This was so refreshing and different, I loved it. A solid 4.5 stars if that was an option. I see people mentioning they didn’t understand the inclusion of book passages but I enjoyed them. The internet is a scary, scary place!

Robyn Harding has written a new book just as good as The Drowning Woman (which was great). However, The Haters was a nerve wracking read for me. The characters were made up from the author’s fantastic imagination, but I felt anxious about the unfair situations taking place. While this was not a relaxing read for me, it is indeed a well written piece of fiction sure to please Robyn Harding’s fans.

I love me some Robyn Hardjng but this one fell flat for me. I was gripped at first but a little past the middle I was really bored and found myself not caring about how it was all going to end.

I thought the premise seemed timely and I liked how Camryn had to keep her day job after publishing her book. I thought the backlash at her job made sense. I think it would have made more sense coming from a parent vs children but I can see how people would be worried she was mining the students for details for her book even if most authors would never do that.

I didn’t think the chapters from her “book” flowed in the novel. They were long and until the end had no real connection to the plot.

I also thought it was weird that while Camryn seemed perfectly pleasant if commitment phobic, no one in her life seemed to like her at all or were honest with her. Not her longtime best friend or her husband, not her ex husband, his new wife or her own child, not her coworkers or bosses or ex writing group members. No one liked her or confided in her at all. Why? Surely if she wasn’t a monster someone in her life would like her and tell her basic things like “hey, I met a member of your writing group today!”. But no, no one in her life seemed to like her more than they would a stranger. I was hoping in the end that
she would just run away and tell no one where she was and start over. She did have a stalker but it really wasn’t her fault exactly why they wanted to destroy her life. So why did everyone hate her? Or at best, be indifferent to her?

I loved The Drowning Woman and could not have been more excited to read this book. It did not disappoint. WOW!! Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to enjoy this ARC!

Robyn Harding has a gift when it comes to exploring social issues and presenting them to us in an engaging, unputdownable manner. The Haters is no exception. Within the story, she explores the world of teen bullying, and online harassment turned deadly.
Camryn Lane is a guidance counsellor turn author who is facing intense scrutiny from the public regarding her first book Burnt Orchid. She is accused of using her experiences as a guidance counsellor for content for her book, an accusation which she vehemently denies. At the same time, she is dealing with 'mean girls' and a horrible incident within at the school. Camryn tries to dig deeper into the incident but no one is talking and at the same time, the online hate towards her book and her is escalating.
The book concludes with a surprising climax that will keep readers on the edge of their seat wondering what really happened and who is behind everything....

Well this was (painfully) relatable—and definitely a book any author will appreciate! I love the way Harding tackled this subject matter…the suspense was spot on and kept me turning pages and this cover is 👌🏼!

The author tackled a very timely topic effortlessly, with the fear and panic Camryn felt pulsating from each page. Every single person in her orbit was either a suspect, and her desperation to find the source was tangible. Cancel culture, doxing, and review bombing are just a few ugly things infecting the book community lately. Harding's book lends humanity to these issues, reminding us that there is a person on the receiving end of this contemptible behavior. This one may be one of my new favorites in competition with The drowning man.

I recently finished "The Haters" by the author of "The Party" and "The Drowning Woman." It's a story that delves into fame, obsession, and the murky side of social media. Camryn Lane, who finally achieves her dream of publishing her first novel, faces a nightmare when she receives a disturbing message from an unknown sender. As her book gets flooded with harsh one-star reviews, Camryn is determined to uncover the identity of the mysterious antagonist.

I devoured the book in just a few days, drawn to its unique concept and the intriguing inner story. However, there were moments when the narrative felt prolonged, and I believe it could have been more concise. I found myself frustrated with the main character's naivety and her tendency to direct her anger at the wrong people. Despite these aspects, I gave "The Haters" a three out of five.
I think this book will be well received by many thriller enthusiast.

Another thriller from Robyn Harding that I couldn’t our down. The Haters had me struggling to fall asleep while replaying the story in my mind, a fantastic read.

I'm abnormally concerned about giving this a poor review...for some reason (haha). No, but, outside from the MC being somewhat out of touch, this bends in all the right places and is otherwise satisfying. Bonus points for the author character's work not sucking.

Ohhhh man, I felt so terrible for poor Camryn while reading this book. As humans, we've all been in a situation where we feel like our entire life is crumbling around us, and for Camryn, it actually WAS. Because of a misguided- albeit well-intentioned- confrontation, Cam essentially lost her job, her significant other, her friends, her daughter, and her sanity in one fell swoop. Robyn Harding did an excellent job of making the situation feel dire, scary, hopeless.....claustrophobic, even, at times. I couldn't wait to see if/how the remnants of Camryn's life would be pieced back together. I sort of neglected my laundry and some other chores this weekend to avoid having to put this book down, and I wouldn't be shocked if other readers did the same. If you've ever felt like one silly decision cost you everything.... well, this is definitely one for you.

Accessibility is a double-edged sword for the online community. For readers, it's such a dream come true to communicate so readily with authors we love, and most of the time, the interactions are pleasant, passing on praise and admiration for a new release or eagerly questioning the next highly anticipated release.

However, sometimes these interactions are anything but pleasant, something that Camryn Lane is about to learn. Camryn, a high school guidance counselor, has just written her first novel. After reading The Drowning Woman, I was excited to read this book! Unfortunately, it didn’t really work for me. While it kept me guessing until the end and was an easy read, the plot felt over dramatic and silly.

Very similar to Taylor Adam’s’ latest in that this mystery is about the trolls who leave negative reviews on an author’s book and end up going much too far. Compulsively readable, with a twist I did not predict - I was sure I had it all figured out, but nope!
