This book was an absolute blast! Oh wow, Bailey and Evie and Griff and Sawyer are so much fun, and I loved every second of reading this book.
The mystery itself was very well plotted and executed and kept me guessing until the final clue was revealed. I really enjoyed how we got to delve into the backstories of the secondary characters as well. Definitely already looking forward to the next installment of this story!

This was a really fun read. I love the community that the author has created. I really like Bailey, her adorable daughter Daisy, Grandma Bee and the great aunts, the Hive, and of course, the handsome sheriff and Bailey's teenage love Saywer. The rest of the town is also filled with interesting characters, a sense of community, and, of course, a love of bees and honey. In this book everyone is focused on the Festival that revolves around honey and bees, the ladies are very excited that a talk show host from California has agreed to be the Master of Ceremonies for the Honey Bee Bake Off. With Evie participating, everyone is glued to the event. When it turns out Rex the MC is something of a sleeze bag, it's not surprising that someone has had enough and knocks him off with a mixer. Unfortunately, he and Evie had a rather large and public disagreement, and her braclet is found clutched in his hand. You know Bailey's not going to let her best friend go down in flames, so the hunt is on. You will want to be around for this investigation! A thanks to #NetGalley and #CrookedLaneBooks for a chance to check this out.

I gave Kill or Bee Killed by Jennie Marts 5 stars

The small town of Humble Hills, Colorado, is abuzz with excitement over the upcoming annual Bee Festival, sponsored by Bailey’s Granny Bee and the Honeybuzz Mountain Ranch. The long weekend of festivities includes a beauty pageant, beekeeping demonstrations, a local restaurant bake-off, and a 3K Bear Run where all the participants are dressed as bears. The bake-off brings in a television crew from California to film, so it’s the most drama-filled part of the weekend, especially when the famous celebrity host winds up dead.

Because the celebrity was holding her bracelet and had been witnessed having an altercation with Bailey’s best friend Evie shortly before his death, everyone suspects Evie of the murder–and Bailey is quickly on the hunt for clues to clear Evie’s name, alongside Granny Bee and her bunch of geriatric misfit friends. Bailey’s potential new honey, Sheriff Sawyer Dunn, is none too pleased to have Bailey buzzing around the investigation, but Bailey’s determined to uncover the truth, rescue her grannie’s beloved Bee Festival, and save her bestie.

-------- REVIEW --------

I have been patiently waiting for this sequel since I finished book one in the series. And what a sequel! It has everything I wanted, romance, all the fun characters we got to meet in the first book and a honey festival with a baking/cooking competition like The Great British Bake Off.

It was a really good mystery, and the background was also very emotional to read about. I didn't figure out whodunit and the ending had my biting my nails. Also, let's talk about the cover. It is so gorgeous!

Now I have to wait one more year until I can read the third book, nooo!! I highly recommend both books in this A Bee Keeping Mystery series.

This book comes out 4 June

Thank you, NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

If you like your cozy mysteries with fun characters and humor, this is the book for you. Bailey Briggs is a successful mystery writer and the situations she and her best friend and sleuthing buddy Evie get into are frequently laugh out loud hilarious to visualize. I won't spoil things for you but will note that water seems to play a role rather often as the plot progresses. In addition to being a writer and sleuth, Bailey is a mom and her relationship with daughter Daisy grabs my attention every time, as does her long-time love for Sawyer, never mind that as a detective he is constantly warning her to stay safe and out of his investigations. I bet you know how well that goes over.

This installment in this relatively young series focuses on bullying and how different people respond to it. My hunch is that you're not going to waste much time feeling sorry for the murder victims. Well, maybe you'll feel a twinge of temporary sorrow for one but, well, you'll seen why I use the word temporary. There is more than one side to the various stories and, to be oblique, it's complex, especially for a story that starts out seeming to be about a competitive bake-off in the small town of Humble Hills, Colorado. Will Evie win? How does Sawyer always seem to be on the spot to rescue Bailey (and usually Evie) from some hijinx they've gotten themselves into? Do all morticians have a wicked quirky sense of humor? Would you dress up as a bear for a 3K Bear Run? What creates a bully? How far would you go to get even?

And, whoa, how the heck do Daisy and Bailey both wind up in the hospital? Oh, come on. You knew Bailey would find herself in danger, so that's not really a spoiler. And, speaking of Daisy, who.....oh, never mind. No more teasers. Just kick back, enjoy the quirky characters, humor, and budding romances, not to mention adorable dogs. Thanks #NetGalley and #CrookedLaneBooks for inviting me to the Bee Festival. I'll note that you'll learn a bit about bees and bee keeping as you read, too, while the end recipes will have you heading in search of a sweet treat. With honey maybe?

I was intrigued by the whole honey and beekeeping concept and was looking forward to this series that felt fresh and out of the ordinary in the genre. Sadly, after going through the first 2 installments I'm left with a similar feeling: it was a let down. I think it felt a bit too cluttered for me to enjoy it and fully immerse myself into it.

This was a cute follow up (2nd book in series) where we get to know the characters more in depth. There are 2 murders in this book, which was a nice add.

Favorite Character: Doc He is quite funny, and the dad jokes in this book were very funny

I hope the series continues, because we all really need to know who Daisy's dad is!

This is the first book I have read from this author. I really enjoyed it but it kept alluding to things that have happened in the previous book. I decided to go back and read the first book before I finished this one. I think you can read this book without reading the first but it made it more enjoyable. Wonderful mystery and characters some laugh out loud moments. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Bailey was stumped when her best friend Evie became the number one suspect in the murder mystery. She refused to believe it and set about finding the killer. Her investigation led her deep into the victim’s past, unearthing hidden secrets. It was very entertaining, exciting, intriguing, and captivating.

