This was a cute read, but a little immature for my personal taste. This would be perfect for someone who enjoys YA romance.
A couple in their early 20s, no spice, second chance romance.
Very sweet read! And I loved the chronic illness representation— the way the author packed so much knowledge and education into the story without making it sound like she was rambling was so good.
I normally love a second chance romance, especially in a small town! Unfortunately, this just wasn’t the book for me. I enjoyed parts of it, but I found that chemistry between the characters was lacking and I couldn’t see myself in either of the characters. I found some of the behaviours immature, and I was just hoping for more!
This book was amazing! I love the setting and the characters! I would definitely recommend this book to another romance lover.
Who doesn't like a second chance at love especially in a small town. When Ty returns for the summer Quinn and him are bumping into each other and the tension is there with angst. I also like the representation of chronic illness that was woven in the story. It was a lovely book.

Gilmore Girls meets Sweet Home Alabama in this small-town, second-chance romance. Quinn is hustling to make her dream of owning her own business come true. But first, she'll have to survive a week of hosting her small town's Founder's Festival with her ex.Could Quinn Kelley's summer be more stressful? She's hustling to complete the certification program she needs to launch her own business. She has enough ongoing family drama to keep up with a Kardashian. And, oh yeah, her ex-boyfriend is back in town for the first time in years.Quinn would have been perfectly happy to continue pretending Ty Rossi doesn't exist. But when their mutual friend has a family emergency and has to leave town suddenly, Quinn and Ty are left in charge of their town's Founder's Festival. If they can survive an entire week of co-hosting events without murdering each other, it'll be a miracle. Their tempers ignite like flames set to paper anytime they're together. But the more time she spends with Ty, the more Quinn questions if all those sparks are fueled entirely by hate. This is a swoony, closed-door romantic comedy with Gilmore Girls vibes and a dreamy second-chance romance.

This book is for us swifties
This is what I think of when I think of a fast summer romance read. If you're in the mood for a country summer romance with a bit of banter that also represents a character working to overcome limitations of a (mild, non terminal) medical condition this might be just what you're looking for.
Thank you to the publisher for providing a copy for me to read and review!
This was overall an enjoyable read about two people who missed out on love the first time, and are now forced to work together. Quinn and Ty are exes, who haven't seen each other since they broke up three years ago and suddenly, he returns back to their hometown, one summer.
It has all the angst you'd expect for a second chance romance and I also really liked the chronic illness representation, too, which the FMC experiences. Everything was fine, until the 70% mark; they've just agreed to get back together and literally the next day, Quinn has Ty almost backed into a corner and forced him to admit that his mother was unwell, when he wasn't ready to talk about it.
I get that she had her doubts about trusting him again and not wanting to get hurt, but Ty was also hurt by their breakup, and had respected her wishes at the time, when she asked him to never speak to her again - even if she didn't mean it. Idk, it just felt a bit selfish of her, when it wasn't just her that was affected, but young love, I guess.

This was a really sweet romance, typically aimed for a YA audience. I really enjoyed the premise and focus on chronic illness, a great read.
• Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book •
This book was not really my cup of tea. I think it is targeted for a much younger audience than I am.
With that being said, had I been still in high school, I might have liked it better.
I did not feel the characters were fleshed out really. They read really immature, the guys still pulling pranks and our MFC a bit annoying when it came to her relationship with the MMC.
I did however liked the dynamic between the FMC and her aunt and cousin. I also appreciated that the MMC taking time off from school to help with family trouble.
I do think that a younger audience would like this book.
Never Getting Back Together by Krysti Meyer was a cute sweet second chance romance. This book would be good for teen to early adult age group but I still enjoyed it. This book started out slow but eventually picked up pace. It was a very cute book. I love a good small town second chance romance.
I received an advance review copy from NetGalley for free, and I am leaving my honest review voluntarily.
Cute book. Had small town Hallmark movie vibes. Wish some of the characters were more developed l. Also would have been great if a couple of Quinn's recipes were included somewhere in the book.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this ARC before its published date. Unfortunately, this book just didn't make it for me. While I don't mind hallmark type romance, this was just too slow and I felt no connection to the characters. It might be for someone else, just not me.
Rating : 2.5/5
I had really high hopes for this read from the second I saw “Gilmore Girls meets Sweet Home Alabama” as I’m a HUGE Gilmore Girls fan and thought this would be right up my street. I wasn’t a fan of our main characters, Quinn and Ty as they came across very childish and immature. I feel the audience is more aimed towards 16-18 years and may be the reason why I didn’t connect with the characters.
I did enjoy the small town romance feel this book has. This is definitely the main similarity for me to Gilmore Girls as it had a Stars Hollow feel to it.
This was cute and fun. I wasn't expecting any type of vibes from it... but it felt like a small town hallmark rom com. I enjoyed this book.
I had the pleasure of reading NGBT thanks to @netgalley!

