I always enjoy books by Jane Corry and this book was no exception, a book I would have no hesitation in recommending

This is a book about three people, their families and an event that happened over 20 years ago. Janie was horribly injured in an accident when she was just 18 years old. Robbie is a world famous rock star adored by all. And Vanessa, a middle aged police officers widow who is a Witness Support Officer at Exeter Crown Court. Told from multiple POV and in dual timelines this is a very tense and exciting read.

Briefly, there was an horrific accident with the perpetrators fleeing the scene believing they had killed Janie. Twenty years later Robbie pleads guilty to the hit and run and all of the ramifications of that day are brought home in a shocking story full of secrets and lies. Is there anyone actually not guilty of something?

A brilliantly written thriller where every time you think everything is out in the open something else crops up right to the last page! The suspense is palpable as the threads of each of the protagonist’s own stories start to interweave and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. A great read I thoroughly enjoyed.

This book is so frustrating. The depiction of a prison is nothing like real modern prisons, but why let reality get in the way of making your main character suffer? Things happen that don't make sense or that wouldn't happen in real life. The characters don't talk like real people. The dialogue is bad. The newspaper headlines don't sound like real newspaper headlines. Everything is overblown and sensational. (See scene where A Bad Man is driving down the road swigging vodka from the bottle and snorting cocaine. There are so many stupid scenes like this throughout the book. There's just no subtlety or realism.) I've read two other Jane Corry books and they've both been like this, so it's clearly just the way she writes. Lots of people seem to love it, but it's not for me.

Best read of the year so far. Many things happening all the way through so keeps you up at night. Thought provoking reading with sadness that really makes you feel for the characters. Well recommended.

Many thanks to Net Galley and Penguin General UK for an ARC of this book in exchange for a review.
This was an easy read, the pages turning effortlessly as the story unfold.
There are three main characters telling their story 20 years later following a tragic accident where Janie almost died, her future forever changed. Janie tells her story alongside Robbie who is a famous rock star and family man. The third person is Vanessa who is a court appointed witness support officer.
Robbie is accused of being the driver of the van that ran over Janie, then drove away leaving her for dead. Is Robbie guilty?
He is finding it tough being in prison awaiting trial.
Vanessa is also struggling with her past, her husband Jack was a policeman and worked the case all those years ago, trying to find the missing driver. Vanessa is also dealing with her own hurts, she uncovers some huge secrets that her husband kept from her.
There is lots of drama, twists and turns, some rather unsavoury characters, it’s a tense but very enjoyable read. Well done to this established author on another successful book which I highly recommend.

A book told mainly from the point of view of three main characters Janie, Robbie and Vanessa. You really get to know these as the book progresses which makes the storyline much more engaging. The pace of the book is good and there are twists and surprises along the way.
The book is not predictable which I like, even when you think it is all over the surprises keep coming.
A good read.

I DIED ON A TUESDAY

Thank you #NetGalley author #JaneCorry and publishers #PenguinGeneralUK for my #eArc copy of #iDiedOnATuesday in exchange for my honest review.

I Died on A Tuesday was an enthralling, multilayered read.
Full of twists and turns, this is a book which is impossible to put down.

A compelling, unpredictable mystery that keeps on giving until the very last page.

Very easy to read, fast-flowing thriller. We meet Vanessa, a loyal widow whose greatest regret in life is that she didn't have children. Her deceased husband investigated a terrible motor accident 20 years prior, where a young woman was left comatose by the road after a van ploughed into her. She now volunteers as a Witness Support officer.
20 years later Robbie Manning, once an extremely popular rock star is the prime suspect - but the case is far from straightforward.
There's lots of interesting backstories in this, which entwine to make a really interesting thriller. Janie, the victim plays a large part as does 'Judge' who oversees the case, and is friends with Vanessa. I did feel a lot of it depended on people having a conscience, maybe I'm too cynical to accept that in the majority of people.
My only gripe would be that I sometimes feel a bit 'spoon-fed’ by Jane Corry - it’s over-explained in parts. Maybe it's just particular characters that might think like that anyway (eg Vanessa seemed a bit 'simple' at times due to this) but on the other hand it does make for very easy, undemanding entertainment which is always welcome. I agree with another reviewer who described it as 'a cosy thriller'.

