, stand up for each other. Two characters having each other’s backs is one of the things I love to read most.

This books doesn’t just rely on Truly and Colin. The secondary characters are exactly what they need to be. Especially Truly’s bff Lulu and Colin’s sister Caitlin, who are supportive and snarky all at once. There are plenty of foes, both characters and situations, to keep everyone on their toes.

If you like snappy dialogue, laugh out loud moments, sort of enemies to lovers, love and support between MCs, tons of Taylor Swift references, musical theater fun, and more definitely read this one!

TW: divorce, unsupportive families, cheating

This was such a great read! I am a huge Alexandria Bellefleur fan (I highly recommend her Written in the Stars series), so I knew going into this that it was going to be good. It did not disappoint!

Truly Livingston is a romance author going through all of the things - a cheating ex-fiancé, her parents rocky separation, and an infuriating encounter with Colin McCrory on his sister’s hit podcast. When Colin reaches out for a fresh start (and possibly more podcast episodes), Truly discovers that there’s more to Colin than meets the eye, and that love can sometimes be found in the unlikeliest of places.

Alexandria Bellefleur can truly write. a. book! The banter between Truly and Colin was top tier. There were so many moments I had to pause from reading because I was laughing so hard. The tension and angst between Colin and Truly was chefs kiss. And the cast of supporting characters were a hoot (I loved me some Lulu!). I loved Truly, Madly, Deeply so much and cannot wait to reread it again.

A big thank you to Netgalley and Avon Books for the ARC!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC

This might be my favorite Alexandria Bellefleur novel so far and I'm a little biased because I love Joe Keery, but damn is this book swoony. I really liked Truly and Colin as characters, separate and together, and I felt like they were very well fleshed out. Because of that I didn't hold it against Truly her caution when getting into a new relationship especially after some truly enjoyable verbal sparring between the two of them. I liked Lulu a lot and wish she had been in the book a bit more and I enjoyed getting to see Colin and Truly's family lives as well, which is sometimes unexpected in a romance book.

But Colin. Oh my god, Colin. I love this man and he was seriously one of the best book boyfriends I have read in a long while. This book is ~SPICY~ and that man is now a standard I will hold any romantic partners to, haha. I adore him and I love seeing a man so devoted to someone and willing to do anything and be patient. The plot is fun and I really do hope that we see these two again because I love them so much. I appreciated that this was a bit of a slow burn, ramped up, and we managed to get a nice HEA for everyone.

Can't wait to buy a physical version just so I can stare at Colin, haha.

Another hit from Bellefleur! The two main characters have some of the most fun banter I’ve ever read, and they have such a fun dynamic together. I enjoyed this more than I expected to!! As a lesbian I am always wary to read romances with men, especially smutty ones. But this was very well crafted and I still thought it was hot and steamy!

So I need a cold shower after this one.

And on top of that is so delightfully messy and full of unabashed pining, snark, and intimacy. I worship at the altar of Truly and Colin; two idiots who could not be more perfect for each other.

*4.5

This is my first book by Alexandria Bellefleur and I completely in love. Can’t wait to read all the others, I’m happy that I have so many beautiful books to read.
I love, love, love, LOVE the relationships between the main characters, love the tropes, love the way they interacted with each others.
But I also love the way they are as single characters. I love their journey to become the better versions of themselves.
Really, this book is pure joy, the rep is so amazing, and I felt so seen. Thank you for writing this.

Thanks to Netgalley and Avon for the arc!

Alexandria Bellefleur has done it again! I usually don’t gravitate toward M/F romance novels but given how much I love everything else by Bellefleur I knew I had to read it. It did not disappoint! First off when she said it was possibly her horniest book to date she wasn’t wrong. The chemistry between romance writer Truly and family lawyer Colin is just so GOOD! Truly’s quirky family cracked me up. Truly’s wit and ability to dish it out to Colin was so fun to read. I really just enjoyed everything about it and wished it would have been longer. I want more Truly & Colin.

Thank you, once again, to the publisher and to NetGalley for the eARC!

