I read with children closer to the age demographic. They weren't really a fan of the book and said it was "okay". They are fans of Mo Willems, which this is marketed as being similar to, but they seemed to almost find it more simple and for readers younger than early readers.
Accessible text and simple illustrations work together well in this playful picture book about friendship. It's not especially complicated and the reader won't likely find the ending much of a surprise. Still, cute enough.
This book is really cute and proves that things aren't always as they seem. It's a great example of problem solving and working together to find a solutions. It's funny, bright, and engaging for many audiences.
A fun book between a duck and a cat . When Duck tells Cat that he is allergic to him , Duck puts Cat through several obstacles so that they can stay together. A book that children will love and laugh along as they read it.
I just reviewed You Make Me Sneeze! by Sharon G. Flake. #YouMakeMeSneeze #NetGalley
I read this to my four year old who thought this book was so funny! He laughed at all the sneezing parts. Aside from being silly, this was a cute story about friendship and taking care of those you care about. Such an adorable read! Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC and opportunity to read this book.
Adorable! This is a very cute early reader graphic book; I expect it will appeal to Elephant and Piggy fans. The pictures are beautifully colorful, the facial expressions expressive, and the storyline very appealing. I was trying to decide whether to order this book for my library, and I definitely will! Thank you to NetGalley and Astra Publishing House for an e-ARC of this book.
This was a cute book. It was a nice way to look at allergies. Some kids have allergies and can't eat or be around certain things. This book is a good way to help them see that that is normal. The illustrations were super cute as well.
This is a cute story about how a duck is allergic to a cat. The dialogue is so funny. I recommend the book..
A delightful book about 2 friends, one of whom is allergic to the other. When you really like one another, what do you do do you can be around each other? Cat likes being with duck, but duck is allergic to him. Sweet, fun solutions to being able to be close.
I read this book with my daughter, she loves it!! She loves how it’s a story about an unlikely pairing, a duck and a cat. She thinks that the end is the best part. She also loved how the duck asked funny things from the cat. The part where the duck doesn’t like the cats singing was the funniest thing she’s ever read. We love the beautiful pictures and how it appears they’re camping. According to Izzy the duck saying no matter what they’ll always be best friends made the story the best book she’s ever read.
A fun story about friends who get a little frustrated with the needs of the friendship only to discover how much their friendship really means.
Two friends, a duck and a cat, go on a walk together. But suddenly, duck starts sneezing and thinks he is allergic to his friend the cat. The cat tries numerous things to help with the duck’s sneezing but eventually says it may be best for the duck to go home. But what if the duck isn’t allergic to the cat? What could it be that’s making the duck sneeze? Can the duck and cat still be friends?
My husband and I read this book with our daughter during her tummy time. It is a gorgeously illustrated book. It reminds me so much of Pete the Cat with its illustrations. My husband isn’t a big book reader but he was laughing and smiling while we read this book.
It’s a super cute, easy read. My husband said he wants to buy this book for our child as soon as it releases. I highly recommend it to anyone with young children. It will definitely become a family favorite.
Good book about friendship. I loved that the underlying story here was about 2 friends working through a problem. It was funny and my 4 year old enjoyed all the sneezing. Very enjoyable and fun illustrations.
Loved this book. It was very cute. The pictures were great! Reminded me a little of Elephant and Piggie or Bruce the Bear.
The back and forth banter in this book was perfect.
I am definitely going to buy this book for my collection.
I received this ARC for an honest review.
Two adorable friends, Duck and Cat, try to find solutions to stay together when Duck starts sneezing. Wonderful illustrations and huge Achoos will leave any child laughing!
This is definitely one of my favorite children's books I have read this year. When I read it to the 3-year-old I nanny he thought it was the funniest thing in the world. I would recommend this book to families for sure!
This is such a cute book for children! The duck and cat have silly dialogue together and the illustrations are sure to produce giggles from young readers. These two characters should become a popular series.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of You Make Me Sneeze! by Sharon G. Flake. This is a super cute, original story about a friendship between a duck and a cat that almost falls apart because of a sudden allergy. The illustrations by Anna Raff are very kid-friendly and I love all of the speech bubbles. The message about loyalty, friendship and perseverance is conveyed in a charming and witty way that will appeal to early elementary students everywhere.
