This is a fabulous book. Three main characters & a dual timeline weave a complex story surrounding a hit & run.
Janie is knocked off her cycle by a van & left for dead. Robbie may or may not have been driving. Vanessa is a witness support officer to the courts & knows she shouldn’t get personally involved in cases. Twenty years on everything is brought to a head as Robbie admits his guilt. But why now?
Fleshed out characters & a fast pace made this a thoroughly enjoyable read which kept me guessing right to the end.
A great read - I read this in a day and could not put it down.
The characters and their stories were woven together well showing the different tale of what happened the day Janie died.
I was a bit confused with the epilogue, dont want to give a spoiler so wont post why.
I brilliant story careful detailing the complexity of a tragic event.
The author creates an absorbing story that develops from a tragic event. It has good characterisation and has a suspenseful reveal of the characters' secrets. It's told primarily from three viewpoints. Janie is the victim of a hit-and-run accident that devastates her life. Robbie, a rock star, has always struggled with his part in that event and Vanessa, a witness support volunteer whose connections to the event are indirect but pertinent. It is an immersive tale that draws you into the characters' lives. I like the originality and balance of action and introspection. There are some clever twists, and it's addictive reading. I always enjoy the menacing undercurrents and trying to guess the connections in this type of story, and it kept me engaged throughout. The ending is complex and impactful.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher.
I really enjoyed this book. A dark story of murders and secrets. I was totally hooked right from the start. I couldn’t put it down.
There’s a story everyone believes…
The victim: eighteen year old Janie leaving home for a new life.
The criminal: world famous rock star Robbie, who harbours a shocking secret.
The protector: witness support officer, Vanessa desperate to right the wrongs of her past.
They tried to bury that fateful day. Now, it’s back to haunt them.
And then there’s the truth…
The story is told in two different timelines, now and twenty years ago through the POV’s of Janie, Robbie and Vanessa.
A clever storyline with short chapters and twists and turns that keep you guessing. And well written strong characters, most are likeable, others not so much. I liked the way all the characters were connected in some way. I enjoyed the court room scenes which are brilliantly descriptive and the emotional ending tying it all together.
Overall, a fast paced thought provoking read. Definitely recommend. It’s well worth the read. I look forward to @janecorry next book.

5 out of 5, I very much enjoyed this book.
The story is told through the eyes of two main characters, Robbie, a famous singer in a band, and Vanessa, a widow who volunteers at a court to support victims. It’s not clear at first how their storylines will come together but gradually their back stories intertwine and it all lines up together. This was an easy but absorbing read. It would be a great summer read on holiday. I’ve read a few titles now by Jane Corey and they never fail to disappoint. Highly recommended!
Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for providing an advance copy in return for my honest opinion. I have also published this review on Goodreads and will add it to Amazon shortly.
A teenager is knocked down and left for dead. An aging pop star lives with the fear of the police knocking on his door every day. A woman accompanies witnesses into court who might otherwise find it too difficult to testify. Her baby died when born prematurely and she finds comfort in talking to her deceased police officer husband about the case he could never solve - who knocked down the girl.
With more coincidences than imaginable, everyone is linked to everyone else in this book, whether a cell mate, relative (long lost or otherwise), victim or aggressor. This makes the book much too far fetched and would put off any potential witness from testifying in court.
Janie was leaving for a new life . She went to the beach for the last time and on her way back her life was changed for ever.
No-one was ever held responsible but someone was living a good life whilst Janie was locked inside hers.
One day that will come back to hunt someone and several lives will be affected.

There's the story everyone believes...

World-famous rockstar Robbie is harbouring a shocking secret.
Witness support officer Vanessa is desperate to right the wrongs of her past.

