This is a good book. The two main characters are Jolee and Truitt. Jolee is a trick horse rider at the rodeo. Truitt help run the family’s ranch and his cousin and him are roapers. Jolee’s partner quits on her, she immediately ask Truitt to be part of her act. He says ok. They start changing up the act. They spend a lot of time practicing. Trust has some issues but work through them. They fall in love.
Thank you to NetGalley for this chance.
First off love the characters Jolee and Truitt. Truitt who runs a ranch. And Jolee a trick rider who is not interested in romance. The impressions Jolee has about Truitt are wrong and she sees him in a different light then she did before. I did enjoy this such a good romance. I would pick up again and read more from this author.
Tricking Christmas is a heartwarming cowboy/cowgirl romance by Shanna Hatfield. Truitt Lucas, a down-to-earth cowboy, and Jolee Judson, a trick rider, reluctantly team up to finish rodeo contracts after Jolee's partner leaves. Despite Truitt's reputation as a ladies' man, he's always admired Jolee. As they work together, their friendship deepens into romance, portrayed authentically in the slow-burn narrative. The story, set during Christmas, features captivating descriptions of rodeo acts and offers a charming read suitable for any time of year.
not really into Christmas books but this one scratches that cowboy itch. Decent Romance went into it with little expectations.
A sweet Christmas romance that tended to be a little on the predictable side but still good. It was also a fairly quick read.
great story about two strong characters
Truitt is a heartthrob who never goes home alone and he's rarely rejected. But the worst came from Jolee, who immediately threw everything at him.
But then he offers himself as her rescue and the two begin to work together and it's inevitable that they'll get closer, as usual when you spend so much time together.
Heartwarming, loving, full of emotion and without any big drama, this book is just right for snuggling up on the couch in winter.
Have fun reading for yourself!

Truitt Lucas looks at life with a smile on the outside but on the inside, he feels like he does not deserve love or happiness. He meets Jolee Judson who remembers him from the time he was with her partner for a short bit. He tries to stay away from her for she speaks her mind and most of the time she is on the mark. But after Jolee's partner quits she needs to add more tricks to her act so she asks Truitt for help with roping and other things, she begins to spend time at their ranch and meets their grandmother, and the more time with Truitt she sees a different side of him yet he is scared so she leaves, now you have to read the book to see if the cowboy goes and chases the runaway. A good story.
My final Christmas read did not disappoint!! Tricking Christmas by @shannahatfield was such a great story, one that I didn’t want to put down! This week has been busy and I kept sneaking in time to read! Truitt and Jolee took me on a rollercoaster of emotions that I would happily ride again! I will be reading more of this series for sure! Thanks to @netgalley for the great read!!
From the first chapters I couldn't put this book down. Loved the characters, their determination and chemistry. They were real and believable. Great storyline that was fun, interesting and entertaining. A really enjoyed this sweet, charming cowboy romance.
"Tricking Christmas" by Shanna Hatfield is a delightful romance novel featuring two charming characters from lovely country families who are trying to make the most of their lives.
Truitt Lucas lost his parents at a young age, and as a result, he associates love with pain. This has caused him to avoid serious relationships, and he spends most of his time running the family ranch with his cousin Troy, as well as team roper with his cousin for a few months of the year.
On the other hand, Jolee Judson has no interest in love or romance. Her sole focus is her trick-riding business. However, when Jolee's partner quits after her mother is injured in a car accident, Truitt steps in to help her finish out the rodeo season. As they spend more time together, they grow closer, but Truitt refuses to let himself fall for her. He keeps a wall around his heart.
This book is the 12th instalment in the author's Rodeo Romance series, and it will definitely capture your heart. It's filled with fun, laughter, and sarcasm, and you'll find it hard to put down.
This is such a good read. It’s light hearted but delves a bit deeper. You laugh and you’ll cry. Both Jo & Truitt are too good to be true but yet extremely relatable. It is quite literally everything I want from a Christmas cowboy book. I’d highly recommend snuggling up with a hot chocolate & reading this one.
Tricking Christmas is a sweet clean, contemporary holiday cowboy/cowgirl romance by Shanna Hatfield. This is a writer I can count on to give believable, likable, and not so perfect characters for me to me. She has done so again with Truitt Lucas and Jolee Judson. Because of necessity they team up together for the end of the rodeo season. This book was such a fun, enjoyable read. The visual description of the trick acts was incredible, I could visualize them so well in my head as I read. The romance which was a slow burn especially for Jolee was great too. It was authentic as they first navigated friendship before more.
The story has Christmas time in it, but it could be read anytime of the year, especially when you need a pick-me-up. What a charming and delightful read as Truitt and Jolee learn to love their work and each other in Tricking Christmas. All the Rodeo Romances take place at the holiday season and are sure to become favorited of yours like they are mine.
The publisher/author gave me a complimentary digital ARC of the book which I have voluntarily decided to read and review, giving my personal opinions and thoughts.