I can't lie and say that the reason for my interest in this book wasn't the fact that they were literally using Joe Keery's likeness for the love interest. I needed to see what that was all about! And I don't want to say I was disappointed, because can you be disappointed in something you had no expectations for? I went into this without having read any of Bellefleur's previous works, but after reading this book, I'm not sure she's for me. The conversation between characters often felt stilted, forced, and the relationship dynamics...something always felt a little off. One thing I do think she does exceptionally well, however, is build tension. I think I just wish she had given it more time for them to sit in that tension, and then to finally snap.

I do love that Bellefleur prioritizes queerness and writes characters with many different lived experiences of what it means to be queer.

If you enjoy romance and take no issue with anything that I mentioned above, you might like this book! Just because I didn't like the insta-love or the Broadway musical references, doesn't mean it will bother you, too.

Upon laying my eyes on this cover, I knew that I would fall head over heels for this book. Truly, Madly, Deeply is a romantic comedy that simultaneously wraps you in a comforting hug with the sweet scenes and makes you fan your face with the steamy scenes. Truly St. James is the bi rep that put words to how I have been feeling for a majority of my life so I'm glad that my queer heart had the chance to love her. Colin McCrory's humungous heart makes me want to cry because he is always able to extend a caring hand to people, despite his family life and how it has affected him. I typically don't love texting within novels, but something about their banter and Truly making an ass of herself had me giggling and kicking my feet. The steamy scenes? Y'all.... I couldn't get enough. I mean, the desperation was everything!!! I can't. It was too good. At the beginning, I was a little frustrated with how Truly was handling her parent's separation (look in a mirror much?) but by the end of the book, I understood how it was important to her growth as an individual and a partner in her romantic relationships. Overall, this book is a gorgeous work of art that can be cherished. I hold it close to my heart. Embrace every detail of your person that makes you perfectly messy and wonderful. This is a book of healing (whether or not you think you need it) that everyone can benefit from.

Have you ever read a book, and within the first five pages, you know it's gonna be one of your favorites?????  Well, that was this book for me. I am DEVASTATED that I have to wait until APRIL to hold a physical copy of this book in my hands.

I'm actually not sure if I can form coherent thoughts about Truly and Colin and this book. I might need to make a list this time.
•Truly- my ANGEL DARLING I LOVE HER SO MUCH!! I feel for her. I connect with her on a deeply personal level, like terrifyingly so. Her drive to help her parents (who were so freaking funny) was actually so emotional. It made my heart hurt with how realistic the whole situation was. Her growth, albeit slow growth, was nice to see. I love it when characters have development!!
She's so funny and witty, and I JUST LOVE THE BANTER BETWEEN HER AND COLIN. Their chemistry was immaculate from the first interaction they had. I love them so much.
•Colin- MANS IS MAKING HIS WAY TO TOP TIER BOOK BOYFRIENDS. The "until my jaw locks statement????" I GASPED. He's also just so funny and supportive and sweet. And why is he fictional?? He gave the banter back to Truly but also managed to make it hot?? Idk how he did it. There were aspects of their relationship that, normally, I find cringey in a romance novel, but I ATE IT UP in this book. Also, his constant, "I'm a family lawyer." Like just own it, bro, you're a divorce attorney.
•Side Characters - All of the side characters (with the exception of Colin's family) were so fun!! They felt real and developed. We knew more about them than just basic details. I loved Lulu. I highlighted so many of her lines cause she's just that funny. I loved Caitlin. However, I wish she was more involved. She kind of just disappeared after a while. Truly's parents were somewhat frustrating at times but still managed to have their own growth and hand in the plot.

I fear the person I will be become when I get to hold this book in my hands, okk??

ALL IN ALL, this book is TRULY one of my favorites of the year, and it doesn't even come out till NEXT YEAR!!!

"Truly, Madly, Deeply" by Alexandria Bellefleur was a cute and enjoyable read. The book has a beautiful cover, as do all of Bellefleur's other covers.

Both Truly and Colin, the protagonists, were incredibly endearing characters. However, I felt that the story's length could have been condensed without losing its essence, like making it a more concise 200-page read.

This is my first book by Alexandria Bellefleur, but she has shown her ability to write fun, steamy, and well-written books. I can't wait to read what she comes out with next!