I Died on a Tuesday is the story of Janie’s accident as seen through the eyes of the victim, the criminal and the protection officer. All three versions explore different angles and provide a fascinating contrast.
The mystery has a compelling hook and immediately, there is so much being unpacked and revealed, the cogs in your brain are constantly turning. The secrets behind each character’s life present a different problem in the larger scheme of things and the narrative is paced in a way that every plot-twist turns the story around.
For about three-fourths of the book I was completely sucked in, desperately trying to make sense of every clue. I was quite literally a hair’s breadth away from marking a murder timeline of my own.
Apart from the crackling mystery, another aspect the novel weaves in is how one deals with past grief and guilt. It also highlights how the events of one’s past influence and shape their future.
An intriguing mystery with a psychological undertone, I Died on a Tuesday unravels the dark secrets of a complicated past and the lengths families go to in order to keep them hidden.

Twenty years ago eighteen year old Janie White was about to embark on a new chapter in her life, working for a publisher in London, when a freak accident occurred leaving her for dead. Fast forward to the present day and famous rock star, Robbie Manning is arrested for this tragic event. At the trial Vanessa, a witness support officer and the widow of a retired policeman, is brought in to support Janie while she relives that fateful day, but what is truth and what is lies?
The story is told from the perspectives of the three main characters, across two timelines, with many other significant characters woven into the events throughout, and all having a bearing on the outcome. As with all of Corry's books, the story is well crafted with authentic characters, some of them very likeable, others not so, but all of them played their part so well. I liked all of the main characters, I felt sorry for Janie and the life she'd had so cruelly snatched away from her, for Vanessa who had struggled throughout her marriage and for Robbie who, for whatever part he'd played in the tragedy was, at the time, a naive young man trying to do the right thing. This is a compelling read, with many twists and turns along the way, especially in the final part of the book where they were thrown from every direction in quick succession. Another great read from this author which I highly recommend.
I'd like to thank Penguin General UK and Netgalley for the approval, I will post my review on Amazon and Goodreads.
A hit and run two decades ago. Great characters. My first book by this author and I wan5 to read more.
I Died on a Tuesday by Jane Corry is an absolute brilliant novel and I found myself devouring it within a few days.
Following 3 main characters, we delve into an unsettling world and quite realistic in my opinion. The characters are
The victim - young Janie - hurt in an accident and left with life-altering injuries.
The criminal: Famous Robbie - accused of doing the unthinkable.
The protector: Vanessa who is an Witness support officer, Vanessa.
The novel is very intricately weaved and very cleverly done, I loved it. I really enjoyed reading this book, upsetting at many points but really well done by Jane Corry.
Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and author for allowing me and ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This is a completely intriguing book that kept me hooked!
With three main characters, the narrative moves from each of their perspectives to gradually reveal their stories, linked to a life changing accident years ago. The narrative shows how powerful a secret can be and the consequences when secrets are finally and painfully revealed.
This really had twists and turns that completely kept me guessing.
Thanks to the author, publisher Penguin and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book as an ARC.
Janie is 17, she’s been swimming in the sea - as she usually does I first thing in the morning. But today is different, she is knocked off her bike by a van and left for dead.
Twenty years later, a knock on the door and Robbie is arrested for the accident.
Vanessa assists witnesses in court.
Judge wonders what the truth is.
Great to see the stories through different peoples eyes. All slightly nuanced and secrets abound.
Twists and turns and surprises are uncovered.
Absorbing and easy read. Really enjoyed it.
Love all the books I have read from this author. Great writing and premise. Amazing characters. Page turner. Plenty of suspense and twists to keep me guessing..Definitely looking forward to the next offering. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it.
3.5 stars
I am a big fan of this author on the whole but I do find that occasionally she doesn't quite reach the usual heady heights that I would expect. This book sadly comes into that category. Although I did manage to finish it, it was a bit of a challenge and didn't leave me as satisfied as I would have liked to have been.
We start in the past with a terrible accident. We then flit between that past and the present as we follow three main characters, Janie, Robbie, and Vanessa as their pasts and presents collide and they are forced to come to terms with it all.