A disturbing, dark and twisted thriller about a life changing event. I liked the characters of Vanessa and Janie, who were written with compassion. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.

This is another corker by Jane Corry. It has been sitting on my shelf for a while and I now wish I had read it sooner. It’s very well written and the story develops throughout. I really enjoyed the various twists and turns.

Another cracker from Jane Corry! This author really never disappoints.
I mean, this book had some weaker points - the end felt rushed, for example, everything felt seamlessly into place, I personally think that Jack's point of view would add to the story, I would love to hear his view on the things that he has done and can somebody tell me please what it is with the day and its significance? And did I miss how the police found Robbie? - but it hasn't happened in a very, very long time that I've read a book over a weekend because IT. WAS. SO. COMPELLING. AND. ADDICTIVE. There is something in Jane Corry's writing style and the way she tells her stories that keeps you glued to the pages, wanting more and more.

There are plenty of characters in this story and as many subplots but they all fall into place and you will finish this compelling story mostly satisfied. All the dilemmas that each of the characters are facing are well developed and actually, nothing seems straight - forward here. Some of the secrets are really of the hard hitting kind and there are some good twists that I didn't see coming.

Altogether, I really enjoyed this story, it was tense, challenging and thought - provoking, just what I hoped for from Jane Corry.

Janie goes out for an early swim near her childhood home just as she is about to embark on a new chapter of her life in London, when tragedy as she returns home. Twenty years later, famous musician Robbie is not surprised when the police knock on his door, it is like he has been waiting for them all along. Witness support officer Vanessa is about to get her biggest case, but can she stop her personal life distracting her?

Told from all three main character perspectives and looking at past and present storylines, this was a well-plotted and intricate story that came together really well.

This was another brilliant read from Jane Corry.

A well written gripping story with well developed characters and a great plot.

There are three main characters and all their stories are perfectly interwoven from their past right through to their present.

The story is centered around tragedy but it is written so well & really brings home how the past good & bad influences your future.

Another great read from an amazing writer.

Big fan of Jane Corry and I had high hopes for this book after reading her other titles, it certainly didn’t disappoint! Another fantastic plot and beautifully written.

I really loved this book, amazing characters and twists and turns. About a singer who was arrested from an incident from years ago that resulted in a girl being run over and seriously ill……secrets and lies and drama that make you want to keep on reading and devour!

I love it when you get a twist on a genre and I Died on a Tuesday delivers just that. The story is told from three viewpoints, starting with the victim Janie White. She's off to start a new life in London but her journey is cut tragically short by a devastating accident.

Then there's Robbie, the mega famous rock star who is trying to keep his past hidden. Has it finally caught up with him?

Vanessa loves her role as witness support, but will this case be the one to break her.

The story unfolds as we switch between the characters, and you have to keep your eyes peeled for the key developments. I found myself re-reading paragraphs to make sure that the bombshells had really happened (and they had!)

Initially I was drawn in by the title and although there’s a lot happening in this book with various stories intertwined, I felt overall the book was quite slow going and felt overly long. It was predictable in some places and just not one of my favourites. I work rate it 3 stars. Thank you to NetGalley, Penguin and the author for the chance to review.

I Died on a Tuesday by Jane Corry is a gripping thriller told from multiple perspectives, each revealing layers of lies, deception, and hidden truths. The story revolves around a hit-and-run cold case, resurfacing 20 years later with the arrest of a world-famous rockstar. The victim, Janie, the criminal, Robbie, and the protector, Vanessa, each have their secrets and motives.
The plot is filled with twists and turns that kept me hooked, making it a fast and engaging read. The short chapters added to the pace, and the writing style was straightforward and to the point. However, the ending felt a bit rushed and muddled, as if too much was crammed in to wrap it up. Despite this, the book delivered a compelling narrative that prompted reflections on the characters' ethical and moral decisions. While some elements felt farfetched, the story remained intriguing. Overall, I’d recommend it for a quick, easy read.

Very grateful to the publisher for my copy, opinions are my own

First rate thriller as you would expect from this author, no wonder she’s a best seller. This is a real page turner with many different povs and the twists and turns come thick and fast. Absolutely brilliant, you’ll be turning the pages way into the night. Unputdownable!
