I went into this book having not even read the synopsis on recommendation that I try this author and
WOW! This was an amazing thriller. It was full of twists and turns and I never saw any of them coming. This book is a tangled web of deceit, betrayal and long hidden dark secrets, I don’t want to say too much as it could spoil the enjoyment of this wonderful book, I will say though if I could recommend on thriller it would be this one with it’s fast paced, edge of your seat narrative.
Janie White is returning from a daily swim when disaster strikes and her life changes forever, and she is left in a coma.
20 years later, Robbie, a world famous rock star, pleads guilty to her hit and run
It’s a shocking story full of secrets and lies
So suspenseful with things cropping up right to the very last page
Thanks @jane_corry @penguinukbooks & @netgalley for the gripping read
Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read this book in return for an honest review. I am a big fan of Jane Corry and I always love her books. This one definitely didn’t disappoint. An intriguing, gripping story that kept me guessing throughout. I loved the multiple pov which added so much depth to the characters and story. I found the plot to be really creative and interesting with lots of twists that I didn’t see coming. Highly recommended. 5 stars.
I was a little disappointed with this title. There seemed to be too much going on, too many vague connections between characters. It just didn’t quite work
I’ve loved al of Jane’s previous books so was looking forward to this title, and although I did enjoy reading it, I just felt it was a little too far fetched.
Widow Vanessa, is a volunteer at the courts to support witnesses giving evidence in trials. She has become friends with Judge, one of the judges who works at the courts and has been a great support to many witnesses.
She is contacted by a man, who claims to be her Grandson, which she believes can’t be true as her only daughter died in Childbirth many years ago. Or at least that is what her husband told her.
She is asked to be a volunteer for Janie, a young girl who was left for dead following a hit and run 20 years earlier. Robbie Manning, hero pop star has just been arrested in relation to this accident.
The connections between all these characters just felt contrived.
This was a very complex story and everything was not revealed until the end. Lots of things are gradually ,reavealed changing the aspect of the story. Some great characters and storyline that kept me involved right to the end. Another fascinating Jane Corey read.
18 year old Janie White is cycling home from her daily swim on a local beach when her life changes forever. Twenty years later and nobody has ever been caught for the hit and run which left Janie in a coma with life changing injuries. Suddenly, out of the blue, new evidence suggests that the police finally have their culprit, famous singer and national treasure, Robbie Manning. Is all really as it seems - who is the mystery witness? Vanessa is another voice in the story- recently widowed, her husband Jack was the police officer who investigated Janie's case and it was "the one that got away" and haunted him through his career. Vanessa is a volunteer witness supporter and has become friendly with one of the Judges. He also seems to have something to lose. So many secrets and so many shocks. A great read. #netgalley #IDiedOnATuesday
Once again what a brilliant book.
Kept me hooked from the first page to the last page.
Can't wait for more.

I feel like I’m always chasing the dragon of her first book with this author; so this wasn’t a bad read, in fact, mostly it’s really good read and for a while I thought it might be the one that’s beats her first, but finishing it I just feel really underwhelmed. I felt like I was on edge the whole book waiting for the big reveal or twist and it just never came unfortunately.
I loved how the story was told from multiple and sometimes unreliable perspectives; I was questioning motives, what was going to happen next and how all the pieces could fit together. I found the characters all relatable on some level and felt the appropriate emotions so tick tick tick. But then like I say nothing much did happen next and the things that did happen which were on the edge of becoming exciting petered out before they peaked leaving the storyline flat. In my opinion, it definitely needed the shock factor and a big twist to make all the build up worth it and I felt there was so many areas this could have happened. Instead it had a mediocre reveal of a couple of things which was none too surprising to me or the other characters!
With thanks to the author JC, @penguinukbooks and @netgalley for allowing us to read this one early!

I have enjoyed other Jane Corry books (‘The Lies We Tell’ and ‘We All Have Our Secrets’), but this story seemed to rely on too many co-incidences and unexpected twists to convince me. I did enjoy the story and it had a clever resolution, but I thought some of the plot twists were a little predictable.
I felt sorry for Vanessa, who has the rug pulled out from under her so many times, but she does come across as naïve and unworldly. The characters’ back stories are complex and slowly revealed and I did find it hard at times to keep track of motivations. Judge was a particularly interesting character, and his role grows as the novel develops.
