The activities and stories in this book proved to be a big hit. There's all kinds of information that will also appeal to children who enjoy nonfiction. The section on well-being and feelings is topical and a nice resource for families. There are quizzes and jokes that entertain and lovely colourful illustrations.

This book has an interesting concept, a “Reader’s Digest for kids”, of sort. Advertised for ages 7-12, it on social and emotional issues like feelings and teasing, but also includes a vast array of material: science lessons, crafts, stories, jokes and riddles, and puzzles and quizzes. Parents may like to provide the book for a child’s own use, or as a read-together activity. It may be of interest or help for homeschooling. It’s evident the book’s authors took great effort with variety and detail. To me, the illustrations seem almost vintage and amateur, but for some that may add to the appeal.