I’m forever a fan of this author. I love how nearly all her characters are queer. The sentiment behind bi erasure was poignant and thoughtful. This book was also one of the spiciest I’ve read by this author, exploring some kinks. The banter was top notch, and the coupling slow burn enough to be delicious- nothing physical happens in the first 50% of the book; just playful, witty banter. The lack of a third act breakup is also always refreshing, and I fully appreciated the switch up, though there is a serious uncoupling, it’s not with the MCs.
My only negative is I wish we got more from the sister. I would have loved to see her reaction to Truly and Colin dating.

Thank you netgalley for the arc. My opinions are my own.

This was probably my favorite of Alexandria Bellefleur’s books to date! I devoured it within a day and I wish there was more! The writing was exciting, the characters were cute and the story was captivating to the last page.

Welp, my dearest guys, gals and nonbinary pals: Truly, Madly, Deeply is Alexandria Bellefleur’s best piece of work, to date.

Truly and Colin are so hot my jaw seemed to drop so many times while reading this book. Colin McCrory runs the Truly St. James fan club and he is also the founder and CEO of Truly St. James simp-town!!! Holy smokes their bedroom talk is WILD. Boyyy do I wish someone would speak to me the way these two speak to each other when they go at it. Oh and THEIR BANTER?! It cannot be matched, it’s THAT good. It’s some of the best banter I’ve read in AGES.

Yes, folks, this book is hot with a capital H but it’s also vulnerable and heart wrenching. Truly St. James is just getting out of a really shitty 6 year relationship with a really awful person who she thought she was going to marry. Truly is a romantic. Hell, she is a romance author (very meta)!!! She gets invited to guest star on a podcast to give relationship advice to the podcast’s listeners. Enter: Colin McCrory. Unconventionally-handsome extraordinaire. Truly’s world gets turned upside down by this man during the podcast. He says some rude things to her, but feels awful for it, and it all just snow balls from there.

Colin is READY to beg for Truly. On his knees for her, LITERALLY. Ready to woo her, date her, court her (Colin’s words, not mine). Meanwhile, Truly feels like she can’t handle a new relationship because of her recent breakup and the fact that her parents might now be getting a divorce after 30+ years of marriage. To go from believing in love and romance with your whole heart to swearing off relationships is quite the pendulum swing. Truly tries so many times to get Colin to stop pursuing her because she considers herself a “mess.” The best thing about this is that Colin is patient. He’s really good at making sure that Truly knows that he isn’t going anywhere. In Truly’s eyes, Colin is just too good to be true. She can’t see why Colin wants her so badly, but Colin is determined to make Truly understand her worth.

I love how Colin and Truly push and challenge each other. How they both back each other up when shit hits the fan with their respective families. I love how they love each other. The communication between them is always clear. Colin and Truly really respect each other and they both know what it’s like to be dealt an awful lot in life.

Truly, Madly, Deeply hits all the marks for a wonderful queer romance novel. And YES, it is queer. Both MCs identify as bisexual and/or queer. I am so happy I was able to read this book. It left me feeling hot and bothered but also grinning from ear to ear.

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books (Avon and Harper Voyager) for the eARC in exchange for my review! Truly, Madly, Deeply hits shelves on April 30th, 2024 💖💜💙

Brokenhearted romance novelist Truly St. James makes a guest appearance on a podcast where she meets Colin McCrory, a hopeless romantic divorce attorney with a heart of gold. The two instantly butt heads, but after a few meetings with witty jabs at each other and halfhearted insults the chemistry between the two explodes.

Truly Madly Deeply is a fast paced angsty love story that will keep you on the edge of your seat saying one more page or chapter. Bellefleur’s writing manages to be fun and light while addressing tough topics members of the LGBTQ community face. The main characters are both bi and the story makes a strong point to validate their queer status while not always in a queer presenting relationship.

Unlike Bellefleur’s other novels there is only one POV telling this story. That does take away from any major plot or communication conflicts between the characters. However, it does not take away from being able to enjoy the story.

Other than being a little too short and only having a one sided conflict, Truly Madly Deeply is a wonderful read. The pop culture references along with the meta approach to rom com tropes make for such a fun journey everyone can enjoy.