This is an excellent cozy! The second in the A Bee Keeping mystery series. Engaging characters, strong story plot and a smooth pace mystery make this read such fun. You will be kept guessing as who done the crime. I want more of this series! Thanks #Netgalley and #CrookedLaneBooks for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.

This is a charming engaging cozy mystery that is second in the " Bee Keeping Mystery Series." We return to Bailey in a small town in Colorado who is a mystery writer. She has a daughter and is close with her Grandmother Bee . Her Grandmother is joining in a town festival when a murder occurs of a visiting celebrity. Bailey's best friend is suspected and Bailey is on the case with Grandma and her friends to clear her name,
The sleuth was well crafted to conclusion and I did not guess the suspect. I enjoyed the build up of the sleuth and how the author created red herrrings and clues along the way,. All the characters are a perfect fit to the series and a romance is included with a possible future in the next book. This is a wonderfully fun cozy series with great sleuth, interesting characters and a perfect small town setting. I look forward to the next in series.,

Thank you to the publisher, Net Galley and the author for the opportunity.,

Kill or Bee Killed is the second book in the series A Bee Keeping Mystery.
Bailey Briggs and Daisy, her daughter, are busy helping her grandmother get ready for the bee festival in Humble Hills, Colorado. The whole town is excited about this festival. This festival is sponsored by Bailey’s Granny Bee and the Honeybuzz Mountain Ranch.
I enjoy every character in this series and this book has so much packed into the story that turning the pages as I was reading to find out who committed the murder and why is so fun to solve the murder. I was stumped several times when I thought I had it solved but the twists and turns were tossed in and only made the book better as I read it.
Thank you NetGalley, Jennie Marts and Crooked Lane Books for the ARC of Kill or Bee Killed. This is my personal review.

Great cozy mystery if you're a fan. Cute characters and a great story. Bailey, Granny Bee and the whole crew are back to solve another murder. This time it's the celebrity host of the Bake Off who was seen arguing with Bailey's bestie before his death. The whole crew springs into the investigation much to the dismay of the sherrif who has warned Bailey not to interfer. Who was the celebrity host really and who wanted him dead?

The second outing for Bailey Briggs and the Bee Keeping Mystery series finds Bailey, a well-known mystery novelist, and her bestie Evie and daughter Daisy working on another murder during the town's Bee Festival. The sheriff and Bailey are getting closer, but Daisy's father is still a mystery to all. The mystery is a better one this time, but I still did not figure out the killer. Thanks to NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for providing an ARC.

They say you get more flies with honey, but in this case, more honey may mean you end up dead.

#killorbeekilled is the second book in the #beekeepingmystery series. This series is less cozy than most cozy mysteries and this book is no exception. Granny Bee, the hive, Daisy, Sawyer and Griff all return only this time Baileys Bestie is the only in bee-ig trouble! I love Evie and having her be the murder suspect was kind of hilarious. We get a lot more background on the characters and it was a bit heartbreaking. I’m really enjoying this series even though so far the killers have been very easy to guess! I’d recommend as a nice beach read this summer!

Bailey is participating in the Bee Festival her Granny Bee runs. With a cook off, a 3K Bear run and tons of activities going on, Bailey not only has many tasks to help things run smoothly, but she has the biggest job of all…supporting her BFF in the Bake Off.

When the celebrity host of the cook off is murdered, he’s found holding the bracelet of Bailie’s BFF, Evie, who had a bad interaction with the man earlier. With Evie as a prime suspect, Bailey adds sleuthing to her list of things to do and Granny Bee and her gal pals join in the fray to help find out who dunit and clear Evie’s name.

I didn’t read the first entry in this series and I had no rouble reading this one, so it reads fine as a stand alone…grab it and settle in for a fun and charming cozy mystery. You’ll be grabbing the first entry in the series afterwards, just like I did.

Kill or Bee.Killed is the 2nd book in A Bee Keeping Mystery series and it is really good. The characters are very likeable, it has a god pace and the cozy mystery kept me guessing. If you want a cozy mystery with an exciting ending, this book is for you! Bailey Briggs is back in Humble Hills, CO with her 12 year old daughter Daisy. Bailey is a mystery writer and of course all of the things that happen are going to be used in her next book. Bailey's Grandma, Granny Bee, is involved.with the Bee Festival and Bailey, and Daisy are helping along with Bee's sisters Marigold and Aster. The sisters are fun characters. Bailey's best friend is Evie who is dating Griffin, a PI. Bailey is dating Detective Sawyer Dunn, her high school boyfriend. A celebrity, Rex Rafferty, is in town for the festival and is going to emcee the bake-off. Evie is a contestant. Rex isn't liked and causes some problems. There is a death at the festival and Evie is a suspect. Bailey and Evie are poking around and asking questions and as is typical, put themselves in difficult situations especially at the end. There is a lot going on. A main topic is bullying. The characters, relationships, humor, and romances make this such an enjoyable cozy mystery! I have read both books and they continues to unfold in an enjoyable story. #KillOrBeeKilled #ABeeKeepingMystery #NetGalley #CrookedLaneBooks

When a boorish television star is murdered at her granny's festival, author Bailey Briggs uncovers blackmail, greed, and lust beneath her town's idyllic image. When her friend Evie becomes a primary suspect in the man's murder, Bailey will stop at nothing to prove her innocence.

I enjoyed the characters, humor, and fast=paced plot in this cozy mystery. There are several funny scenes involving Bailey and her friend Evie, as well as her great-aunts as they compete in the festival pageant. The mystery has some complexity, too, with lots of suspects, motives, and misdirection.

The information on beekeeping and the Colorado Rockies setting added to the appeal.

Thank you to NetGalley, Crooked Lane Books, and author Jennie Marts for an advanced copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