This was a great way to end my year of reading, with a small town, second chance romance worthy of a TV movie 🎬
We follow Quinn and Ty, whose childhood love ended badly. But when they meet again, years later, both realise that they are not immune to each other's charms. Between reunions, misunderstandings and secrets, Quinn and Ty will have to overcome their past to find each other again!
This is a beautiful romantic comedy, which deals as much with family and community as it does with illness and helping each other. It's sweet, light and a super easy read 🥰

SUMMARY:
Quinn would have been perfectly happy to pretend her ex-boyfriend Ty Rossi didn't exist. But when their mutual friend has a family emergency and has to leave town suddenly, Quinn and Ty find themselves in charge of their town's Founders Festival.
If they can survive a whole week of co-organising events without murdering each other, it will be a miracle. Their tempers flare whenever they're together. But the more time she spends with Ty, the more Quinn wonders if all those sparks aren't fuelled entirely by hatred.
Some of the aspects I enjoyed within the book was the positive representation of chronic illness and the premise that initially sounded charming. I enjoyed my time with this story, but I wasn't particularly fond of the characters and I would say that it is the sort of story you may appreciate more if you are younger. I am in my early twenties so personally, I didn't really connect with the characters and while I could understand their appeal, the female main character came across as quite childish, making it challenging to connect with her perspective. In additiona, I didn't personally like the male love interest as I found him to be quite lacking in depth, and the overall chemistry between the characters also felt lacking, with the reasons for their breakup not being fully explored. Despite this, I did appreciate the story for what it was, and it was a good read.
Imagine you are temporarily in charge of the End of Summer Madness Festival in Stars Hollow and you have to team up with your ex-boyfriend whom you despise. All the while trying to finish a certification program and launch your own business. This book bring the small town charm in spades. If you are a lover of Gilmore Girls, I think this book is for you.
Quinn struggles with a chronic illness that effects every aspect of her life, especially the food she intakes. She is looking to start her own business helping others make food plans and learn different swaps for recipes i.e. gluten and dairy free. While trying to complete all of that, she volunteers to help run her small town's Founder's Festival with the help of her ex-boyfriend, who is back home for the summer. Quinn can't stand Ty Rossi and wants nothing to do with him and his pranks. And as the title of the book suggests Quinn and Ty are NEVER getting back together, but maybe Quinn has is all wrong.
This book was a fun read, it kept me interested enough to keep reading it and there was for sure some highlighter worthy moments. This was a closed door romance with no spice which was fine. I always prefer spice in my romance but this one kept my interest. I am glad that I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I would not have found this book other wise and I think the Author did a really good job of representing a chronic illness she herself has and struggles with.
I wanted a light-hearted story when I chose Never Getting Back Together. I almost didn't finish the book because the MFC was so immature and childish and stuck in her own head that it irritated me. Part of the story line is how she lives with an uncommon and debilitating health issue that leads her to want a career in nutrition counseling. she doesn't seem as interested in how she can help as in how she can benefit.
The idea two people just out of high school could go three long years after without communicating yet remain in love to the exclusion of any other relationships in unbelievable. Ty goes off to UCLA and exercises to remain loyal to the girl back home who he thinks and believes made it clear she wants nothing more to do with him? I seriously doubt it. Quinn's refusal to give him a break when he comes home, to trust at all even as she learns she was wrong, is a red flag most guys would walk away from in a heartbeat - even in a romance. It seemed both characters were stuck in a holding pattern over three years until they came back together in this story. If they'd had some experiences that led them back together and to the rediscovery of each other I would have found it more believable.
Thank You Kristi Meyer for the ARC in exhchange for a review.
I heard Gilmore Girls like small town rom com and said sign me up!!! But this book honestly fell flat for me.
I thought Rosedale was such a cute small town and was similar to Stars Hollow with the summer fest!
I liked the main character, Quinn, and thought that her subplots were more interesting than the actual romance. I thought that Ty was a mediocre love interest and that there was little to no chemistry between the two. I needed more tension and scenes with just the two of them.
I received an advanced copy of this book to read and review :)
Right from the beginning this book gives off strong Gilmore Girl vibes. It was easy to get sucked in and a sweet, fun read.
There were some things I felt were brought up as being important but then there wasn’t really a clear resolution.
Overall I would definitely recommend.
