An engaging dystopian tale that grips you from start to finish. Shilo Niziolek crafts a world full of mystery, survival, and unexpected twists. The characters are well-developed, and the pacing keeps you turning pages. A thrilling read for fans of post-apocalyptic fiction!

Lovely complication of art and stories. Highly recommend for an eclectic mix. I got a PDF file from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review and bought a paper copy. That's a ringing endorsement from me!

Editor Shilo Niziolek has curated a collection of poetry, prose, and artwork that is a choir of voices. Each piece is as carefully selected as a soloist in an opera, showing readers a look into each contributor's imagination. Readers walk through realms of experience and vision. Each piece made me think of wandering a house of many doors, stepping into a new world of thought with the turn of a knob. This is Scavengers 1.2; I am looking forward to 1.3.

I love when a read challenges me by getting me out of my normal reading genres. Scavengers did just that. A kaleidoscopic tour through the minds of so many unique voices and personalities, a cornucopia of topics tackled in different nuanced ways, blended with wonderful artwork in between. This is a lovely introduction to so many new (to me) voices!

This is an eclectic curated collection of art, collage, poems, short essays, short stories, etc. I was attracted to the cover because I love bunnies. I really enjoyed the variety and the creativity that went into this. It is most like a "zine" and some of the art and stories have stuck with me. The author or "curator" is Shilo Niziolek who identifies as a disabled queer writer living in Portland Oregon. This collection does not necessarily need to be read "cover-to-cover' but rather one can easily dive into different pieces at a time. In the back of the book are short biographies of each artist/writer and I really appreciated this so that I could look up other works by them.

Thank you to Netgalley and Querencia Press, Scavengers for an ARC and I voluntarily left this review.

A unique zine-like collection of poetry, prose, short stories, and artwork.

Well put together and a thoroughly interesting read. The diverse cast of authors and artist make this collection truly special.

My favorite pieces are: "Preface" by Alex Rodberg, "self-emasculate tranny wins the arms race, puts an end to all human conflict, etc." by Liam Strong, "Dreaming" by Robin Williams, "solitaire sang" by Emily Ruth Verona, and "Grief is a broken wine glass" by Fortune Simeon Eleojo.

This book got my attention with the co we art. I only realized after it is an anthology of poems and art pieces from various artists. I really enjoyed it! I love books like this because it is a diverse collection of styles vs. a collection one artist. One that really sticks with me is the first one I think the format is really interesting I know there’s a name for that type of poem but I can’t think of now. There’s a really interesting collection in here.

An extraordinary eclectic collection of poetry, stories, musings, essays, and artistic illustrations.
Not your typical poetry, instead, each is a representation of the artist, their amazing gift, and how they engage the world around them.
This collection will push your mind and challenge your viewpoints, possibly even trigger you at times.