So many victims in this book and not many truly get resolution. A good read, but not my favourite!
I really enjoyed this one at the beginning, I liked the stories interwoven together and I was intrigued by the mystery. However as the story started to unfold more I found myself getting a bit bored of it and the ending just fell flat for me after such a promisin
I died on a Tuesday starts as a deceptively simple plot. Robbie, a famous pop star, is arrested for a driving accident that happened when he was young. A girl called Janie was run over and suffered life changing injuries. The driver was never caught until now. From this premise the book expands to include a seemingly unrelated character, Vanessa, a count witness support volunteer. However, as we begin to find out Janie, Robbie and Vanessa are all interconnected in ways that they and the reader would never guess.
Clever, twisty, a bit far fetched but thoroughly entertaining - definitely a good read by the pool this summer.
what an amazing book! so so emotional - such sadness and badness! I literally couldnt put it down - amazing author amazing book!
This book had me hooked from the start!
Such an interesting concept, and I loved all the intertwining relationships.
It really makes you think about how a split second can change the course of life for so many people.
It was full of drama and secrets, and just when you think everything is out in the open - another secret is revealed.
I highly recommend this book.
I love Jane Corry books and this one is one of her better ones.
Three main characters whose lives are entwined, each with their own story to tell. Some great twists, and just as I thought the they were all tied up, another one came.
Thank you netgalley and the publishers for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
Oh I just love a Jane Corry thriller! This book, just like her other, was so gripping.
There were many subplots here, and I really wondered where the book was going and if/how the different plot lines would link.
I didnt find this book to have as many twists and turns as Corry's previous books, but I was so invested in the characters that I didn't mind. It was my drive for finding out what happened to the characters that kept me reading.
This is a great summer read, and one that you will read super fast as you won't be able to put it down!
Jane Corry always guarantees a great read and this was no exception. So many elements to this story and told from many perspectives. It was pacy yet emotionally intriguing. A real page turner which keeps you engaged throughout.
I really enjoyed this book. The chapter splits between the three main characters made it easy to read and as the book progressed other character chapters were introduced briefly to give other viewpoints and stories which I really liked. This book was full of surprises- I couldn’t second guess it at all and many things were revealed throughout the book.
Janie was a young girl who wouldn’t believe that her mother had left her and taken her own life. She searched for her mother with no luck but she was moving to London for her new job- she thought maybe her mother had gone to London so this would give her an opportunity to search more. Janie’s life changed forever after her daily swim in the sea one day.
Robbie Manning was an internationally famous pop star who lived with his wife and two children. His life took a drastic turn when the police came knocking at his door but Robbie didn’t seem surprised to see them.
Vanessa was a retired store detective who had recently been widowed. She was currently working as a witness support officer in the courts and was enjoying her job.
She was lonely as she and her husband Jack lost their baby straight after she had given birth and they had never been able to have another child. Vanessa felt envious of people she saw with children and grandchildren.
Lots of secrets are uncovered and there are some big surprises in store for most of the characters. A fab read that I would definitely recommend.
Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Once again Jane Corry has written a cracking story .Full of twists and turns ,secrets and lies .Told in the POV of the three main characters ,Janie who was involved in a dreadful accident twenty years ago which caused life changing injuries and left for dead ,Robbie a famous rock star who is accused of running her over and Vanessa who works in the courts .I thought the plot was very interesting and the way all three stories intertwined together, some surprises ,very engaging characters and a great ending. Thank you to NetGalley for my ARC.
I mostly liked this book . Short chapters and no nonsense writing so it was an easy read. Told from different viewpoints, the three main characters' stories gradually came togther. There was a short period half way that it felt a bit too long winded, but the last few chapters were OK again . A lot happened in the last 25% of the book, a couple of events were maybe a little far-fetched and a couple perhaps misplaced and unresolved at the end of the book (Irena?) . An interesting read though and one I would recommend .
Thanks to Net Galley for the ARC
Jane Corry has done it again !
The book is full of twists and turns and kept me hooked from the first page .
The way she writes shouldn’t work but it works perfectly hooking the reader in from the first chapter .
The story is told from the narrative of three main characters Janie a girl who was involved in a car accident , Robbie a famous pop star and Vanessa a volunteer for the witness court service .
They are all so very different people living very different lives but linked by Janie’s accident .
A fantastic read !
Corry always leaves you wanting more!