Janie is a young girl cut down in her prime when she is mowed down by a van, leaving her with life changing injuries. Robbie is a family man and a world famous rock star, and Vanessa is widowed and retired, and now spends her time volunteering as a witness support. Our story really kicks off when Robbie is arrested for causing the accident that nearly took Janie's life.
On the face of things, this book started off very strongly. Setting up nicely. As we are initially horrified at Robbie, as we learn more of his past, the sympathy side of things starts to emerge. Vanessa has her own awakening regarding coming to terms with her late husband and his treatment of her. And Janie has her own daemons to fight...
I say it started strong. At some point, after that great build up, I felt that the author started to lose control. Yes there are a lot of things that become interconnected. But at the same time, they also make the book way too busy and I do admit to rolling my eyes at the amount of extra connections that the author started to include. I did start to wonder at one point whether she had a bingo card that she needed to complete to win some prize or bet. It sure felt like that. This meant that all the good and hard work that came before started to melt away and it all degenerated into a bit of a farce for me. That said, I did get to the end and, although the ending was mostly satisfying, I was left with a few things that either didn't conclude or didn't make complete sense to me.
It's a shame really as the initial premise was cracking and I also learned a lot about the witness support system which was interesting. I didn't even know there was such a thing!
My thanks go to the Publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book.
Eighteen year old Janie knew her mother hadn't drowned like they all said. She knew she would find her if only she had time to search more. London was a big place but even though her dad tried to convince Janie that she was gone, Janie was determined to believe the opposite. Her new job in London would be the beginning of that search, and she was excited, but sad to leave her dad as well. Cycling home from her usual swim at the beach, Janie's head was full of her future; thoughts that filled her mind. The sudden appearance of a white van in front of her, heading for her, shattered Janie's dream, her future, forever.
Robbie, his wife Irena and their two children, were happy. Robbie was a singing star, popular, making plenty of money, living the dream. But Robbie held a dark secret, one which he could tell no one. And when the police arrived at their door, Robbie knew his time had come. Was he guilty, or not guilty?
Vanessa had had a brutal life. Now, a witness support officer to the courts, she enjoyed each and every time she helped someone. They said - don't get close to the people you support - but Vanessa had a problem with that rule. What would she do when confronted by the latest case?
I quite enjoyed I Died on a Tuesday, which is my first by Jane Corry. Well written characters, they all performed as they should. Janie was a heartwarming character, while Vanessa was a favourite. And there were some really "bad" guys as well - no sympathies for them! I'm going to check out more of the author's work. Recommended.
With thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my digital ARC to read in exchange for an honest review.
The book begins with Janie being badly injured in a car accident, and left for dead.
Years later, a famous rock star, is charged and arrested with a hit and run for causing Janie’s accident.
The book is told from 3 peoples perspective:
Vanessa a widowed court room helper
Robbie, famous rock-star arrested for the accident
Janie Perspective herself, even though the accident left her unable to talk
From the beginning, this is an incredible story – which not kinky focuses on Janie’s accident it also gives the 3 main characters their own life issues.
The twists and turns keep you turning the pages and wanting more.
Brilliant original read.
The consequences of one action and how it affects so many people. Like a pebble being thrown into a pond the ripples spread from the centre.
Told from multiple points of view that interweave this is an engrossing read that you won't be putting down once you start.
I loved the setting for this book, courtroom drama, and the lives of the 3 main POV outside of the case.
I was hooked from the beginning,
Each character you discover everything about their pasts, not only relating to the case but secrets they themself have as the plot develops.
I really enjoyed 'Janie's' POV in this one.
Each chapter is from a different point of view. Sometimes present time, sometimes past. But found it very easy to follow and the way that the characters plots/subplots are weaved together was well done.
Fast paced, short chapters. A real page turner
Wow what a great book from the first pages it grips you. following Robbie Manning a pop star who years ago with his mates ran over cyclist Janie White and left her for dead with horrendous injuries. Years later the police turn up at his door to arrest him as Janie did not die but is in a wheelchair and can only speak through a computer.
The characters really draw you in with their stories especially Robbie and Janie and then there is Vanessa who works as a court support volunteer who helps Janie in the court to tell her story.
A thoroughly fast paced and just when you think you know all the facts there is a shocking twist.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
